Greensleeves EMI Care Home is a family run, private home located in Crawley in the county of West Sussex specialising in all types of dementia care including vascular, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. The provision of quality care within a home from home environment is fundamental to the services the home provides. Greensleeves has a selection of en-suite rooms catering for up to 34 ladies, which can be individualised with personal furniture and memorabilia. The original Victorian house has been converted and added to in order to provide warm and welcoming surroundings including an award-winning garden.

A dedicated team of qualified carers are at hand to provide a home from home service of individual care in a safe and relaxing environment. They are trained to a high standard that includes dementia and palliative care. They are supported by a cook, activities co-ordinator, laundry and cleaning staff to maintain a clean, comfortable environment where dignity and choice are paramount. In order to enhance this they also provide a range of extra services such as liaison with other professionals, hairdressing and chiropody, entertainment, newsletters and family events.

They recognise that the changes brought on by dementia not only affect the individual but also those family members and friends who care about them too.

Having dementia is not about stopping but about re-direction.

My mother was a resident of Greensleeves for 5 and a half years. I would whole heartedly recommend the home. The staff and management are approachable, friendly and very caring. The residents are treated with dignity and compassion. The only reason my mother has moved is because her condition now required
nursing care. No issues.

Once mum had decided that a care home would be the best place for her future years, we started to look for a suitable place. Greensleeves ticked all the boxes. A small privately run homely place where the overriding feeling was one of tender loving care. Mum settled in very well and soon her general
health and confidence improved significantly. She tells me weekly how kind everybody is to her. Her room is lovely and kept clean every day. Mum likes to spend much of her time in her room with her TV and radio she is supported in this choice but often encouraged to join in activities with other residents. Mum is able to have her hair done often and enjoys the foot spas also. I have found all the staff very kind and helpful be it the cleaner, cook, support staff, maintenance or the management team. Nothing is too much trouble. It feels like a kind and happy family home.

The care home is warm and friendly, staff are always welcoming and always seem to be pleased to see visitors. Near Christmas, Greensleeves had a party for the residents and their friends and relatives which was really well done and everyone appeared to enjoy it.
My mother likes it there and the staff
make a fuss of her (which she enjoys).

My mum was in Greensleeves Care Home for over 6 years until she passed away in August. When Mum first went into Greensleeves Care Home she was confused and her memory was poor but could talk, feed herself and was continent. She was anxious and tearful and could be stubborn. Over time, she deteriorated
and became immobile, unable to communicate or feed herself and was double incontinent. Greensleeves Care Home is like a family home, clean, well-maintained with good food. Mum enjoyed the activities. The staff are kind and understanding of the care and all the time professional. I know with Mum's reactions to staff, she grew to love and trust them as family. I had total trust that Mum was well cared for and her changing needs were met.

Hello, my name is Mary and I have been in the care sector since 1984. I worked in various sectors such as mental health, learning disability, elderly, acquired brain injury and neurological disorders. I joined Greensleeves in May 2022 and I am now the Registered Manager of the home.


What sets Greensleeves apart for me is that it is not just a care home, it is a home from home where our ladies are enabled to live the lives they choose. At Greensleeves, we do not just focus on the ladies’ physical needs but also their well-being needs and this is paramount to us, this means we enable and support them to be independent and we support them to pursue occupational tasks, interests and hobbies as well as supporting them to develop new ones. We also nurture and support the ladies to develop real friendships with their peers. Coming to a care home should be about continuing on life’s journey where you maintain your independence and continue to feel enriched and fulfilled. What it should not be is being unable to do the things one liked to do prior to admission, but supported to carry on doing all the things one liked to do in the past and present. We pride ourselves in ensuring all our ladies have the most person-centred care plan and this starts the moment they make the decision to come and stay at Greensleeves. We involve not only the ladies themselves in this process but also their loved ones so we can reflect all their needs, wishes and aspirations in their care plan. We very much value our staff and want to hear what they have to say, they are critical to the effective running of the home and make a formidable team. I am very proud of all of our achievements and we as a team look forward to keeping up the high standards. I will ensure I continue to drive improvements forward so we not only strive for the best but also deliver only the best.

I joined Greensleeves over 13 years ago and l started my career as a care assistant with the drive and dedication of management, my team and my passion for care, my career has grown and l am now a deputy manager.


I am committed to ensuring our vision is achieved by giving each resident outstanding person-centred care and ensuring that all residents are given the highest quality of care.


Our residents are involved in every step of their day and any improvements or changes we look to bring into the home to ensure they are involved in every aspect of their lives.


I strive to be supportive and to develop my teams to ensure our vision is achieved and each staff member feels part of the Greensleeves family, trying to ensure that their ideas, concerns and points of view are always heard and acted upon to be able to achieve a team of people fully involved their workplace.


While we have achieved and introduced many new ways of working and ideas, one of my most proudest achievements is the development of my leadership skills and being able to support the team to be one and happy when they are working at Greensleeves.

I joined the Greensleeves family almost 8 years ago as a carer and since then I have been promoted to deputy manager to support our residents and staff in living the highest quality of life that we can offer.


I love coming to Greensleeves and being able to see our residents living life to their fullest, being able to support them in carrying out activities and hobbies that they wish to do consoling residents and giving one-to-one if they are not having their best day.


I firmly believe that my purpose at Greensleeves is to support our residents in living their best lives and to have as much fun as possible, ensuring that they are involved in every aspect of their lives.


A lot of my day revolves around supporting the team to be able to give their best to the residents, carrying out quality audits focusing on the resident's happiness and fulfilment at home and developing new ideas and ways of working.


So far, one of the greatest achievements I have put in place at Greensleeves is Namaste care, which has been a real success for those who live with advanced dementia, offering them an activity that is almost one-to-one and attuned to supporting them in feeling relaxed and calm through massages, sensory activities, their favourite food and drink and supporting them in feeling comforted and relaxed.

My name is Marcos Oliveira, and I am from Brazil. I am 43 years old. I began working at Greensleeves in June 2019 with a very basic level of English. I am grateful to James and Declan for giving me the opportunity to start as a kitchen assistant. I quickly developed a passion for working in the kitchen, and within six months, I progressed to cooking.


What I truly enjoy about working at Greensleeves is witnessing the happiness and joy of our clients when they receive the service they deserve, delivered with passion and love.
