First impressions were that
I had issues with the hospital discharging my father at short notice, and Oakland already having an admission and couldn't take another. I was very stressed, however, the manager took over and called the hospital and dealt with it all for me; she took all the worry away at a very stressful time.
Since then, we have visited most days. Mum has had lunch there, they have quizzes most afternoons, and we are always welcome - nothing is too much trouble.
Every staff member who I've seen has been amazing. My stepfather has decided to stay as he loves it there and is happy, and that is all you can ask for.
Thank you to the manager and all the staff at Oakland.

He brings 14 years of senior leadership experience in improving the quality of life for older adults. Kevin is a seasoned health and social care executive with a passion for delivering person-centred care, with a focus on professionalising care roles, implementing innovative solutions, and fostering a culture of excellence.
Throughout his career, Kevin has transformed services that serve the elderly across the UK. He has led non-profit and for-profit organisations providing care homes, home care, assisted living, memory care, and rehabilitation services. Under Kevin’s direction, these provisions of care have thrived through a person-centred philosophy and innovative solutions.
Kevin works diligently to leverage his experience and perspective to benefit Oakland Care Group’s residents, families, and employees.
As a Director for West Sussex Partners in Care, the local association for care providers, Kevin is committed to advocating for the social care sector.
Kevin is a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management. He was a Top 10 Finalist of the Social Care Top 30 Leadership Awards in 2023 and a Finalist in the Social Care Top 30 for 2024. Additionally, he was included in the Care Home Professional’s Power List of 2023 and 2024 in the category of Executive Management. He has published articles in Care Talk Magazine and Care Home Professional.
