Because Avon House is small it is able to provide a homely and relaxed atmosphere and can cater to the individual needs of residents. Avon House has given my mother a lovely, safe and reassuring home in which to spend her later years. The traditional house has a warm cosy feel, a home from home, with spacious living rooms, accessible garden and comfortable carpeted bedrooms. A purposely small number of residents and a regular team
of carers ensures that every resident has continual care and support as required. The two hands on managers are both excellent and the staff are kind and helpful, always attending to my mother's needs with a ready smile. Daily activities are organised in the communal lounge for residents to enjoy if they wish, creating a friendly, family-like atmosphere. Great consideration is given to allow residents to ake their own choices and feel independent, whilst still receiving the best care. The place is spotlessly clean and fresh, yet retains a homely ambiance with fresh flowers, traditional decor and comfortable furniture. The peaceful relaxed surroundings are perfect for my mother who, after a long stay in hospital, is now the happiest we have seen her in years. This peace of mind is priceless. We're so very grateful and can highly recommend Avon House for respite or long-term care.

Since arriving at Avon House my mother has been treated with dignity and care. She is always clean and well presented. The home itself is always clean and does not smell in any way. The staff are friendly and always greet me with a smile. They know who I am and tell me how my mother is before I see
her. It is a small home and no-one goes unnoticed.

Avon House has exceeded our expectations.
The staff are competent and always caring and cheerful. The home itself is perfect for older residents with lovely gardens and a beautiful location. It is very much a home and staff make a point of welcoming residents home even if they have only been away for
a walk. Avon House is very well run with managers who are clearly very experienced, excellent at their jobs and very approachable.

We would like to once again thank the management and staff at Avon House, for all their care and support to Dad, he has been at Avon House for approximately 3 years now. With their care and professionalism, he in our eyes has improved massively, he now gets company bonding with other residents and is
regularly weather permitting outside in the garden and walking around the village which he enjoys.
He tells us what’s been going on at Avon House whether it be a church service to a sing-song or a games afternoon to a quiz, and he always tells us about the lovely meals he has had.
We as a family are amazed at how he has fitted into the Avon House family.
Most importantly, he is very happy at Avon House and for us, he is in a safe caring environment with wonderful staff and a very experienced and understanding management team.

Mum had to go into a home after a stay in hospital. On arrival at Avon House they were so welcoming and made Mum feel at home. Over the time of Mum being there I have got to know all the staff and you could not ask for a more caring, professional and helpful staff. Mum loves them all and always says
how lucky she is to be there with such kind people. I am so grateful to all at Avon House for looking after Mum so well.

Avon House is a small care home which feels more like a "home from home" to my mother. She was quite anxious about moving into a care facility and ending up alienated but her fears dissolved when she moved into Avon House. The staff are superb, very caring, attentive and friendly. Mum was made to feel
like one of the family from the first day and she's never looked back. She's made friends with several of the residents and is thoroughly enjoying her life.
Having now been a resident for nearly two years, I can honestly say that living at Avon House has given my mum a new lease on life. She celebrated her 100th birthday recently and we couldn't have wished for a better way for her to mark such a special occasion than being with all her new friends, the wonderful carers, the management and yes, family too.
My family and I are so very grateful to Avon House.

My wife and I have made many visits to Residential Care and Nursing homes over the years, and we are immensely impressed by the quality of care being given at Avon House. The care managers are calm, professional and wonderfully caring, and we are yet to meet any members of staff who are not patient,
welcoming and very good indeed at managing my mother, and the other residents. We know how challenging their job can be, and we are very grateful indeed to all your staff.

My mother came to Avon House in December 2019, just before the covid pandemic struck. Now 101 she is still there, with slightly greater needs, but still as well-cared for as ever. Her family are most grateful for the love, care and affection she receives from the staff and for the excellent catering
that Mum still heartily enjoys. That, the friendly family atmosphere of the home and the view of the lovely garden out of her window have given Mum a suitable place to see out her final years. The Avon House management negotiated the difficulties of the pandemic particularly well. Testing protocols around visits were (and still are) reassuringly strict but access to and contact with Mum was never impossible.

We chose Avon House because we knew about its reputation in the community. We looked at some of the new homes, but felt that Avon House could provide more of a homely atmosphere and more individual attention. We have not been disappointed and my mother is really thriving. She was fearing her loss of
independence in a home but has been pleasantly surprised to see much support there is to continue with hobbies and stay as independent as possible. The home is well run and we feel involved as a family. It is good to have staff live on site and most seem to have been there a while. It is reassuring to know that the carers can get to know mum well and vice versa. It is also very reassuring to have the GP make weekly visits.

I can not praise Avon House enough. All the staff are extremely welcoming and their care goes above and beyond. They looked after my father extremely well after having a horrible time in hospital. All my father's needs were taken care of on a daily basis and he always felt comfortable. It's a lovely
large house in a great area. My father has come away from there with some lovely memories. Thank you, Avon House.

My mum has been a resident of Avon House for almost three years now. I truly believe that she is still with us because of the outstanding care and attention that she receives at the Avon House. Being a small and very well-run home, my mum has had exceptional care from the minute she arrived until today.
I live in the US and call my mum every morning. Whoever answers the phone for her is always cheerful, informative about how she is doing, and just a pleasure to talk to. Everyone makes sure mum is on the phone and stays with her during the call. I receive emails, texts, photos, videos, the staff arrange video chats, just so that mum and I can stay in touch the best way we know how, and I never have to worry about her. I get routine updates on her health. I am involved in every decision. The care home manager is the most exceptionally competent, caring, supportive and amazing lady I have ever had the joy of working with, in any situation. I recommend this home completely.

My Mother has been in Avon House for over two years and prior to this was receiving care in the community and in a warden-assisted development, and she was admitted to hospital almost monthly, however, since being in Avon House she has not had one spell in hospital. I have no doubt this is due to the
consistent high-quality care provided by the team. They have dealt with covid extremely well and their record is second to none. I visited her last week and I have not seen her look so well. The staff without exception have always been helpful kind and thoughtful whatever the situation. My mother is always clean, and the home is always clean and does not smell. They continuously try and motivate my mother with encouragement by spending time with her. The home always keeps me updated and they contact me when needed. The manager and her team are an excellent example of what a care home should be like. Thank you all for making my mother's later years a positive experience.
