Person-centred care is planned and delivered by long serving, trained, professional staff. The priority is to ensure residents’ dignity and choice is respected at all times. Carers endeavour to meet all the needs of residents, offering a home for life, well supported by local GP practices.

Activities in house as well as outings in a mini-bus are planned to suit all interests and abilities. The garden is easily accessible and enjoyed by all, including an array of house pets.

My mother now regards Lavender Lodge as her home, she is settled and safe and well cared for. Under new management for the last year the home has become a bright, clean and happy place to spend time, the staff are all very caring and I have no worries. The management are also very good at keeping me
up to date on any worries with Mum.

The leaders, teams, and staff at Lavender Lodge have consistently shown great care and attention to the needs of my father, who is one of their residents. Examples include proactive check-in meetings around his care and keeping up with and communicating well about his medical appointments. My father
enjoys the banter with many of the staff, and the chefs have often gone the extra mile in cooking a surprise dish for him. Lavender Lodge also runs a great range of social events where all residents are encouraged and supported to take part and have some fun! In summary: fun, food, friendship!

We had to move Mum quickly due to the reprehensible actions of a previous home. The manager was extremely helpful and proactive from the very first visit. Mum had a large and sunny room which was warm and comfortable.
I live a considerable distance away but the manager was always available by phone
or email. When I visited I was always greeted by smiley staff and offered a drink.
The building does need some improvement but this is ongoing and is certainly not the most important thing.
Mum unfortunately had to go into hospital and her needs greatly increased but the manager visited and assured us that she would put everything into place so she could return for her last few weeks. The care and love we all received at the end was superb and so welcome. Mum was able to die peacefully, pain-free and with her own things around her.
We couldn’t thank the manager and her staff enough for making sure this happened.

My dad is cared for by top-class staff, he has been in there a year and in 4 months since a particular member of staff has been there, I can see a massive improvement in him. He is calm, relaxed and above all happy, they dont give up on their residents and they are the main priority, home is clean and

I just wanted to add another review of Lavender Lodge since my last one in October 2020.
My mum first became a resident at Lavender lodge in December 2016. In January of this year, my mum sadly passed away.
During a very difficult few weeks, the kindness and loving support of the Lavender Lodge
carers ensured my mum was always, comfortable, peaceful and dignified.
Some of the carers have looked after my mum since she arrived at the home and had become part of her "family". This was especially important during Covid19 lockdown when we were not able to visit her. I always had complete trust in Lavender Lodge and knew that my mum was loved and receiving the best care possible.

My dad (a dementia sufferer) was cared for in Lavender Lodge for almost 2 years. The extremely difficult decision to move him to a care home was made easier right from the first visit when the team made him feel at home and treated him as an independent, respected man. He was always well cared for and
built great relationships with the staff. Lots of laughter and music, homely, well-cooked food and the occasional G&T or beer. The team go out of their way to make this feel like a proper home. Dad's last days were full of compassion and love.

Our family finally managed to transfer Mum here from another care home two weeks ago.
She came in hardly able to fit a sentence together she had been in a lot of physical pain mainly due to anxiety. We couldn’t hold a conversation with her, she had swollen legs and she was so frail and lethargic.
We cannot believe the difference in her in two weeks and we are amazed!
I’ve just spent two hours in a conversation with a lady I thought I had lost forever. It felt like she was catching up on what she had missed this past year.
The manager has reviewed her medication which has made a massive difference and they also worked with us to make sure we were listened to so they could meet our mum's needs. They got her hair permed, something the last home charged us for but didn’t do. They completely cured the swollen legs. They dressed her nicely and they put makeup on her. They have given her back her pride and dignity.
Her care here is truly outstanding!

My beautiful mum has been a resident in Lavender Lodge for just over 5 years now. It was a tough decision for my sister and me, but her dementia decided that she needed full-time care. Well, we needn’t have worried because Lavender Lodge has been like a home from home for her. She has thrived in the
friendly environment and the loving care of the wonderful staff. They look after and care for her as if she was their own mum and talk to her and us with such kindness and understanding. They are quick to contact us if she has any changes in her health and are very calm and reassuring. My mum has also been enjoying lots of lovely homemade food and a plentiful supply of cups of tea! During the pandemic, Lavender Lodge acted quickly and assured safety measures were put in place straight away to protect their residents and we knew if there was any problem we would be contacted straight away. The manager has been amazing in arranging visits. Thank you to all staff from the bottom of my heart.

I moved my mum from Scotland in 2019 to Lavender Lodge. I was really concerned about how this would affect her but with all the support from the staff, she settled well. The staff are polite, friendly and show care to the residents in their care. They keep me regularly informed on all aspects of my
mother’s health and welfare, even throughout Covid and all the restrictions. Although my mother has dementia she is very happy - as long as she has her many cups of tea.

My dad was rushed into Lavender Lodge due to my mum becoming seriously ill and unable to look after him. From my first call the manager was amazing, understanding and sympathetic to our situation. All the staff are doing an incredible job looking after him, making sure his needs are met and that he's
happy. He has dementia and can be hard work at times, their patience and understanding is impressive. He seems happy, which is a relief considering his world has been turned upside recently. I'm constantly being kept up to date with any of Dad's needs, if he needs clothing ect, and also how he's dealing with things, if he needs medication, a visit from the hairdresser ect. I'm looking forward to finally be able to come in and visit when the restrictions allow us to do so. Overall, I feel very lucky that Dad was referred to such a professional caring home.

My mother has been a resident of Lavender Lodge since October 20 (during the pandemic). She doesn't accept care easily, so this was not an easy transition for her. This was upsetting for us, but the staff at Lavender Lodge recognised this and have been very reassuring. When we call, the staff are always
happy to discuss her progress. Mum is still settling in, but each week there is an improvement and she seems happy. We are looking forward to visiting mum in the home as soon as it is safe to do so.

I had to move Dad into care this year and wanted him close to me as he was based in Oxford. I found Lavender Lodge virtually on my doorstep. What a find! To say I couldn't have hoped for better is a precise statement of my feelings. From day 1, the staff and I mean all the staff, were amazing. The move
was massive for my Dad, not only from independent living to care but also away from the area he'd lived in for the last 30 years; that transition was made to look easy by the Lavender Lodge team.
Now Dad is settled and loves it. It is like a home to Dad rather than a care home. In the year Dad has been there Lavender Lodge has been updated, decorated and laid out to give better access to the garden in summer.
Ultimately though, the manager and her team are the stars. Is it perfect, no, nothing is, but I will never worry that Dad isn't safe and well looked after.
I am welcome day or night too.
Brilliant and highly recommended.

This was my second visit to the home after my aunties admission in early September 2019.


My first impression as I entered the home, was clean, tidy, friendly staff and well maintained. My aunt's room again was clean, light, airy and spacious with everything in it for her needs. My aunt has advanced

dementia, but she appeared happy, and when asked, she said that she was being looked after. The management and staff were friendly, helpful and appeared efficacious in dealing with the residents. Lavender Lodge has created a caring and safe environment for my aunt, which gives me the peace of mind that she is being looked after in a way in which I could not provide at home.

I visit my sister-in-law most weeks, not a specific time or day and have always found the staff very understanding. My sister-in-law is not always pleased to greet me, and her mood changes vary. She never complains and is generally well clothed, clean and warm as well as being well fed. The premises
are a credit to all concerned.
