From the moment you step into Barlavington Manor, you are greeted with warm hearts and big smiles. The gardens are stunning, and the care is second to none. You can really tell this is a family-owned care home where both the staff and the owners are very passionate about what they do.

A tremendous place that stands head and shoulders over everything we visited. They do the most marvellous job and we cannot thank them enough. They show so much compassion and patience and care immensely about the people they look after.

In the 4½ years of Mum's and my Aunt's occupancy of the home, all aspects of care have been 5*, both in the main home and the dementia unit. The staff always goes that extra mile with a smile on their face. It is a happy home and that energy transmits itself to the residents.
The end of life care
offered to Mum most recently will always stay with me in a heartfelt way. The loving care was exemplary.
That level of care continues for my aunt in the dementia unit. I'm always kept informed of her circumstances and therefore feel totally relaxed about her situation. Couldn't possibly ask for more.

I came here 6 months ago and am still active enough at 103. To live in a bungalow with my own furniture, a cleaner comes weekly and my washing is done.
A staff member calls every morning to check on me. I go to the house for a main meal and for activities and company at any time. The staff could not
be kinder or more helpful even though short-staffed. I find it a happy and comfortable place to live.

Head and shoulders above the other care homes in the area. So impressed with their service, care and love that they give to each resident. Beautiful surroundings overlooking the South Downs. Could not recommend it more highly.

Since the moment Mum arrived in this unfamiliar environment, at a very difficult time for us all, a year ago, not only has she received excellent support, mindful of all her individual needs but so have we as a very concerned family. The road of ongoing care of an elderly, vulnerable and much loved
relative can be very bumpy and unpredictable. We have found that the communications of management and staff have been helpful, caring and professional throughout, always with Mum’s best interests at heart. Day to day care and attention is very good with sensitive touches throughout, from personal care to catering to maintenance to gardening (beautiful) and the well-being activities which are superb. Housekeeping is thorough and professional with a high level of attention to cleanliness and hygiene, vital in these unprecedented times. I have the highest respect for the way in which all at Barlavington have and are handling the pandemic and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a home.

It can be very difficult to decide on a care home, but since my mother moved into Barlavington Manor in early February 2021, I have continually been delighted with my choice. I trust the staff implicitly with my mother's care and they do anything and everything they can to make my mother feel safe
and well looked after. She repeatedly tells me how lovely the carers are and I can see this for myself too, they are simply amazing. I have frequent communication with the manager and her staff and am kept very well informed of my mother's needs and issues. The situation for care homes during the Covid pandemic has been awful, but everyone at Barlavington has done their utmost, within the regulations, to enable visits and to make me feel welcome. Barlavington Manor is not only a grand building with the character that goes with that, but it is also very well maintained, elegantly decorated and truly feels like a home from home.

The Barlavington team have been wonderful in looking after my father since he moved in about 15 months ago.
He is an assisted-living resident which has worked very well, giving him the independence of his own place with the support and care of the home. Recently he was seriously ill. The team moved
him into the home and looked after him brilliantly. He is now well on the road to recovery.
Overall we have been very pleased. The staff are very kind and helpful, taking great care of their residents. They have done especially well in the difficult times of the past 10 months.

When my father had a stroke we as a family had to make choices about what was best for Dad, his care plan and where he would be most comfortable. The team at Barlavington Manor made our decision easy. Their friendly staff, wonderful facilities coupled with the peace of mind knowing every detail of my

My wife has dementia and is very well provided for at Barlavington. I visit her all day every day. She is well-fed and I eat with her most visits. We are very well supported by the staff and happy with everything and we can come and go as we please.

Thank you so much Barlavington Manor for everything you do for my grandmother, you really do go above and beyond. The management team and staff could not be nicer, my family and I really do feel she is in safe and caring hands. Everyone at the Manor from the gardeners to the chefs work incredibly hard
to maintain what is pretty much a five-star hotel with care. Barlavington Manor is definitely not your average care home, as soon as you step inside it is immediately clear you have stepped into somewhere special.
