Recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in February 2021, and located in the peaceful village of Bottisham, just six miles from Cambridge and Newmarket, MHA Queens Court is at the heart of the local community. The home provide residential and dementia care for up to 55 residents in modern en-suite accommodation.

There are a variety of shops, a popular takeaway, and a well-loved fish and chip shop nearby, convenience is never far away. Queens Court enjoys strong ties with the Bottisham Social Club, with residents regularly engaging in social activities. The home’s secure gardens feature four courtyards filled with plants and shaded by mature walnut and apple trees, providing a peaceful space for the ‘Pot Gang’ gardening group to enjoy.

Situated in a peaceful cul-de-sac and surrounded by bungalows, the newly refurbished home has been a central part of the community for over fifty years. The home is made up of smaller ‘flatlets’ designed for groups of eight or sixteen people. Each unit has its own kitchen, lounge, and dining area, with a mix of en-suite and separate bathrooms. Whether for residential, dementia, or short-stay care, every resident receives tailored support to ensure they live later life to the fullest.

My aunt has been in Queens Court for several years, the support she has had and the care she has received simply could not have been better. The staff demonstrate great patience and deal with some very challenging behaviour from her with respect for her dignity, firmness and compassion. They keep me
well informed at all times.

My mum has been a resident for five years. As a community nurse with 40 years of nursing and in the care of the elderly, I was in no doubt which home, I wanted my mother, to go to. From the minute we arrived to the last time I visited, two days ago, Queen's Court has been outstanding in every way.
Their
wonderful understanding and appreciation of my mum’s individual needs are met daily and are provided by a dedicated team of staff, who work incredibly hard to ensure a safe and loving home for Mum. As I always say to them, if I could clone you, then every home would have a Queen’s Court team and I would proudly work with any of the staff. Every time I leave my mum, I know she is happy, incredibly well looked after and that I will be made aware of any concerns or changes they have made in her care. For me, the home ticks every box and continues to deserve its QCQ Outstanding award!

My mum is very happy at Queens Court, the staff are really helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble, Mum enjoys some of the activities and really enjoyed her trip to the races a couple of weeks ago.

Queens Court's care for my uncle was excellent. It is clear that he was loved and his presence in the care home was valued. I could see that once he settled in he was happy here and despite his Alzheimer's/dementia, he played a positive role in the home simply by his presence and his easy-going nature.
Having lived for many years alone and having become progressively isolated whilst living on his own, he blossomed here amongst the community at Queens Court. I cannot thank the staff enough for the way he was looked after.

Mum has dementia and at times is very restless and challenging. All the staff are always very caring with Mum and find ways to help and look after her which she is happy with. They involve her with the other residents in music and singing activities which Mum loves. They chat with Mum and have got to
know her history so they can help her to remember where she has come from, her life story.

First class care home. Cleanliness is second to none. The staff are friendly and helpful in all aspects of the resident's needs.
I can honestly state that without the help and patience of the staff my elderly mother would not be with us today.
I can’t praise this care home enough.

Great facilities. Lovely friendly staff. Look after Mum exceptionally well as I live 300 miles away and cannot get there as often as I want. Mum is treated with great dignity and is very happy.

My mum now unfortunately needs more care in Queens Court which she has been in for over 2 years. The move to the Osbourne unit with extra carers has been so good for her, they have contacted and kept me updated with her health problems since April 2023.
I cannot thank all the three different units
Mum has been on enough for their care, which means we know she is being looked after and safe 24/7 since she went to the care home.

The staff do a wonderful job under very difficult circumstances. My late mother suffered from Alzheimer's and the care she was given was very good. The staff always answered any queries or concerns that we had.

My mum has been a resident at Queens Court since August 2020 and is very happy with the quality of care and commitment of the staff team. The permanent staff are really good at understanding and anticipating Mum's needs and preferences and go the extra mile to make sure she is happy and supported.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff team and management worked incredibly hard, in very difficult circumstances, to support, care for and protect the residents. Recruitment difficulties after Brexit and the COVID pandemic meant there were times when significant numbers of agency/ bank staff were necessary. Although care was always well provided some of the temporary staff were less familiar with Mum's preferences which could make her feel less 'at home'. Permanent staff levels have recently been increased. The facilities and rooms whilst good, are now a little 'tired', and a major refurbishment is scheduled for summer 2023.

We have worked hard in trying to ensure continuity when using agency staff so they get to know our residents, the same as regular staff do. We have now a number of new staff that have joined us, who are now settling in with the team and learning about Mum too. We are all looking forward to next January when Mum will be 100.

My favourite thing about living here, is that I could not be happier (some mornings I pinch myself, to make sure I am not dreaming!). I sit outside on a bench and tell those thinking of moving in, about the superb care and love they will receive. Nothing is too much for the staff. They all give 110%
plus, of themselves. Their care is second to none. The management can sell the room, but they cannot tell you of the care you will receive. They call me their ambassador! I speak from experience and from the heart.

It's a great caring team, quick to spot any problem with my father and inform me.
They know me well and they are always smiling and welcoming, and make time for any questions I may have if necessary.

I could not wish for a nicer, more caring home for my mum. The staff at Queen's Court look after her every need. Their kindness and care are second to none. It is such a relief that I can be confident she is in such excellent, attentive hands, safe and comfortable. I would (and do) recommend Queen's
Court to anyone. I don't think they would find a nice home in the area or even further afield.

My Dad has gone to live in Queen's Court due to dementia after being in a hospital which made him worse. He has a fabulous room overlooking the garden its always clean and tidy and Dad always looks smartly dressed and clean. He loves the staff and they really look after him. Nothing is too much trouble
and they keep my mum informed every step of the way ... which helps my mum know he is settled and helps her. It's a great team at Queens Court and every time we visit it always has a friendly atmosphere we can not thank them enough for the care and love they show Dad.

My uncle was a resident for many years after his wife passed away, with his nearest relatives in Australia and Covid-19 on the loose, which meant we were unable to visit him. However, the staff kept us fully informed and were very helpful in taking any phone calls we made to him. The introduction of
an app was a great idea and allowed us to share some photos and memories. He always seemed content and was participating in activities. The staff always seemed to have his well being at heart and cracked jokes with him. They received any queries we had openly and did their utmost to keep us fully informed.

Your uncle was very much loved and very much missed; he gave us all great pleasure, as he always had a joke or story to tell or a song to sing. He very much played on his Australian heritage, often appearing in a hat with corks hanging on it, singing Waltzing Matilda. A genuinely lovely man, that we were privileged to support.

My Mum went to live at Queen's Court in August 2020, as her mobility had deteriorated and she had suffered several falls at home. It was a hard decision as she was a very independent lady and added to that, the Covid restrictions made visiting her difficult. However, she was very well cared for. She
enjoyed the daily activities run by the lovely caring staff. She had a sunny room with a nice outlook. She always looked clean and neat thanks to the regular hairdos, manicures and pedicures. During Mum's final illness we were able to visit her daily and it was during this time that we were able to appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at Queens Court from all the amazing staff. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they are all heroes and we will always be grateful and thankful to them all.

It was lovely that, as her family, you were able to visit daily, spending quality time with her. Dad was welcomed into Queens Court in July 2019 straight from a hospital stay. Due to dementia, he was in the Osborne wing on the ground floor. His room had a lovely outlook onto a garden. He was always given full care and attention and I know he was very well looked after. In this last month when his
health deteriorated, I was kept informed every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they worked above and beyond to make him comfortable.

It was lovely that your dad was able to come home for his final days to be cared for by staff that knew him and loved him and that you as a family were able to spend time with him. My mother has been struggling with memory and mobility. For the last few months, it has become clear that she could no longer look after herself at home, so my sister and I decided that she should be at Queens Court.


I am so pleased that she is at Queens Court. It is the nicest, kindliest, and most

homely of all the homes we visited. The room and premises in the dementia ward are light and airy and include a lovely courtyard garden, where I saw her, through a video app, having her nails polished. I do not have to worry about her not eating or feeling lonely because she is obviously neither. The staff have got to know her, and she has settled in knowing all the pressures of running a house and life are lifted.


Thank you for looking after her, I can sleep at night knowing the dear old lady is in the best possible place.
