Glebe House is a 40 bedded home located in the scenic village of Southbourne in West Sussex. It’s location couldn’t be more perfect with a number of shops nearby and great transport links. Glebe is an integral part of the local community and is well known and respected. The home has a large staff team of all ages with a wealth of experience, there are a number of long serving local staff working within the home.

Glebe House offers thirty beds to the elderly and frail who can no longer live independently at home and ten beds to those who have been in hospital and need to rebuild their confidence before returning to live in their home again.

The home offers a calm and caring ambiance and the team always ensure that each and every resident feels at home.

The home's chefs provide daily home cooked meals for residents to enjoy in communal dining areas or in the comfort of their own room. Hot and cold drinks are provided throughout the day to ensure that residents are always well-hydrated. The beautiful gardens wrap fully around the home which ensures that each window has a garden view.

Activities and social interactions play a large part of life here at Glebe, each day they offer a range of activities such as singers, entertainers, crafts and games just to name a few and friendships are always encouraged. The home has many wonderful community links such as local schools, churches and social groups.

On my first visit to see my mother, I was happy to find such a welcome place. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I stayed to lunch and the food was very good and well priced. Good to see that my mother is happy and enjoying everything at Glebe house. I couldn't wish for a better place for her to

My brother had to be rushed into Glebe House due to various circumstances but from the minute he arrived, he was welcomed and cared for by the amazing staff. Within a matter of weeks his condition improved remarkably. This was due to the love and care he received and he was in a comfortable place that
catered for all his needs. I can't thank everyone there enough for what they did for my dear brother and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

A happy and cheerful occasion of Christmas lunch for residents and visitors. Visitors were welcome and called by their Christian names. Lovely meal served by kitchen staff and care staff. Very efficient, all helped to make an enjoyable time. Thank you everyone.

My son arrived at Glebe House after a dramatic lightning strike wrecked his previous home. He was so warmly welcomed. The staff were incredible and he felt safe and loved after a traumatic arrival. I have been consistently impressed by the staff - warm, friendly and competent and always working as a
team. Glebe House is very comfortable, residents can be private or enjoy a range of activities. Most importantly relatives like myself are welcomed and supported. This is from my son - 'It feels like home'!

Returned home from another great respite break at Glebe House on 16th December 2024. I went down to give my wife a break before Christmas, it was as always a pleasure to see familiar faces as well as a warm welcome back.
I was lucky enough to be there for the Christmas party and what a great spread
of food as well as good entertainment and it was a pleasure to get a chance to see everyone enjoying the afternoon as well. I always feel like I am back with old friends and my room there is just right for me and my assistance dog. I know I can be a bit of a challenge at times and am always looked after at any time of the day or night with the highest quality care I need.
Also love the opportunity to get a good soak in the bath.
Thank you everyone for making my stay a very pleasant and enjoyable time I look forward to being back in the spring.

My mother passed away after spending just 3 months in Glebe House. I know she enjoyed her time in the home and she found the staff helpful and understanding. My visits were occasional, due to living outside the UK, but when I did visit I found my mother happy and the staff most welcoming. She celebrated
her 100th birthday whilst in the home and a room was made available for friends and relatives to celebrate the occasion with her.

My husband is due to be discharged after 6 weeks having care and reablement rehab. I cannot praise all the staff and all professionals enough for their care and understanding of his needs. The food/cleanliness/everything here is wonderful. I, myself, had had lunch with my husband every Sunday and it's
10 out of 10 every time. It's totally dispelled my original idea of what care home life was like. It's airy, modern and lovely.

Excellent care staff. Cleaning is very good, happy staff. I haven't been here very long but what I have seen of the activities has been good. I have a good selection of food. Very good management, can't fault the staff here.

The care staff are great, happy, funny and get on very well with them. They keep my room tidy and clean. Lovely staff. The food is brilliant, always get what you ask for, can't fault them. Activities are very good, they try to please everyone. Very nice lady in management.

Irene

Irene Pudduck

Job Title: Service Manager

Joined: 2021

Irene started her career in health and social care as a care worker in a residential home at the age of 16. Staying and progressing for a further 22.5 years. In this time, Irene had a variety of job roles such as head of care, home trainer, NVQ assessor, team leader and deputy manager.


Irene says "I have supported many people from all walks of life and have a passion for providing excellent person-centred care. I aim to ensure that Glebe House runs in line with the CQC standards and you will always receive the warmest of welcomes here. The staff team at Glebe House are fabulous and we all support one another to ensure that our residents are safe and happy."


Glebe house provides a homely and friendly environment for the residents who choose to live here.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive difference that we make as a team for the residents.


Irene is super proud of what team Glebe are achieving day in and day out. She loves her role and couldn’t be happier.

At the age of 18 Emily decided that she wanted a change in career after a family member suggested she would make a great carer.

Emily has worked in many different settings supporting those with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, adolescents and the elderly.


Emily says: “I cannot imagine a career with more challenges and I love that no day is the same. My main goal is to ensure that our residents are healthy and happy. It’s so rewarding to see the positive difference that the Glebe House team make every single day. The staff are brilliant and are the core of the home and we all share the same vision and goals.”


With the support of Irene, the manager, we lead the team to ensure that all care provided is to the highest standard possible.


We have had a bumpy ride with the pandemic and have had our fair share of obstacles thrown at us but we always pull through as a team.
Emily will always do all she can to support her team.

Tracy McClure

Job Title: Service Administrator

I started at Glebe House in 2015 as a support worker. I then became a team leader and now I am the administrator.


My mum resided at Glebe House when she needed care, after seeing the fantastic care and support given to her I decided that I wanted to be a part of the Glebe House team.


My role as admin gives me the opportunity to support each of the residents and their families first hand.


I am privileged to meet future residents and their families and ensure that all of their needs are met whilst residing with us.


I love being part of such a supportive and dynamic staff team and spending time with each and every resident.

I started my career in Health and Social care back when I was a teenager
I have worked with an entire spectrum of people with differing health needs.


Over the last 11 years working in the care sector, I have gained many skills and achievements, my highest qualification is, Level 5 in Health and Social Care.


In my previous role I was a registered manager at a home for those with mental health needs. I then went on to have a baby girl and decided that I wanted to take a new career path still in the care sector so that I could use the skills and knowledge previously gained to give 100% to my new role.


I joined Glebe House as the second administrator. I enjoy the people I work with and every day is a new challenge, this gives me the opportunity to develop my skills to ensure I am always providing a fantastic service to the people we support and their families.

Started working in the home almost 9 years ago.


I am currently working as a team leader, which I really enjoy.
