Church Farm Care Home offers a range of personalised residential care plans, including early-stage dementia, respite, convalescence and day care. The former farmhouse has been converted to provide every modern convenience while retaining features like oak beams and fireplaces.

Church Farm has a very homely feel. There are lots of places to relax at the home. Residents can get hair and nails done, settle into an armchair with a good book or catch up with loved ones in one of the lounges.

Church Farm have absolutely wonderful gardens. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to sit and take in the fresh air and sunshine, including the large patio area and a wooden gazebo. The home has a hairdresser on site and is pet-friendly too.

The chef prepares delicious meals and snacks for residents to enjoy in the social dining area or in the comfort of their own room. Food menus are regularly assessed to suit preference and diet, prepared using fresh local produce, and even mark special occasions like birthdays. Fish and chip Fridays are a strong favourite! The home provides regular themed meals that align with the seasons, or to encourage a variety of cuisines.

The superb location offers tranquillity in the midst of plenty to do in the local area. Family and friends are always welcome, whether for a coffee, a meal or joining in with what’s going on. Church Farm hold regular parties and events for residents, and love the community to join in the fun, too.

Church Farm Care Home has a team of activity coordinators who plan enjoyable things to do including arts and crafts, games, visits, parties and much more. Church Farm residents love their weekly 'Boogie Chair-a-size', which encourages the residents to dance and sing along, it keeps everyone active and entertained.

My father-in-law commenced his stay at Church Farm in October 2019 and was very happy there. Each member of staff who dealt with him was very kind and caring, and my husband and I could not have wished for better care for him.
There is a very full programme of activities going on at the home, including
crafts, films, exercise classes, musical events, food and drinks tastings. The food always looked wholesome and well-presented.
The rooms and communal areas are bright and well maintained, and the building lies in a rural setting, but close to the local village and main roads.
All in all, we are pleased that our father/father-in-law was able to be cared for at Church Farm Care Home.

My mother-in-law was recommended to come to Church Farm by her excellent social worker after a fall and we could not be more delighted with the care that she is now receiving. From the start the welcome has been so warm, we, that is her son and I would particularly like to say thank you to the receptionist
who gives just the warmest of greetings at the front door where we have seen a number of residents come as they so enjoy her company, she is a real asset and adds to the homeliness that is created alongside a group of excellent carers. (Thank you one of the senior carers especially) and mum absolutely loves the food so thank you chefs (best pastry mum reports) and the home is always spotlessly clean, thank you everyone and the activities are really enjoyed by mum who doesn’t usually mix to easily but with the carers encouragement has really enjoyed these enormously! So we cannot say how delighted we have been with the care that is being delivered, a huge thank you to each and every one of the team.

My mother first went to Church Farm ten years ago after a bad fall; she was very well looked after and felt immediately at home. After several subsequent visits for recuperation, her final stay began 18 months ago. Her facilities were all failing but the staff continued to treat her with respect, humour
and fondness. She felt valued and cared for until her death in August.

On Saturday 21st, all the residents and families were treated to an amazing afternoon of fun activities. The dining rooms were so well decorated with flats, cut-outs of the Queen as well and her corgis. After drinks and a superb buffet lunch, we all went outside for a doggy competition. There was even
a bouncy castle for the kids. They really must be congratulated for their time and effort spent.

Good variety of food (menus) from the kitchen. Kitchen staff are always helpful and will usually get you what you want. The care staff are available fairly promptly when called and are attentive. Home is warm in winter and the surroundings attractive. Social activities are varied and something on most

The manager and her staff made my mum's stay at Church Farm just like being at home or as my mum would have said, a 5-star hotel! Every need and whim was catered for! From bubble baths to designing table mats for Valentine's Day, mum was made to feel loved and cherished by all the staff. An excellent

My mother-in-law moved into Church Farm at very short notice. The first few weeks she was very unsettled and wanted to return to her home which was distressing for all of us. But with the excellent care she has been given and the kindness of all the staff along with having people around her all day,
she is now happy and moving back to her home is a thing of the past, she now calls Church Farm her home.
Since moving in, we have noticed a marked improvement in her mobility and general health, she is getting three healthy meals a day, has plenty of people to talk to and several afternoons a week there is some sort of entertainment most of which she really enjoys. Life has changed for the better for my mother-in-law since she moved into Church Farm and it is reassuring to see her being looked after so well.

As soon as my mum arrived at Church Farm (23/12/13), the staff demonstrated a very welcoming and caring approach. This was consistent until mum passed away on 31/5/17 - I had tremendous peace of mind and trust in the care given.

The ambience of the care home is pleasant and relaxingly calm. I have not yet ventured out into the gardens but, from what I have seen from the windows, they look as though they will be very attractive when summer arrives.
This is my first long-term stay in a care home and would find it difficult to
assess any competitive home. I could not imagine how Chapel Farm could be improved, given that, it must be operating discretely under financial restraint.
Staffing levels might cause some problems but there is no sign of these from this resident's view point. Likewise, catering and menu planning are not apparent. The problem area is time taken in serving meals. This could be eased by reducing the multiple choices on offer, or in serving those having personal choices after those who are accepting the preselected main items.
I suggest that more showering facilities be installed. There does, at present, seem to be insufficient for the demand.

I have found Church Farm Care Home to be a very supportive care home, not only to my mother but to all of my family, having been through a very emotional time we all really needed the support. The staff are all very professional but so willing to talk whenever I visit which is most days. The home is

We have a long association with Church Farm Care Home, dating back to 1988. We felt that it was a "home away from home" for our sister since it offered beautiful accommodation in a setting reminiscent of our own home. The sitting and dining rooms and even the halls were full of warmth and nicely furnished
and decorated and the bedroom offered all the amenities one could wish for, including private bathroom and individual access to the private walled garden in the back.


The staff coverage is excellent and available 24/7. They are all very professional but at the same time show compassion and caring for their residents, going out of their way to provide whatever is requested. Management really cares for the well-being of their residents and arranges many social activities and outings during the year. A small thing my sister really appreciates is her hot ovaltine and biscuits at bedtime every night! I can recommend Church Farm Residential Home very highly and most warmly indeed.

Church Farm is a very good care home my mother has been there three years and they look after her very well. The food they provide is excellent. Mum is very happy there. When I go to see mum they always bring us a cup of tea or coffee can not fault Church Farm Care Home.

Mum has been a resident since May 2016, life at Church Farm really suits her she has re-invented herself since moving there. Having been widowed since 2010 with failing health she had become a recluse in her own home, and the isolation was dragging her downhill, very little interaction with people and
not eating properly etc.
She is now first up and last to bed, looking after other residents (she used to be a nurse on a geriatric ward). The Home and staff are really brilliant, always greet her with a smile and a joke. there are activities every morning and afternoon on weekdays. Just like another review says they pulled out all of the stops for her 91st Birthday in January. Christmas was fantastic with a great "White Christmas" show. When visiting I am always greeted by friendly staff, who always offer me refreshments. The management team and seniors always make time to discuss mum or just have a chat.
I have every faith in my mum's safety and wellbeing at Church Farm.

Karen Rothwell

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Karen and I am the home manager at Church Farm.


I was born in Sheffield and knew from the age of 15 when I used to visit a local care home that I wanted to work with older adults. At 16, I joined the care home team and was fortunate enough to spend a few years with that particular organisation working in Mississippi, USA.


After marrying my husband, I had three children - two boys and one girl. Whilst my daughter was young, I attended college to gain my qualifications as I knew I would be returning to care later in my life. During this time, we had moved to Portsmouth to support our son as he had joined the Navy.


Over the next few years, I supported my husband in public houses and hotels around the country.


In 2002 I returned to care and was fortunate to secure a position as an assistant unit manager with Hampshire County Council where I spent 23 years honing my skills while progressing to operations manager, deputy manager and then registered manager in Denmead where I spent 7 years.


I joined Church Farm in 2024 and love the home from home atmosphere. I always strive to ensure all the residents receive the best possible care and feel safe and secure.


Outside of work I love spending time with my 5 grandchildren, who keep me busy and active. To relax I go to the Norfolk Broads where my husband and I have a boat called the Christine Ann, named after my mom. I love seeing all the wildlife and wildflowers and meandering along the rivers.

I live not too far away from Church Farm with my husband, daughter, son in law, granddaughter and two dogs, along with blended family at weekends. It can feel a bit like the Waltons but for me that’s what life is about, good times with family and friends making lots of memories and a job that I love.

Hello! My Name is Anu Yohannan, and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Church Farm Care Home. I have worked for Bupa since June 2022, and I joined the team on a Sponsorship Visa.


I was born in India and studied as a nurse. I chose to train as a nurse as my mother had been one and I saw how much enjoyment she got from her job.


I love my role here and being involved with the residents makes me happy. It was always my dream to come and work in the United Kingdom and I am so grateful for the opportunities offered to me by Bupa.


I have been incredibly lucky that my husband has also been able to come to the UK and was offered a position here at Church Farm as well.

I applied for the job at Church Farm as my mum (and other members of my family) worked in care and suggested that because of my caring nature, this environment would suit me.

Hello! My name is Kimba, and I am a black and white long-haired cat who lives at Church Farm. I was adopted by Church Farm after my owner sadly passed away in 2021. I spend most of my day on the sunniest windowsill or on top of a wardrobe ready to jump and land on unsuspecting carers.


My favourite hobby is eating and having lots of cuddles (oh and naps!).


Recently I have taken up my new role as the home administrator’s assistant and make sure her desk is ALWAYS clear so I can lay across it.

I live in the Marine Lounge so I am close to where the food lives, and I can get plenty of attention from EVERYONE who passes by.

Hello! My name is Alfie, and I am a black and white short-haired cat with green eyes. I was adopted by Church Farm after my owner passed away in 2022. My owner had previously worked as a hairdresser here at Church Farm before she came to live here permanently. Recently I have adopted a resident and I make sure he knows exactly when it is lunchtime! We have developed a special friendship, and both enjoy each other’s company. I live in the middle corridor off of the dining room so I can sneak extra treats!


You will usually find me outside or cuddled up with the resident I have adopted.
