Kathleen's Lodge provides the highest level of care with that all important personal touch.

Everyone who comes to stay at the home has a plan of care developed which is specifically tailored to suit their needs. Invaluable input from the individual, along with their families and friends, ensures that the care provided allows them to live as independently as possible with dignity, privacy and respect and the opportunity to make their own choices.

The home offers a full and continuing programme of stimulating activities and events, for those who choose to participate, including reminiscence sessions, local entertainers, birthday parties, seasonal shows, barbecues, cake baking, arts and crafts and outings.

They are committed to their residents retaining links with the local community and regularly host various in house activities which include the local community. Residents have the freedom to join in as they choose and are always encouraged to continue with hobbies and past-times both inside and outside of the home.

The home receives regular visits from local GPs, hairdressers, dentists, opticians, chiropodists and other services can be provided as requested.

Kathleen's Lodge ensures that residents can attend religious services as they wish; either inside or outside of the home and all religious beliefs are respected at all times. They have Quality systems in their homes which helps them identify any shortfalls and work with the staff to correct them and also ensuring they are self-monitoring the care and quality they are providing.

My mother has been a resident at Kathleen's Lodge since January 2017 after being diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimer's. My late sister and I were relieved when mum settled into this wonderful care home. One thing we did observe was that mum was deteriorating rapidly when she was at her own home, but
shortly after settling into the care home, we noticed an improvement in her. The activities in the home are the key thing, and the residents all seem to enjoy them. The food is good and cups of tea, coffee, and fruit squash are in abundance. The staff are very caring and I am happy that mum is safe. In particular, during the pandemic, the safety procedures for the residents and staff were very well organised, and as far I am aware they have had no cases of infection.
There are regular postings on Facebook with photos and videos of the activities our loved ones are participating in, invaluable over the last year with restricted visits. If mum becomes ill or falls, I am contacted immediately.

I looked at a number of care homes before choosing Kathleen's Lodge. I must be honest and say some of the homes available are disgusting and unwelcoming. Kathleen's Lodge is the best there is. The staff from the office, kitchen, and carers are all kind, compassionate and professional. I'm happy my elderly
mum is looked after the way she is. The home is small and family-friendly and I'm treated with respect there.

I am extremely happy with all that the staff do for my mother and for the management who control her care plan. The facilities are very good and the dedicated activity coordinator is brilliant.

I am the Registered Manager of Kathleen's Lodge Care Home. I have been managing the Home for 21 years. I have been working in the care industry since the age of 16 including those with a range of physical and mental health needs. I then became Senior Carer to Care Manager to then becoming the Registered Manager of Kathleen's Lodge. I have gained many qualifications over the years including EDI Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care, NVQ Care Level 3, NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services, Certificate in Safe Handling of Medicines and many more. I have got 30+ years of care experience.

Eli has been with us since 2010 & is the most amazing cook. She meets all the dietary requirements of the residents. Eli will always cook separate meals if the residents fancy something different on the day. Eli also spoils the staff with her homecooked food. She truly is an amazing asset to Kathleen's lodge.
