Nan has been resident at the Hillings for 12 weeks. During this time her condition has deteriorated dramatically. The care given as adapted to her condition. She has received kindness and dignity. Without exception, staff have been excellent. Thank you for all you do.

My Mother was a resident at the Hillings (Gardenia Suite) for over ten years. She moved into the newly built extension in 207 to a well-appointed room with ensuite and was able to make it 'her own' with items of furniture and pictures. Throughout her time she was treated with great care and respect.
In fact, I would go as far as saying she was made to feel 'special' and 'loved' by many of the care staff. Issues were few and minor and responded to promptly. On this basis, I can heartily recommend this care provider.

Mum had experienced two periods of respite care in two different care homes, but The Hillings is far better than both and I am very happy with our decision to choose it as her home once she needed permanent residency. What I particularly like is the welcoming atmosphere, the empathy shown to residents
by the staff and the standard of cleanliness.

Under unexpected circumstances, we were treated with friendliness, compassion, understanding and care.
All my husband's problems were dealt with in a professional way with reassurance.
The home overall had a warm friendly feeling and you were always greeted with a hello.
I would have been happy for
my husband to have stayed but his increasing needs from his illness resulted in a move.

My Dad went to Hillings for a respite stay following 3 months in hospital. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated and he passed away about 10 weeks into his stay.


We found the carers looking after him to be very compassionate and caring, nothing was too much trouble and they took a genuine interest

in his well-being. The senior carers were just the same as were the management team.


The home had a very good working relationship with both district nurses (who were excellent) and my Dad’s surgery which proved to be a real benefit. They also had a very good working knowledge of hospital procedures which was a real help when arranging ambulance collection etc.

My mum has been living in The Hillings residential home for the past two years and in all that time, has been treated with respect from the staff.


The atmosphere is happy as many activities and outing are organised. Staff are caring and always visible and available.


Would definitely recommend.

I find this care home a very suitable place for my mother (aged 95) who settled in very happily 4 months ago. The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. The food is good and it's all very clean and tidy at all times. Mothers clothes are always clean and fresh.

My mother was a resident of The Hillings after being discharged from the hospital, having been diagnosed as suffering from Dementia and most likely Alzheimers. During her stay having had a severe fall she was placed in a Dementia unit having lost a major amount of weight and was expected to die in a
few months.
Due to the care of the sympathetic staff and the long-standing carers my mother out on weight and became more animated in herself. A lot of the change was also down to the 2 staff who dedicated their time to entertain the residents. They should be commended for their dedication, particularly, with at times a lack of managerial support.

My father was cared for 2 and a half years at The Hillings. Despite his moderate dementia, he had developed an excellent rapport with his carers. He loved their kind attention to his welfare, keeping him clean and well fed. He was in his last months happy to be in his own room where staff were always
popping in to see him. The loving care he had as he was dying was second to none with staff sitting with him and talking to him, even though he was too drowsy. He could not have had a better passing with expert relief from any discomfort.

I can only praise all the staff at The Hillings for the wonderful care and attention they all gave to my brother during his stay at the home until he passed away in December 2016. He was at the home from September 2016 until his passing.


Every care was taken when he had hospital appointments and

a carer was with him at all times.
