Brook House is a 35 bedded care home providing person-centred care for adults aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia.

Situated close to Cambridge city centre, just off Mill Road, the home is in an ideal location for people living in Brook House and their families to explore the historic university city of Cambridge and is easily accessible via public transport.

Brook House is divided in to four units over two floors. All rooms are single occupancy. Two premier rooms have been fitted with en-suite facilities. Each unit has a dining area, lounge and a kitchenette as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home. The upper floor is accessed by stairs or a lift.

They took great care of my aunt. She was always clean, her room lovely and fresh and she was happy there.

I find the staff very welcoming and pleasant, nothing is too much trouble for them. My wife has dementia and she is very happy here. I would like to live here myself.

Mum moved here after a fall and difficult stays in hospital and then another home. We were worried that she might not settle especially as she has never been easy and finds mixing with others hard. I have been amazed at how well she has settled and begun to identify Brook House as ‘home’. The support
that the manager and her team gave us to prepare the room so it really resembles her previous flat has really paid off. The staff are really caring and make Mum feel safe and supported.


This is never going to be one of the ‘hotel’ like homes that have recently appeared in the market but the care and homeliness are second to none and I genuinely believe that is more important than anything.

My brother has been in Brook House for six months. I am pleased with the way he has been looked after. He has enjoyed the activities that they have had and has taken part in. He enjoys most of the food. I find the staff very polite, kind and helpful, also the management, and are always ready to listen
to any concerns we may have.

I have found the staff and management to be very friendly and helpful every time I have visited. They are very attentive to the residents whom they know well and take their responsibilities seriously.


The rooms are clean and the food is of good value. They have addressed any request that I have

The staff at Brook House continue to make Mum wanted and at home. She is in her second year now and feels content due to the care and TLC given to her by the management and all staff at Brook House, watching the hatching of the chicks was a great idea and created so much interest for residents, staff
and visitors. Thank you Brook House Staff.

Manuela

Manuela Barbosa

Job Title: Manager

Manuela has worked in the UK for the last 7 years and for the majority of this time, she has been at Brook House Care Home.


Manuela joined as a Care Assistant, but through hard work and the completion of extra-curricular courses, she began to progress. First as a Team Leader, and then progressing to the Deputy Manager before becoming the manager in January 2025.
