Providing quality, compassionate care to those aged 65 and over, and also to those suffering with short-term memory loss and early on-set dementia/Alzheimer's, with a focus on person-centred, individualised care.

Situated in a rural community, close to the local church and travel links, Dovecote View is an ideal setting for those wanting to be close to the city of Chichester, but still live in a rural area.     Parking is a large gravel area, but a paved drop-off/pick-up point for those who require wheelchair access to the property.

Dovecote View is bright, modern, and surrounded by well-kept and colourful gardens. It is very clean and the food is excellent. In my view, the most outstanding feature is the attitude of the staff who are gentle, kind, patient and very, very caring. They are consistently helpful and I feel that the
staff training must be exceptional, as they all seem to have the same attitude to their residents. There seems to be a prevailing view that treats are a good thing so the kitchen provides a rolling programme of culinary snacks and there is an excellent programme of outings for the more able-bodied residents. I feel both thankful and very fortunate that we chose Dovecote View to care for my husband.

Mum has now been at Dovecote for over a year and we are continually delighted with the excellent care and dedication of all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble.

The overall vies is a happy, friendly environment, full to the brim of care and concern for all the residents. Dovecote View is extremely clean and safe. The food is very good, with lots of variety. Plenty of entertainment. Location is good, no passing traffic noise.
I had two visitors today and they
will seriously consider booking in if need be.

I had been caring for my 90-year-old mother at her home for the past five years. This was practically a full-time commitment. Her dementia had got progressively worse over the years and it became obvious last year that she needed professional help. I began visiting care homes in the area with a view
to finding somewhere for her. Having visited around ten homes I began to get rather anxious and I realised that it was a much more difficult task than I had envisioned. Then we discovered Dovecote View and everything changed. It was totally different from any other home I had looked at. On another level. Anyone trying to find good care for a relative should really check out Dovecote just to see what is possible. I am 100% satisfied with the level of care my mother is receiving.

My mother went into Dovecote View in January 2023 after having many falls at home. My mother is very happy. Her room is light, bright and very clean. She does activities every day, mornings and afternoons. The staff are excellent, so caring and very kind to all the residents. I am really happy that
my mother is being cared for at Dovecote View and would recommend it for short or long-term care.

My mother has Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia. As this disease progresses, I am so very grateful that she is in a place where she is safe, looked after and integrated into a very caring environment where the staff don’t keep changing. The staff couldn’t be more empathetic with me as well, and my mother’s
recognition of me disappeared so that I feel I am looked after too. I am full of admiration for the difficult job they do, as it can’t be easy sometimes.

Dovecote View is first class. The staff are friendly and attentive. I am kept informed of any issues regarding Mum's health and well-being. The home itself is very well maintained and kept scrupulously clean. The gardens are a particular attraction with a number of areas for residents and guests to
enjoy the outdoors in a safe and secure environment. Mum enjoys the meals and the family days are particularly enjoyable with a great spread provided by the hard working catering staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dovecote View.

My mum has been a resident for over a year now and I honestly rate Dovecote as 7 stars. They cater to all mum’s needs whenever she asks and go above and beyond in all areas. They keep close communication with us and it never feels like we’re bothering them if ever we have a question. They spot any changes
in Mum and respond quickly and appropriately. Honestly, every member of staff is just amazing. They have a full activity itinerary which they email to us every month including outings, pamper sessions, entertainment, films and Sherry and so much more. We are often invited to celebrate with them. The food is amazing and adaptable to residents' preferences. They have regular reviews with the residents and their relatives to see if there’s anything they can improve and have already done ‘special’ days for each resident personal to them. They have a close relationship with the local GP practice who always respond quickly - I literally cannot fault Dovecote at all - seriously thank you.

Excellent care home, caring and cheerful staff and nothing is too much trouble. It is a safe and secure building which is lovely and bright and clean and very resident friendly. I cannot recommend Dovecote View highly enough. It is an exemplary establishment with superior management and a wonderful, friendly but always professional and informed team of staff who consistently go above and beyond to personalise and adapt care according to the individual resident's ever-changing
needs. I know that Mum is in the safest and most caring hands through her awful dementia journey. Cannot fault the level of communication regarding Mum and the ongoing strive to keep achieving her best possible welfare even on the most challenging of days. Grateful to every Dovecote care provider for all that they do and give to our special loved ones, their passion to exceed is evident.

Dovecote View is a pleasant modern and well-equipped care home. It is always very clean and tidy. The gardens are stocked with flowers and shrubs. The staff are welcoming, friendly and caring and sufficient in Number to cope with any emergency that might arise. When visiting my friend, I am always offered
tea and biscuits along with the residents and occasionally I have stayed for dinner.

Dovecote View is a much-loved residential home. It has a very warm friendly atmosphere. The staffing levels are high and most of the staff have been there for many years, providing all-important continuity for the residents. Recently Dovecote underwent a major refurbishment which has vastly improved
the facilities and provided a beautifully landscaped garden for residents and relatives to enjoy. The food is of a very high standard and there is a well-run activities programme with regular outings. I am always happy to recommend Dovecote as the manager and staff are excellent.

My cousin has been a resident for just over a year. The staff have all been very friendly and caring. She is well cared for and is in a much better position, health-wise than before she moved in. She enjoys the company, the setting and is well entertained by all of the activities.

I went to Dovecote to spend the special coronation lunch with my uncle. It was joyous, it is so lovely and reassuring for me, as my uncle's deputy, trustee and one of his surviving family that he is such an integral part of a loving family that cares for him and enjoys having him there. Seeing the interaction
between the staff and my uncle is wonderful. I felt reassured and rejuvenated!

It is such a difficult time when trying to find residential care for your family. I looked at several places, however, Dovecote View was in a different league. The staff team are wonderful and many have been with Dovecote for years. I can walk in and ask any member of staff how my father is and they
can instantly tell me all about his day. They build fabulous relationships with residents and know every resident really well, they are compassionate on difficult days and fun and encouraging on good days. There is person-centred care at the heart of this dedicated hard working team. They work hard to establish good relationships with families and create an opportunity to work collaboratively and support families and residents with every aspect of care.
Having learned through a difficult previous placement what bad care looks like, I recognise and appreciate the safe compassionate approach at Dovecote. My father has a safe and happy home and I feel part of the Dovecote Community.

Talisa Challis

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2008

Since joining Dovecote View in 2008, I have progressed through the company to the role of Registered Manager, and have now completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management.
I have been in the post as the Home Manager since 2012, and thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my role. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the home and ensuring our residents receive person-centred, quality care.


I am very lucky to have such a hard-working, caring team around me for support, and I am lucky to have worked alongside some of my colleagues for many years.
I am passionate about giving residents the best quality care, and I believe everyone should be cared for as if they are an extension of their own family, if it's not good enough for your own Mum or Gran, then it's not good enough! We provide personal care for up to 33 residents, and the Home is very much a family-orientated, friendly 'Home from Home'. There are not many job roles where you can say you love your job, but I feel very fortunate to have progressed to a role that I love.
