Oakwood Court care home is one of the most homely and friendly around and they welcome people with open arms, like a big family. Their focus is on brighter living, so every day they bring a ray of sunshine to their residents. Their seven day a week sunny moments club provides a variety of one to one and group activities, based on residents hobbies and interests - there's something for everyone.

Each resident has an allocated key worker and the staff team receive regular training to make sure they provide the best care and support 24 hours a day.

The home has a 5* food hygiene certificate and the in-house catering team create delicious, nutritious home-cooked meals, reflecting residents preferences.

Engaging and involving residents is important and the team welcomes ideas, feedback and suggestions from all residents and their families so their service is continuously improved.

The home is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. The comfortable modern residential care home is in a lovely setting and the neighbouring Oakwood Flats sheltered scheme make this a welcoming community of older people.

Oakwood Court provides accommodation for 33 residents, made up of 31 single, one double room and one premium suite. Each room enjoys a pleasant outlook and has its own en-suite facilities. Respite facilities can also be provided for those in need of a short break.

Residents enjoy a light and airy communal lounge and dining room. There is a family room and various comfortable seating areas to catch up with loved ones.

The beautiful Beech Hurst Gardens are close by and Haywards Heath town centre is only a short walk or drive away, with a mainline train station and excellent connections to London.

Mum had been a resident at Oakwood Court Care home for about six years but sadly passed away in October. I have nothing but admiration for all of the staff at Oakwood Court for the way they looked after Mum during her stay and especially when mum's health deteriorated toward the end of her life. They
did an amazing job of keeping mum comfortable and I was always kept informed of Mum's well being during her residency, especially during the Covid lockdown periods where all of the staff went above and beyond keeping everyone safe.
I would not hesitate in recommending Oakwood Court Care home, they are truly amazing.

Oakwood Court is a very homely place with a lovely atmosphere.
The staff are very polite, kind and very attentive to the needs of the residents and visitors.
The activities are fun and take into account all levels of abilities. Visitors can participate as well, I love colouring and sand.

This would have been my mothers second care home (the first proved incapable in our eyes). Eventually however my mother ended up going to a different area for her care home. Had she stayed in this area we would have chosen Oakwood Court as her home.
When we visited for a tour, and lunch, the staff
and setup so far outweighed anything we had experienced previously that my mothers immediate response when we'd left was to ask to book a place on the waiting list.
What sold it to us? Purpose-built is without a doubt what's needed for someone in need of care, and the background support of the Senior House Officer showed in the gentle, patient and kind approach of all the staff we met.
I can't assign meaningful marks to the individual categories for obvious reasons - however, I feel sure they would all have been high as we were more than comfortable with everything we saw on our visit.

Mum-in-law has only been here 4 weeks seems really happy. It is lovely that other is entertainment/crafts etc every day. We have met staff and they are all very kind and attentive.

I found communication good whilst my husband was in care for two weeks. The staff were friendly and I believe he was looked after and happy. There didn't seem to be a problem with his clothing which was very pleasing after having had a bad experience elsewhere.

I have visited the care home twice now, and both times there has been a good atmosphere. All residents are happy including my grandmother. So thanks to all the staff for everything you do. It's of great comfort to the family to know our family member is well looked after.

Always a nice atmosphere in the home. Warm and inviting. Friendly, helpful staff. My 100-year-old mother has been a resident for three years and as a family, we know that Oakwood Court is the best place that she could be. I would recommend Oakwood Court to anybody who asked me.

My pernickety 95-year-old mother stayed here for a week in mid-August. Her comments were that "the staff were lovely and caring" and "the food was excellent". She appreciated the bowl of biscuits and crisps, so she could have a little snack when she felt like it. She found that her room was larger than
expected, never felt cold. She sleeps on an air mattress at home, unfortunately, due to miscommunication, this wasn't provided at Oakwood, but even so, my mother said she was very comfortable in bed, so it wasn't a problem. She said "there wasn't much going on" but I think this was down to the Covid constraints that were in place. I have marked activities as 'poor', however, that is probably not reflective of the current situation.


Mother is making a return visit during November, which tells you a lot!

We have always had a varied and full 'sunny moments club', which is our programme of daily activities, and since early September, activities are now delivered by our two dedicated Activity Coordinators. Activities include both one to one and group sessions, which are based around residents interests, as well as giving residents the opportunity to try new things. We are following government guidelines and currently, all residents, as they were throughout the summer, can enjoy each others company in our communal spaces, including the lounge and activities area. We welcome your mother back to stay anytime, so she can enjoy the activities arranged!

Mum has dementia; she has been at Oakwood Court since 2013. The staff are all friendly, considerate and caring. Mum has always been happy and well looked after. She has a lovely room with her own furniture. She has a choice of food for all three meals and has never had any complaints. Mum is now 101-years-old,
and her dementia now causes more problems, but I am happy that she is very well cared for.

Oakwood Court has recently had their first event, with up to two family members or friends were invited, for the first time in eighteen months. As usual, it was very well organised with party decorations, balloons, an excellent buffet of food and drink and also entertainment.

Throughout the pandemic, the Oakwoods team have shown due diligence throughout this time. My mother has had great care and is so very happy. We could not ask for more.
On dementia care, it's perfect, good stimulating entertainment which is inclusive if the resident wishes to join in. My mother is partially
sighted and is always asked to join in.

My dad never wanted to go into a care home, but at 92 he had to due to ill health. I was very pleased with all aspects of this home and my dads' reaction to it. He loved it from day one. Everyone is very caring and welcoming. It is very clean with excellent food served at meal times. Normally they have
a wide range of activities for residents, including dancing which my dad loved to do. In January 2020 we found out Dad had terminal cancer, and he asked me to make sure he could stay at the home to the end which he could as they do palliative care. He really wanted to stay there. It was very sad because we wished he could have had several more years there because he was so happy! I would highly recommend this care home as you have no need to worry about your nearest and dearest being safe, clean and happy.
All the staff are excellent caring and warm people. Best wishes.

I am very happy with the care and support that my dad receives at Oakwood Court. He has improved in his mental state despite a general decline due to his dementia. Lots of activities, which my dad is encouraged to join in. There is always something planned.

I now have a Diploma in General Nursing, and both a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 in Leadership and Management of Care Services. I enjoy my role as care home manager and get satisfaction from helping residents and seeing them happy in our home.


I love my job because it's so rewarding leading a team and supporting our residents to live a bright life and putting them and their families at the heart of everything we do.

My journey in the care field started in 2017, beginning with my BTEC in Nursing which equipped me with a strong foundation for my career. Following comprehensive training in various hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, and palliative care, I transitioned to roles in care homes. Starting as a support worker and progressing to assistant general manager back in Spain, I discovered genuine fulfilment in this environment.


Since relocating to the UK, I've served as a Senior Carer whilst qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist. What draws me most to working with older people is the profound sense of gratitude they express when receiving care and support. Witnessing their appreciation fuels my passion for this work every day.

I have over 25 years experience in catering and have been a Chef Manager here since 2013. I love food and cooking and I understand the importance of food. My father was Spanish and my upbringing has revolved around family and food.


Mealtimes are one of the most important parts of the day, especially for socialising and residents' wellbeing. There's nothing better than seeing residents tucking into a home cooked, hearty meal and getting good feedback from them, it brings joy to me and makes my job rewarding. I am supported in the kitchen by a Chef and two Kitchen Assistants and spend time with residents listening to their feedback and menu ideas.

I started working at Oakwood Court in April 2022 and coming from mainly an administrative background, this is my first role in a care home. After only being here a short time, I sensed what a warm, friendly, caring home it is. It really does feel like “home from home”. I am the first port of call for all visitors to the home such as relatives, friends, nurses and tradespeople and I keep all the administrative paperwork up to date. But what I enjoy most about my job is interacting with the lovely residents.


I deliver their post and help read letters from family and friends if they are unable to do so themselves. Seeing the joy on their faces when I am reading to them is what I find so rewarding.

"I take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the building making sure all the checks have been done, including fire and gas safety, water and electrical testing. My role includes more basic tasks such as unblocking shower wells, checking light bulbs and cleaning the bins - just as important! There is generally a lot of cleaning, tidying, and ensuring everything is in safe working order. I will also decorate rooms when they become vacant and keep the rest of the home looking as good as it can be.


I very much enjoy spending time talking to residents when I’m working in their rooms and supporting the care team in any way I can. Sometimes I have the opportunity to join in activities with residents such as gardening or singing, which is a great privilege.


I may have my week planned, but often my work can be reactive, you never really know what you’re going to walk into in the morning, one of the many reasons I love working here."
