Quite often the residents like to ensure a visit does not impact any routine they have around meal times or communal activities they may be taking part in.

Mum moved into Sussex Grange in October 2023 following a week of respite earlier in the year. She had received home care from Sussex Grange since 2021 so it seemed only natural for her to move in. It is a small home and in every way, it is home to its residents, not an institution. All of the people
who work there are committed to caring and kindness. My mum loved it there. She really enjoyed the food, she enjoyed that the carers took time to talk to her and listen to her stories. There were daily activities but it was down to Mum whether she joined in or not, depending on how she was feeling. She had a short stay in hospital before she died, I asked if she could come back to Sussex Grange for terminal care and the answer was "Of course, this is her home". Her end-of-life care was superb. The family were allowed access at all times of day and night to be with Mum and we were welcomed and cossetted at a difficult time. At all times Mum was treated as an individual, with dignity and respect.

My father has been a daycare resident for about 7 weeks, he comes home every time full of praise for the home, I did have my doubts as to how he would adjust to this, but I cannot fault how brilliant the care staff all are, they have made him feel so comfortable and are very welcoming, they have some
kind of activities almost every day, which he participates in and loves, he loves the food, especially the home-baked bread which they do, also the cakes, he frequently is sent home with two slices of cake, as we have to pick him up on the tea round, Overall very satisfied and it has also taken the pressure off my mother, so she can have a free day with no worries. I would highly recommend Sussex Grange, thank you to all for making my father's stay a very enjoyable one.

He fully engages with all the staff, residents and participates in all of the activities, in particular the mobility and mindfulness sessions, this activity is a big hit. I agree about the cake treats, I saw this myself yesterday as dad was passing by the tea trolley. Dad has settled in so well, we all thoroughly enjoy seeing him.

Our Dad has led an active independent life until earlier this year when needs changed and he decided to move into Residential Care. Having retired to live in Selsey 35 years ago, we began our search and quickly came across Sussex Grange, offering a beautifully maintained home and gardens. Dad has been
a resident for six months and the whole team provides care and support in a kind and caring way, where residents' individual needs are of paramount importance, nothing has been too much trouble. So much thought is given to celebrating events at every opportunity to enrich the resident's lives, as well as extending invitations to their families. This has proved to be so much more than a home from home and we are so very grateful.

Dad was first looked after by the excellent care home team. When he became unwell the staff recognised that Mum was struggling and were able to offer us respite care which was very much appreciated. Dad has now become a permanent resident. He is very content and we are happy knowing he is being well
looked after.
Sussex Grange is a lovely care home set in beautiful gardens which the residents enjoy to the full. It has a lovely family atmosphere and the staff and managers are very kind and caring. Visitors are welcome at any time and are always offered a drink and biscuits. Mum visits Dad regularly and staff welcome Mum to Sunday dinner each week which is a highlight of her week. In addition to a weekday daily activity, a lot of thought and work goes into arranging special events from film nights to Holiday Week, from coffee mornings to a very memorable Father's Day Afternoon Tea complete with tablecloth and flowers. Sussex Grange is a home-from-home. A real gem.

Holiday Week 2024 -
What a great week! A variety of events to sort all ages and lovely to see all the generations mix. It was delightful to be invited into their home to join in and residents, relatives and staff alike seemed to enjoy themselves. Food and drink was generously provided to enhance the
experience. A very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and the care and priority given to the residents was very evident. Clearly a lot of thought and work went into organizing and delivering the event and it was appreciated by all those who attended. The fact the residents are still talking about it weeks after the event shows what great memories have been made. A great success - looking forward to the next one!

A true care home with a real family home atmosphere. Every time I visit I always reflect and think, would I be happy with my mother or father living here and the answer every time is YES. Both the residents and staff are always happy, I often am taken back by the amount of love and respect the care
staff show the residents. The residents themselves always share stories of activities the staff have been doing with them, from going for walks to sitting together having a cup of tea and a chat or even pub quizzes and cinema nights in the evening. I have also witnessed resident needing to be helped for personal care reasons, this has always been done with compassion whilst keeping the resident's dignity, no embarrassment for the residents. Nothing is too much trouble. It truly is a family feel within the home and I love to visit each week.

The time my mum spent in Sussex Grange was uplifting for her. She enjoyed her time here. She liked all the staff and thought the staff did their best to keep her happy and content. The last two weeks of my mum's life she was really looked after with care and dignity.

A true “care” home with a real family home atmosphere. Both the residents and staff are happy, and nothing is too much trouble, from personal care to food and drink requests. We always know our father is in safe hands and feel confident he is well cared for.

It was very nice, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I found no cobwebs. Nice location. My daughter's dog could visit, and I am very fond of her. I enjoyed talking to the other residents. The gardens were lovely, and I could walk around them.

My mother initially started receiving home care from the excellent team at Sussex Grange. She has now moved into the home and has a lovely, good size en suite room which has a small patio area. The staff are always very welcoming when we visit and take the time to get to know the residents personally.
The food is of a good standard and there are plenty of activities arranged. The management team are very approachable and listens to any concerns we may have, They recently facilitated it so that my mother could watch the live stream of a family wedding which she was unable to attend and made it a special day for her.

My uncle has been a resident at the Sussex Grange for a number of years. The care home is an attractive building with well-maintained gardens within easy reach of village amenities and within a five-minute walk of the beach. In-house entertainment and various outings are arranged for the residents.
My uncle occupies a spacious room overlooking the gardens, and he has often told me how well he is cared for by such friendly staff. I, too, always receive a warm welcome from all the caring staff. I would highly recommend The Sussex Grange.

My father has been a resident for at least 18 months, and he is looked after by the whole team with care, compassion and gentle humour. We, his family, feel that his needs are being met 100% and that he is being cared for with dignity and respect. You feel welcomed when visiting, and the manager and
team are incredibly helpful when we have any queries. The atmosphere of the home makes it such a happy place to visit.

The management and staff at Sussex Grange are extremely kind and thoughtful. They were especially so in January 2021 when circumstances required additional support and above all a caring nature. I have always found the staff are very person-centred in the way they relate to residents and always put the residents needs first. There is a nice homely feeling as you enter the building and residents seem very happy and well looked after.
The management team are always looking to improve the service

Domiciliary care - for past two years has been good, carers are efficient, management good and on time. Good value.
At New Year mum, the service user, was very ill. The care service and associated home worked together brilliantly to avoid hospital admission.
At the first opportunity, mum went into
the home. They looked after her in the best way possible. After a month, the difference is amazing. Mum will be staying at Sussex Grange as a permanent resident and is very happy with her care. Managers and owner are easily contactable, staff are kind and efficient and mum l.oves the quality of the food.

I have observed that the staff at Sussex Grange work together as a team to provide a kind and caring environment for the residents. The accommodation is beautifully clean, warm and cosy. The food is excellent and individual diets are enthusiastically catered for. On occasion when my parents were unwell
staff were quick to contact the local GP practice and also access community services. Care is provided ensuring maximum dignity for the residents. Extended family are welcomed and well supported by the caring staff during difficult times.

During her career, she has achieved a variety of awards including ‘Best Outcomes for Improving Health’, ‘Team of the Year’, ‘Manager of the Year’, ‘Inclusive Communication’ and ‘Exceptional Health Outcomes’; In addition to this, she was finalist for the 17th National ‘Care Manager of the Year 2015’ and also recognised in the Guardian and Industry news for her work to drive and implement quality.


Sophie’s passion comes from supporting, encouraging and developing others and, in particular, she enjoyed her role working as a care consultant.


Sophie started working with Sussex Grange in 2018, She was appointed the role of Operations Director in January 2019 and conducts both strategic and operational planning to ensure service delivery and compliance.

Tom Jameson

Sussex Grange is privately owned by Drs Tom and Rachel Jameson. Tom previously worked as a hospital doctor for ten years giving him broad experience in the healthcare sector. Rachel works part-time as a local GP and has regular but informal input into the home.


In addition to his role at Sussex Grange, Tom is also a Director of West Sussex Partners in Care (WSPiC) and works with fellow Directors to enhance the services offered by WSPiC with particular emphasis on the annual Care Awards Ceremony and the twice yearly symposiums.

Jackie Haynes

Jackie is our activities coordinator and plans and delivers our activity provisions within the Care Home.


She arranges activities with outside events coming in, such as singing, dancing, poetry, reading and quizzes.


In addition to this Jackie also delivers activities herself which are always special. Bingo is one of our most attended activities (as well as anything that involves cake)!


Jackie also takes around a mobile shop each week selling snacks and sundries.
