Caring for 32 people, Aliwal Manor is a small, intimate care home with a big heart. They offer expert, personal care and support to people needing respite care and long-term residential care, residential dementia care and end of life care in a comfortable and attractive environment.

The team members, many of whom live in the local areas of Whittlesey, Turves and Peterborough, pride themselves on their warm and friendly approach and develop strong relationships with residents, and those closest to them, to ensure a holistic and person-centred approach to care.

They also run a day centre once a week for elderly people living in the community to visit and help develop new friendships.

Based on visits to the home and information given to us by the resident who has full capacity but is totally blind and therefore cannot take or does not want to take part in many of the activities. We have always found the staff caring and willing to assist.

The Aliwal Manor care home is like a home from home for the residents. The staff are so kind and compassionate to those in their care. They are prepared to go that extra mile. The home is run on a Gold Standard Rating. I have nothing but praise for the home and the staff who work tirelessly for the
residents. It is how a care home should be.

Lovely cosy home. Beautifully decorated throughout. Residents rooms as well as all communal areas very clean and tidy. Each unit has own lounge with small attached kitchen for visitors to use when spending time with their resident. Staff kind and attentive. One of the best homes I have visited while
choosing a place for our elderly relative.

From the first visit, I was very impressed by this lovely home and made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Everywhere clean and tidy and lovely gardens for the residents to enjoy. I would fully recommend.

Welcomed by staff on arrival. Sat among the group and chatted while drinking tea and eating biscuits. Very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Played a card game (pontoon?) and enjoyed that.
Played bingo, had dinner which was very nice. then relaxed doing jigsaws and chatting.
Overall very pleasant
few hours.

Sally

Sally Allen

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2023

Sally has worked in care for 15 years. She has worked in a variety of settings including Care Homes, Rehabilitation Units and providing End of Life care for people in their own homes.


Sally then progressed to Team Manager, working for a domiciliary care agency.


Sally joined Aliwal on May 23 as Deputy Manager and was promoted to Home Manager on November 23.


Sally has achieved her NVQ levels 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care and is currently working towards level 5.


Simona

Simona Nikova

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2021

Simona has been working in the care sector for 15 years, providing person-centered care to individuals in both residential and nursing settings.


Starting as a Healthcare Assistant, Simona worked her way through the sector getting experience in different roles, before recently being promoted to the Deputy Manager at Aliwal Manor. Her varied experience, caring nature, and developed skill set mean she is the perfect person for this role.
