Rookwood Residential Care Home is situated close to Burgess Hill town centre, in a quiet tree lined avenue and is close to the shops, bus routes and other amenities.

Rookwood is an exceptionally attractive residence for retired ladies and gentlemen and is designed to meet the care needs of those who wish to be in a pleasant, social and well looked after home.

All rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard. Each room has a plasma TV, Wifi and a free private telephone. The dining room has personal table service and the catering is fresh, wholesome and varied.

There is a choice of two comfortable lounges. One of these lounges leads onto Rookwood's large beautifully maintained garden with sheltered patio areas for those who wish to enjoy afternoon tea outdoors during the warmer months. The dedicated Activity team organise a monthly programme of recreational pastimes to enhance daily living within the home. Outings are also organised on a regular basis.

From the day she arrived at Rookwood, we felt confident that she would be looked after in a caring and respectful way. This has proved to be the case.
The staff are very caring and always welcoming and keep us informed of any situation which may arise.
We can see that the all of the management and
staff work hard to ensure that Rookwood is a happy and enjoyable place for her to live.

We have been very pleased with the standard of care given. The manager has been extremely helpful in keeping us informed of any problems whatever they are and it has enabled us to be able to be assured that all is well if we hear nothing to the contrary. As we live a long way from the home this is especially
important to us.

Rookwood is an excellent home and the standard of care is impressive. It seems to me to offer care between a residential and a nursing home. The standards are high and the team there have been instrumental in improving my mother's health. Food quality, care quality, the home itself and activities offered
are excellent.

The standard of care is excellent, a warm welcome from all staff at all times when visiting my mother. My mother has been at Rookwood coming up for one year and the change in her has been great thanks to Rookwood. A excellent run care home.

Zoe

Zoe Francis

Job Title: Registered Manager

Joined: 2021

Hi, I’m Zoe and I am the Registered Manager at Rookwood Residential Home.

I attended the sixth form when I left school and studied child development and health and social care.

Whilst going to the sixth form I also attended Nescot College once a week and was in a work placement at a junior school in Ashtead. During this time, I was also in a day centre for adults with disabilities.

I started my career in older people's care at a nursing home in Burgess Hill where I worked for 8 years. I started in the role of health care assistant and after a few years progressed to a senior role. During my time there I undertook my level 2 & 3 diplomas in health and social care, and also completed level 2 qualifications in dementia care, and team leading.

I began my employment at South Coast Nursing Homes in May 2020 as a health care assistant at Eastridge Manor and was able to quickly progress into a senior role after just 3 months due to my past knowledge and experience.
I remained at Eastridge Manor until August 2021 when I was promoted to the Head of Care position at Rookwood. I was then promoted again to trainee manager in October 2022

My next goals are to further my knowledge and complete level 5 qualifications so I can continue to provide the best care possible to our residents and support my team to the best of my abilities.

Keri Gray

Job Title: Team Leader

Joined: 2018

I left college in 2018 where I gained an A Level in Health and Social Care.

I started working for SCNH at Eastridge Manor in September 2018 as a domestic. I transferred to Rookwood as a Care Assistant in October 2019, since working at Rookwood I was promoted to Senior Care Assistant and am now the Team Leader.


I have completed many courses, including diabetes, care planning, first aid and medication.


My hobbies include reading, baking, socialising with friends and going out for dinner.


I hope to continue to gain experience to allow me to progress in my career.

Liz Gray

Job Title: Home Administrator and Welfare Liaison

Joined: 2007

Hi, my name is Liz and I started working for South Coast Nursing Home in May 2007 as the Administrator for Eastridge Manor EMI Nursing Home, in October 2020 I also took on the role of Rookwood’s Administrator, I enjoyed working at both homes for just over 2 years when I was given the opportunity to work full time at Rookwood as the Administrator and Welfare Liaison, in my new position I will be getting involved a lot more with the residents and relatives booking appointments and helping with trips out with the residents which I am looking forward to.


I have completed my NVQ in Business and Administration, passed the AAT bookkeeping qualification, and I am currently working on the Care Certificate and completing our Fire Warden training.


I enjoy travelling and have visited many cities including Prague, Barcelona, New York, Rome, Seville, with many more to go.

I started working for SCNH in April 2011 as a care assistant and was then promoted to welfare manager at Eastridge Manor.


I joined the activities team at Rookwood in October 2022 after a short period of retirement.


My hobbies include arts and crafts, gardening and exercise. I am a qualified complementary therapist. I am able to use all my skills and hobbies in providing meaningful activities and projects for our residents.


I thoroughly enjoy working as an Activities Co-Ordinator and have job satisfaction every working day.
