Located in a peaceful residential area, Glennfield is a purpose-built care home in the historic market town of Wisbech, near the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk.

A dedicated and experienced team provides respite and long-term care, including residential, dementia, nursing, nursing dementia, and end-of-life care. The compassionate team takes time to understand each individual’s life story, aspirations, and preferences, ensuring a truly person-centred approach to care, wellbeing, activities, and meals.

Glennfield offers a warm and engaging environment, fostering a strong sense of belonging. A Lifestyle Coordinator works with residents and their families to provide a variety of enriching opportunities, allowing individuals to participate as much as they wish.

The home is divided into six care suites, each featuring bright, stylish dining and living areas, creating a comfortable and social setting. Every suite includes a self-contained kitchenette, enabling the people who live at the home to prepare their own breakfast or snacks, while visitors are always welcome.

At the heart of the home is a vibrant coffee shop, a popular social hub hosting activities such as card games and knitting groups. It is also a welcoming space for residents to meet with family over coffee and homemade cake. Special bar events, organised in partnership with Elgoods Brewery, are always well attended and enjoyed.

Staff are always welcoming and friendly. They are always happy to speak with you if concerns arise. I feel mum is well looked after and happy here. Life for mum is kept normal and lots of things arranged socially both in the home and out in the community where she has lived all her life. Very happy
with care and support given to her.

My wife has Alzheimer's which was diagnosed at the end of 2020. She was admitted to the Forget Me Not Ward of Glennfield on 29/04/2024. From the start, this was not a good experience as she was left alone in her room for long periods of time and I discussed this with them, requesting for her to be moved
to the Poppy Ward. We had to wait for a room to become vacant and I am unable to remember the transfer date. I am now very happy with the Poppy Ward. The staff are all very nice and the level of care is excellent. She has now settled down very well.

We visit my dad every fortnight and each time we visit he is being cared for very well. It is obvious the staff on Bluebell know him well and as such are able to attend to his needs well. Communication from the home to me is frequent and I always feel my dad is safe and as well as can be expected considering
his advanced condition of dementia.

All the staff are very competent and friendly. Extremely helpful when required. Always a friendly greeting by the staff and you are not ignored. Glennfield Care Home is more like a friendly home than some care homes I've visited. The food is good with a choice and the medicines are well administered.

My mother has been a resident for 2.5 years and is very happy there. The staff are absolutely amazing and she really does love everyone of them. She says that they are all just like family. I can honestly say that I wouldn't have my mum living anywhere else.

Modern pleasant building, ample gardens for residents and visitors to use, weather permitting. Very clean and modern facilities, excellent friendly and professional staff in all respects. Food looks to be very good and residents really well looked after and respected.
Although everything I have seen
is excellent in every way the only concern I would have is the cost to self-funding residents.

The staff have continually given Mum great care. Staff go above and beyond to ensure she is happy, stimulated and cared for well. They are responsive and respectful to her needs and accommodating them. Family visits and home visits are supported well.

Our elderly father recently spent the last 7 days of his life on Snowdrop unit at Glennfield. My brother and I did not hesitate in choosing Glennfield to care for him, as they cared for our mother too. The care of all staff was excellent, kind and compassionate. We were kept well informed throughout
Dad's short stay, and the importance of his comfort and welfare was their first concern. The staff on this unit are an absolute credit to your home and we wish to send them our heartfelt thanks.

My elderly father with serious health issues has recently spent the last months of his life in this wonderful home.
The professionalism, super care and all the kindness shown to him have been second to none and we know there's nowhere he would have been happier, or better cared for. All staff from
stepping through the main door are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The support for patients and families is amazing, we saw from day one that my dad was in very safe hands and were, as a family, given support. The last days of my dad's long life were comfortable and brightened by all the people involved in his care and we thank them all.

My mum came to Glennfield Care Home in January 2023 and since that day it’s changed our lives, Mum's and us, her family. Mum previously spent six months in a care home which didn’t meet her needs. Since coming to Glennfields the change in Mum is clear to see, she’s happy and settled and her health has

Jan Davison

Job Title: Home Manager

Jan’s journey in the healthcare sector began straight after leaving school, driven by a deep passion for helping others. She started as a Dental Nurse, gaining experience in both NHS and private practices, before discovering her true calling in health and social care. Beginning as a carer, she quickly progressed into management, always striving to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.


Throughout her career, Jan has taken on a variety of roles, working in care homes, community care, extra care, and housing. She has also shared her knowledge by delivering training and supporting teams across the country as a regional manager.


Although she took a short break to explore the hospitality industry, her heart has always been in care—a field where her dedication and compassion continue to shine.

Sarah became the Care Manager at Glennfield Care Centre in 2008 and has many years’ experience of working in the care home environment.
