My Nanna came into Oak Hill a couple of months ago and she has really improved in her health and has adapted to her new home.
We can settle with the knowledge that she is safe and well looked after in a warm and friendly environment.

Overall, the care home manager and staff are amazing. The care and attention gives to my mother-in-law and including the family has been first class.
The decision to stay in this home is an easy one and would highly recommend this home to anyone.

The home is light and airy with good-sized rooms. The management and staff are ao friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They made a beautiful birthday cake for my Dad and they look after my Mum when she visits. Although the food is excellent it could be better when served and in common with all
care homes, unmarked clothing tends to disappear in the laundry. Those are two small gripes when compared to the excellent personal care and facilities.

Oakhill staff have been absolutely amazing in helping both me and my mum at a very difficult time. They have gone out of their way to ensure we are made to feel welcome and to make me feel that when I leave my mum she is safe and well cared for.
The manager has been supportive and understanding throughout
the whole process and gave me reassurance that my mum could be cared for at Oakhill as she deserves to be.

My aunt has been in the care home for about 7 weeks now and I am very pleased with the home and the care provided.
The manager is always available to answer any questions and they have helped us to adjust to having someone move into a care home.


The environment is warm and welcoming and everyone

always has time for us from the minute you walk in the door, the receptionist is always happy to see us and offers refreshments and everyone goes out of their way to make us feel special.

My grandpa has only been in the home a few days and he has settled so well and seems happy, The staff make sure that she has everything he needs and cannot do enough for him or us. The care staff are so kind and always smiling, the food is excellent and the home is clean and tidy and really feels like

My mother, father and I are extremely happy with the care my father is receiving at Oakhill House Care Home. The staff are very caring and friendly. They do all they can for the residents. We were delighted to find a home in Horsham that is so good and efficient. Our only criticism is that we are still
waiting for a monthly bill which we need so that we can organise finances around my mother.

The caring and nursing staff are superb. The kitchen staff produce good meals and are conscious of what my husband likes and does not like. The management over the past couple of years has had a number of changes. I hope it will now improve. I find it very expensive without any grants.

Facilities here could be very good with effective management of staff, an increase in the level of cleanliness, tidiness and motivation and for staff to take more initiative and notice of their surroundings. There is a tendency to 'make do' and 'leave' rather than take responsibility and action - eg
dirty worktops, spilt food, bloodstained pads from injections left lying around after use.

From the outset, the staff have been excellent - so friendly and helpful. I noticed a change in my father almost immediately - after just a week he was joining in with the activities. I am able to leave him there and not worry about whether he is ok, which has been a big relief to me lately.

Who would ever want to put their mum in a care home? Unfortunately, we could no longer give her good enough care at home. At Oakhill, it is the compassion of the staff which is outstanding. They treat mum and all the residents with great dignity and genuine concern. There is a new and vibrant activities
coordinator who is bringing much-needed activities to the home which has been lacking for several months due to staffing problems. Things are looking up now and we know whenever we go home, that we are leaving mum in safe and loving hands.

With a 20-year career in the caring profession, Elga has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Having worked at Oakhill House since March 2023, Elga closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident.


She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


Talking about her track record, Elga said:
