Summerlands is situated in pleasant surroundings, while being a short walk from village amenities, allowing residents to pursue an active and fulfilling lifestyle as much as they wish.

All rooms are decorated, fully furnished and en-suite. Residents are free to bring their own personal possessions – perhaps a favourite chair or even a bed, to make their room home from home. They may be as private as they wish or make use of the friendly atmosphere in the main lounge or dining areas.

Staff cover is provided thoughout the day and night and every effort is made to meet individual needs with respect, giving recognition to the right of privacy underpinned with security.

Wholesome food is prepared by the chefs, who take pride in providing a varied and well-prepared menu. Fresh, appetising meals form the basis of a balanced diet, catering for individual tastes, preferences and special diets, for example diabetics.

Mum liked Summerlands straightaway and we agreed. We now know that she is safe, well cared for and in excellent hands. The staff are welcoming, understanding, show kindness and compassion, and are very approachable. There is a relaxed atmosphere about the place and plenty of laughter amongst staff and
residents. It is obvious that the happiness and wellbeing of residents is important to all that work there. They care about individual needs and take the time to get to know residents who are new. I liked the fact that the owner is a visible part of the team and available to discuss things with. The menus are varied and good quality which Mum really appreciates. The various activities available cater for everyone and are optional. The gardens and pond area are lovely and weather permitting Mum likes enjoying them. Everyone is respectful to residents and very professional in their work which includes communicating with family members when necessary. Thank you Summerlands, keep up the good work.

Excellent home, caring dedicated staff. My mother has been in Summerlands about a year, she is 96 and is in an environment where the family no longer worry whether she is safe as was the case when she lived on her own. She looks (and acts) 10 years younger!

I feel extremely lucky that we found Summerlands when seeking a care home for my mother. It is welcoming, comfortable, clean, well-run and all staff are very caring. The gardens are lovely and there are lots of activities for residents. Elderly folk can be hard to please but nothing has been too much
trouble to make my mothers settling in process a happy one.

My mother was in Summerlands for exactly a year. In this time staff were excellent, so caring and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room mum had was always clean and the staff so helpful. Mum died unexpectedly in her sleep on Easter Day night. The staff who cared for her that night were brilliant
and we as a family (I have 3 siblings) are so grateful to them. She received wonderful care during the year and staff even visited her when she had a spell in hospital. The managers are excellent and always so helpful. We will miss going to the home and I would thoroughly recommend anyone going there.

We moved my mother into Summerlands just before Christmas 2015 and have been so impressed with every aspect ever since. Despite my mother's high standards on everything she is very happy at Summerlands and tells me it feels just like being in a luxury hotel.


Every aspect of the bed/sitting room

my mother occupies was totally re-fitted and redecorated before my mother moved in, including the entire en-suite shower room, and to a very high standard and yet my mother has been encouraged to have personal touches added to make the room feel 'more like home', including shelves for her photos and pictures on the walls (the work done by the home's maintenance staff at no extra cost).


The owner is always available and does everything in her power to make all her guests (residents) to look on Summerlands as their own home.


I cannot fault any aspect of the home.


We feel extremely fortunate to have found this care home for my mother and I know my father would have been very impressed.

Looking around the area with my siblings at about 10 homes, we were instantly drawn to this lovely, warm, clean, happy 'home'. 'Home' is the word the conjures up the ethos of this place.

The staff are exceptional, they all go over and above the average, each resident is treated as an individual,
there is always something going on activity wise, for those who want it.
The care my mother receives is exceptional. I would be very happy to end my days in this lovely care home, and am so relieved that my mother is in the best place.

My sister and I reviewed the care home options in Haywards Heath and chose Summerlands and continue to be happy with the care facilities. My mother is happy and eating better, a balanced diet, enjoys company, spends her days in the day room taking part in the varied social activities. The home is run
and managed by caring people, mums room was refurbished before she moved in on 26/10/15. The home is continually being refurbished and a new kitchen is being built to provide a better choice of meals and I believe a new dining room. Social activities excellent including chair exercises, art, flower arranging. A pantomime was held before Christmas, mum took part and sang and family were invited. Outings arranged for residents and care support.

Mum has just increased her visits to three days a week and this has made a massive difference to her mutual well being. She loves to come to Summerlands and really looks forward to being with other residents and staff and always enjoys the activities and lunch. I would not hesitate to recommend them
as I feel mum is completely safe and well cared for. The staff go that extra mile to keep an eye on her especially when I am away. I am very confident with the care mum receives whilst with them.

My mother moved into Summerlands in March 2015, within six weeks she no longer had her home, health or independence, at 91 very hard. All the staff at Summerfield treated her with care, respect and warmth. They took time to listen to her concerns and also to the family. When mum had urgent medical
problem and needed to go into hospital they were very prompt. The staff visited her in hospital, and welcomed her home again. The food is excellent and the external facilities such podiatry, hairdresser well organised. All done with a smile.

Mum moved in after a deliberation on the 27/8/15. Until this date, mum lived in a detached bungalow in a picturesque village, on the edge of the Cotswold's. It was therefore a massive change for her. The staff from the owners to managers and carers have been excellent from day 1 and mum has settled
in really well. She was worried about the food, which has proved not be a problem as she is eating really well and enjoying the variety. She has joined in a few of the activities including art classes and bingo which she has enjoyed. So far, everything is positive and it has been a real weight off our minds knowing mum is safe, being looked after well and happy.

Summerlands is fantastic. It is a caring and understanding facility with ample stimulation and activities. It is obvious to me that the staff have had proper dementia training and are lovely people too. My mum especially loves the food and they go out of their way to accommodate her individual tastes.

My mother moved into Summerlands in March 2015, and she has settled very well. The staff are always kind, caring and friendly. They all wish to make residents feel catered and well cared for. The rooms are always clean and the food is excellent (all home cooked). It is not a grand care home but there
is always a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and residents are very well cared for. Families and friends are welcome to visit, and take residents out. All in all, in my view, it is a truly wonderful care home.

My father came to stay at Summerlands for 10 weeks while his wife was taken into hospital following a serious accident. He settled very quickly thanks to the kindness and patience of the wonderful staff. They gave him lots of reassurance which he needed due to his early dementia and the stress he was
under. They were also very supportive to us a family. We visited every day and were always made very welcome. My father enjoyed the company of all the staff and other residents. There were activities every day. The staff even put the TV on in the lounge when they knew there was football on! My father particularly enjoyed the freedom of walking round the beautiful gardens. I would not hesitate to recommend Summerlands to anyone - it really feels like home. Every single member of staff (including kitchen and garden staff) were amazing!
