Camowen is a well-established independent residential care home registered for twenty residents in the quiet and desirable area of Worthing. The home has twenty single rooms, nineteen with en-suite facilities and has recently been refurbished. It is set in lovely grounds creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility

The owner and management have many years’ experience of providing professional care to the elderly in a safe, friendly family atmosphere. Camowen provides professional, compassionate care to all residents who are always treated with individuality dignity and respect.

The home is driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of residents and attention to detail is paramount. Care workers are vigilant to ensure that the facilities, policies, activities and services are always resident led and residents are allowed to live their lives the way they choose. Care services are delivered in accordance with agreed contracts of care and promote privacy, dignity, choice and independence.

Owners strongly believe the key to the delivery of a high standard of care is to have an experienced, well-trained and caring staffing team. Staff are known for their warmth, patience and respect for the needs of residents whilst providing holistic care. The service is further enhanced by the full support of local doctors and community nurses, providing a comprehensive range of care that meets all resident’s care needs and personal preferences.

There are several types of stay depending on the level of support required, residential care, respite care, convalescence and palliative care. The home accepts local authority and privately funded residents.

For residents to feel truly at home, they are able to bring their personal possessions and pets can be accommodated by arrangement.

Camowen offers high-quality care and staff are always cheerful and committed. The atmosphere is relaxed and happy and residents look clean and well cared for. If a resident requires a Doctor or District Nurse to visit the manager acts on it immediately. I would recommend Camowen to friends and family.

My mother loves her room and all the staff who pop in to see her. Having had no appetite, she now looks forward to meal times.
The communal room has become a place that my mother has started to use and interact with other guests.
I could not ask for a better place for my mother to be.

My mother-in-law was taken into care at this care home four years ago and she will be 102 years young in January 2018. This is a truly magnificent care home.

I feel extremely lucky for my father to reside at Camowen Residential Home. My father enjoys joking and laughing with the staff and they treat him with dignity and respect. He feels very welcome and comfortable and the standard of cleanliness is excellent. I have always felt welcome and the staff very
approachable and friendly.

We visit my cousin on a regular basis and have always been warmly welcomed. Staff are friendly, with warm smiles.
No smell of urine in ground floor level, which is where my cousin has her room. She is always clean, no evidence of soiling on clothing.
Attention given by staff to dress her in clothes
she likes.
Her room is clean, no bodily smells evident. I ring every few days between visits. The assistant manager always gives a detailed account of my cousin's health etc and on occasion has called her to the office to have a chat.

From the very beginning, I have found the staff and management to be very kind and attentive to my mother's needs. Although she tends to be a loner, they have gently encouraged her to join in the activities at the same time, respect her need for privacy and the food is served is excellent. As a visitor,
I am always made to feel welcome and I am grateful for the peace of mind this establishment has given to me and my family.

The staff are very friendly, caring and treat each client as an individual. Considering mum can be a little disruptive due to her dementia they are incredibly patient with her. The food is very good and they give mum plenty of time to do things at her own pace. They know her likes and dislikes and feed
her accordingly.
They are very friendly and welcoming to her family and we are invited to all the parties and concerts they have. They also have outings where were are invited too.
In all we are extremely happy with the care and the love that is given to mum and have no worries about her being in Camowen.

My mother has been a resident at Camowen for three and a half years. The staff are welcoming and have made mum feel settled, safe and happy. All of the staff are friendly and approachable. Mum is always treated with respect and dignity. The activities are varied and she is always encouraged to participate.

My mother has been at the Camowen for a few years now and I can only praise all the staff for their care and patience for her day to day wellbeing. The home is very nicely decorated and always very inviting. If my mother has been out, upon her return she says she is home, which makes the family feel
very reassured and happy.
