Over the last 4/5 years, The Hillings Care Home have looked after my mother and my recently deceased father. The staff in all departments from the management to senior carers, carers, admin, domestic, laundry, activities, handy-man have shown compassion and couldn't be more helpful in what has been
a stressful time.
They have all done their utmost to ensure both parents were settled in and that they are safe. The meals are appetising, if you want a picture put up the handy-man will put it up straight away, activities are available with a weekly rota up with whats on for the week.

This is a local care home to myself. My mother has been in here for a year and a half. She is settled there. It is a kind caring helpful friendly place to be. Staff are friendly and helpful. Senior staff will sort out situations efficiently. The home is large with individual named areas with a lounge,
bedrooms and a kitchen. A great place to get support for a loved one with needs.

Have found the carers tend to the residents very well and try to comfort any of them when they become extra confused or stressed. The home meets staff numbers set by CQC but like everywhere, more carers would help everyone.

After visiting other care homes,The Hillings, situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac and built all on one level, was the first choice for Mum.


The manager’s door is always open, enabling family to speak about any concerns.


Administration is excellent. All emails are responded to quickly.


I

am notified of any medical problems and any medication that has been prescribed.


I have peace of mind knowing that The Hillings security and safety procedures do not allow anyone to enter the premises and vulnerable residents cannot leave the building.


Staff are friendly, approachable, have a natural caring nature, smiling faces and always willing to comply with family wishes and requests.


My Mum has advanced dementia, is well cared for, and receives regular hairdressing and chiropody.


Her room is a good size, with a large window. Her en suite is always clean.


She is happy in her environment and enjoys time spent talking and laughing with the carers.

The Hillings is a wonderful care home with staff who treat my uncle with great care and dignity. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he lives in what I feel is a loving family atmosphere. I am so pleased he is able to spend the rest of his life in such a lovely place.

Since visiting my sister last November I have been very impressed with staff members. Some go the extra mile. I have been quite ill myself and some visits take twice the time to come here. I travel and staff will always offer me a hot or cold drink on arrival. They bring me up to date on my sisters
progress and well being. I wish all homes could be as excellent as this one.

The overall care of my father has been excellent. The staff are kind, caring and professional in all aspects. His room is always spotlessly clean and the food provided is always very acceptable. He has a very good relationship with all the carers and they treat him with affection and dignity. My only
one concern is that at times I have felt that the staff are stretched and that additional staff might ease the load.
