Glebe House is a 40 bedded home located in the scenic village of Southbourne in West Sussex. It’s location couldn’t be more perfect with a number of shops nearby and great transport links. Glebe is an integral part of the local community and is well known and respected. The home has a large staff team of all ages with a wealth of experience, there are a number of long serving local staff working within the home.

Glebe House offers thirty beds to the elderly and frail who can no longer live independently at home and ten beds to those who have been in hospital and need to rebuild their confidence before returning to live in their home again.

The home offers a calm and caring ambiance and the team always ensure that each and every resident feels at home.

The home's chefs provide daily home cooked meals for residents to enjoy in communal dining areas or in the comfort of their own room. Hot and cold drinks are provided throughout the day to ensure that residents are always well-hydrated. The beautiful gardens wrap fully around the home which ensures that each window has a garden view.

Activities and social interactions play a large part of life here at Glebe, each day they offer a range of activities such as singers, entertainers, crafts and games just to name a few and friendships are always encouraged. The home has many wonderful community links such as local schools, churches and social groups.

Mum came into Glebe in March 2018 as she was no longer able to cope at home. We were sad that this time had come but couldn't have wished for a nicer home for Mum to come to. Everyone is friendly and happy. The food is very nice, the rooms are kept clean and the laundry is collected daily. We know Mum
is being well looked after and if there are any health issues a doctor is called to give Mum a once over. All in all, we are very happy with Glebe House. They do an amazing job.

As a family, we have been most impressed with the care given to our mum by the staff at Glebe House. For over 3 years, they have diligently cared for her and we have been regularly contacted when the need arose. The staff are most cheerful and supportive of her and take the greatest care to meet her
needs. The atmosphere at Glebe House is warm and welcoming and there's a variety of activities on offer from visiting owls to singers. We are grateful that mum is in a safe and caring home.

The care in this home is outstanding. Unending patience in difficult times. Cheerfulness and respect when dealing with residents. Management always available to help and advise. My brother being in this setting has lifted a huge load off my mind. He is safe. I am so impressed that I am now a volunteer,
helping with activities. Keep up the good work!

We have always found all the staff to be friendly to us and our Uncle. They treat him with the utmost kindness, always taking the time to make sure he has everything that he wants. The office staff are very prompt in making sure he is well looked after. The food is of a very high standard, always look
appetising. The rooms are kept very clean and tidy and he is always entertained by staff.

Mum is very happy here. She is well looked after. All the staff are pleasant nothing is too much trouble and all seem very caring. My wife and I are made to feel most welcome when we visit as though we are part of an extended family. I would recommend Glebe House to anyone needing care.

I have found the manager to be always available she always listens to my comments and acts on them. My friend who lives in Glebe House really loves being a part of the Glebe House family she is treated with care and respect and feels valued by the staff. It is a great relief to us as we do go away for
the winter but we know she is happy safe and well cared for a very big thank you to all the staff.

Irene

Irene Pudduck

Job Title: Service Manager

Joined: 2021

Irene started her career in health and social care as a care worker in a residential home at the age of 16. Staying and progressing for a further 22.5 years. In this time, Irene had a variety of job roles such as head of care, home trainer, NVQ assessor, team leader and deputy manager.


Irene says "I have supported many people from all walks of life and have a passion for providing excellent person-centred care. I aim to ensure that Glebe House runs in line with the CQC standards and you will always receive the warmest of welcomes here. The staff team at Glebe House are fabulous and we all support one another to ensure that our residents are safe and happy."


Glebe house provides a homely and friendly environment for the residents who choose to live here.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive difference that we make as a team for the residents.


Irene is super proud of what team Glebe are achieving day in and day out. She loves her role and couldn’t be happier.
Irene wholeheartedly thanks her team for what they do, especially throughout these testing times.

Emily Watts

Job Title: Deputy Manager

At the age of 18 Emily decided that she wanted a change in career after a family member suggested she would make a great carer.
The rest they say is history…


Emily has worked in many different settings supporting those with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, adolescents and the elderly.


Emily says: “I cannot imagine a career with more challenges and I love that no day is the same. My main goal is to ensure that our residents are healthy and happy. It’s so rewarding to see the positive difference that the Glebe House team make every single day. The staff are brilliant and are the core of the home and we all share the same vision and goals.”


With the support of Irene, the manager, we lead the team to ensure that all care provided is to the highest standard possible.


We have had a bumpy ride with the pandemic and have had our fair share of obstacles thrown at us but we always pull through as a team.
Emily will always do all she can to support her team.

Tracy McClure

Job Title: Service Administrator

I started at Glebe House in 2015 as a support worker. I then became a team leader and now I am the administrator.


My mum resided at Glebe House when she needed care, after seeing the fantastic care and support given to her I decided that I wanted to be a part of the Glebe House team.


My role as admin gives me the opportunity to support each of the residents and their families first hand.


I am privileged to meet future residents and their families and ensure that all of their needs are met whilst residing with us.


I love being part of such a supportive and dynamic staff team and spending time with each and every resident.

Stephanie Watts

Job Title: Service Administrator

Joined: 2021

I started my career in Health and Social care back when I was a teenager
I have worked with an entire spectrum of people with differing health needs.


Over the last 11 years working in the care sector, I have gained many skills and achievements, my highest qualification is, Level 5 in Health and Social Care.


In my previous role I was a registered manager at a home for those with mental health needs. I then went on to have a baby girl and decided that I wanted to take a new career path still in the care sector so that I could use the skills and knowledge previously gained to give 100% to my new role.


I joined Glebe House as the second administrator. I enjoy the people I work with and every day is a new challenge, this gives me the opportunity to develop my skills to ensure I am always providing a fantastic service to the people we support and their families.


Josephine

Josephine Hynek

Started working in the home almost 9 years ago.


I am currently working as a team leader, which I really enjoy.


Working in this role and supporting the residents and the staff team gives me immense job satisfaction.


I know that I have achieved when I can make at least one resident smile every day.
