Oakwood Court care home is one of the most homely and friendly around and they welcome people with open arms, like a big family. Their focus is on brighter living, so every day they bring a ray of sunshine to their residents. Their seven day a week sunny moments club provides a variety of one to one and group activities, based on residents hobbies and interests - there's something for everyone.

Each resident has an allocated key worker and the staff team receive regular training to make sure they provide the best care and support 24 hours a day.

The home has a 5* food hygiene certificate and the in-house catering team create delicious, nutritious home-cooked meals, reflecting residents preferences.

Engaging and involving residents is important and the team welcomes ideas, feedback and suggestions from all residents and their families so their service is continuously improved.

The home is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. The comfortable modern residential care home is in a lovely setting and the neighbouring Oakwood Flats sheltered scheme make this a welcoming community of older people.

Oakwood Court provides accommodation for 33 residents, made up of 31 single, one double room and one premium suite. Each room enjoys a pleasant outlook and has its own en-suite facilities. Respite facilities can also be provided for those in need of a short break.

Residents enjoy a light and airy communal lounge and dining room. There is a family room and various comfortable seating areas to catch up with loved ones.

The beautiful Beech Hurst Gardens are close by and Haywards Heath town centre is only a short walk or drive away, with a mainline train station and excellent connections to London.

Mum was with Oakwood for 5 years. She struggled to settle due to her Alzheimer's/dementia and the home was so supportive during that time. We found the staff to be friendly and caring throughout. As Mum's dementia progressed I felt reassured that she was being well cared for. The home was always spotless
and light and airy and most importantly full of life. We sat by Mum's bedside for many hours in her final 9 days and were so impressed with the care and dignity shown to Mum and also for us. Nothing was too much trouble and if you have to make the difficult decision of care for your loved one. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakwood. Thank you!

At 91 years old our mother recently came to the decision that she could no longer carry on living independently. She wanted more help and above all companionship. Having visited a few care homes, the moment she walked into Oakwood Court she knew this was where she wanted to be. From the outset everyone
involved couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating and have gone out of their way to help ensure a stress free transition. Nothing has been too much trouble. Her needs and wishes are sought and acted upon by everyone and Steve, the wonderful handyman, has done all he can to ensure her room is as cosy, comfortable and homely as can be. We were also impressed with how a recent medical situation was dealt with quickly and efficiently. What we her daughters always imagined would be a difficult time, has proved anything but. In just a few weeks, our mother has settled in, is happy and feels very safe and secure in her new home. Maybe the delicious food she enjoys plays a part too.

Oakwood feels like a family. Staff always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. A bright clean environment with a warm welcome to everyone. Any issues are dealt with immediately and everyone is kept up to date.

Oakwood Court has been a wonderful home for my mother. My siblings and I visited Mum several times a week and we were always met with a friendly welcome and offered a cup of tea. I know Mum also appreciated the warm and friendly atmosphere at Oakwood. The food was consistently good and as Mum became
frailer and less able to look after herself, there was always help at hand. Medical requirements were also met which was so helpful for us who had been handling Mum's meds for the years leading up to her move to Oakwood. Choosing a care home requires a lot of thought but if I was choosing again with the knowledge I now have, I'd definitely pick Oakwood for a second time.

The day my wife first went home, we had a big welcome banner and a goody hamper in the room. She felt at home very quickly, and all the carers were very attentive at all times. The management was always ready to help with any problems. The home was very clean and the food was excellent.

I viewed 11 homes for my 90 year-old mother before choosing Oakwood Court and after nearly a year, I know we made the right choice! The home is run by a housing association and the professionalism shows. It is purpose-built so the bedrooms are roomy and have their own bathrooms. The communal areas are
homely but dignified, and everything is spotlessly clean. There is a proper kitchen with fresh meals and homemade cakes every day. The hospitality is great, with regular invites to social events and activities. All the staff at every level have been friendly and welcoming and staff turnover seems low. I'm particularly impressed by the healthcare support. The senior carers communicate regularly with me and respond quickly to any changes or concerns. Since moving in Mum has become less anxious, her eating, hydration and mobility have improved, and she is more confident about joining in and trying new things - so all in all I think Oakwood is doing an amazing job!

When Mum went into Oakwood Court a year ago, she was very low. She'd given up with life. In just a few months, with the help and support at Oakwood Court, her spirits raised, and her health improved mentally and physically. Clean and tidy home, with caring staff. Residents always look clean and tidy, in-house hairdresser and plenty of organised entertainment and arts and crafts.
My mother has been a resident for three years now, and her room is kept clean and tidy and smells fresh. If she wants to join in with activities,
she can, and if she prefers her own company for art, she either uses the main table in the lounge or in her room.

I now have a Diploma in General Nursing, and both a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Care Services. I enjoy my role as care home manager and get satisfaction from helping residents and seeing them happy in our home.


I love my job because it's so rewarding leading a team and supporting our residents to live a bright life and putting them and their families at the heart of everything we do.

"I have been the Deputy Manager at Oakwood Court since April 2024. My journey in the care field started in 2017, beginning with my BTEC in Nursing which equipped me with a strong foundation for my career. Following comprehensive training in various hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, and palliative care, I transitioned to roles in care homes. Starting as a support worker and progressing to assistant general manager back in Spain, I discovered genuine fulfilment in this environment.


Since relocating to the UK, I've served as a Senior Carer whilst qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist. What draws me most to working with older people is the profound sense of gratitude they express when receiving care and support. Witnessing their appreciation fuels my passion for this work every day.

Mealtimes are one of the most important parts of the day, especially for socialising and residents' wellbeing. There's nothing better than seeing residents tucking into a home cooked, hearty meal and getting good feedback from them, it brings joy to me and makes my job rewarding. I am supported in the kitchen by a Chef and two Kitchen Assistants and spend time with residents listening to their feedback and menu ideas.

I started working at Oakwood Court in April 2022 and coming from mainly an administrative background, this is my first role in a care home. After only being here a short time, I sensed what a warm, friendly, caring home it is. It really does feel like “home from home”. I am the first port of call for all visitors to the home such as relatives, friends, nurses and tradespeople and I keep all the administrative paperwork up to date. But what I enjoy most about my job is interacting with the lovely residents.


I deliver their post and help read letters from family and friends if they are unable to do so themselves. Seeing the joy on their faces when I am reading to them is what I find so rewarding.

There is generally a lot of cleaning, tidying, and ensuring everything is in safe working order. I will also decorate rooms when they become vacant and keep the rest of the home looking as good as it can be.


I very much enjoy spending time talking to residents when I’m working in their rooms and supporting the care team in any way I can. Sometimes I have the opportunity to join in activities with residents such as gardening or singing, which is a great privilege.


I may have my week planned, but often my work can be reactive, you never really know what you’re going to walk into in the morning, one of the many reasons I love working here."
