Rheola Care Centre is a 42 bedded care home providing person centred care for adults aged 65+, including those living with dementia.

The home is within walking distance of St Ives town centre which has a wide range of shops including a Post Office, Banks, Supermarkets and a Bakers along with pubs, restaurants and cafes and hosts a Market every Monday and Friday.

Rheola Care Centre is divided into 4 units over two floors. All rooms are single occupancy and 10 rooms have en-suite facilities.

People living at Rheola Care Centre can enjoy a variety of communal areas with the 2 units on the ground floor having a combined dining and lounge areas and the 2 units on the first floor having a combined dining and lounge area to cater for both units. All units have access to a small kitchenette area as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home.

The upper floor of the home is accessed by stairs or lift. All areas of the home are accessible for wheelchair users.

Rheola Care Centre provides:
•        A high standard of care and support 24 hours a day
•        A high standard of housekeeping including a laundry service
•        Traditional home cooked meals, using fresh ingredients prepared by dedicated chefs
•        A warm, welcoming environment with a ‘home from home’ atmosphere

I find the home very caring. The staff are very friendly but there is not enough staff to care for the residents on a day to day basis the staff do a good job with what they have. The accommodation is very dated and needs to be brought upto date if not gonna be knocked down. The food is very good.
Mum is generally happy with her care.

The first thing Mom always says when we visit is, "oh, they are lovely here to me, and the food is great".
That gives us peace of mind that she is well cared for.
Always happy when we visit and when we take her out and more than happy to return to Rheola.
No concerns.

Myself and my family are really happy with the care my mother is receiving in Rheola Care Home. We like the location and close proximity to St Ives. It has a homely vibe which suits her very well but mostly, we are so comfortable with the staff, they are all so kind, not only to Mum but also to us,
and have made the whole difficult process of going into residential care so much more bearable.

Rheola Care Home was home for my elderly dad from when he arrived, aged 91, in 2019 to when he passed in February 2023. Quite simply, the care and attention he received were superb from day one... warm, friendly staff and a constant feeling that he was being well cared for. The staff coped amazingly
well in the tough Covid pandemic times - such a pressure it must have been at times but it was all done professionally and safely and with an understanding that relatives wanted to be kept fully informed at all times of what was happening. Dad loved his time there and especially the breakfasts! Thanks to the manager and all the team. Fly high!

Lovely care home. My mother is always happy when I go to see her and well cared for. The staff couldn’t do enough for her and the home always feels warm, happy and welcoming.
I would recommend to anyone. I can walk away from here knowing that my mother is in safe hands.

I cannot fault the care my mum received at Rheola Care Home. As a family, we were apprehensive about her move into care but she was always treated with kindness and compassion which provided us great comfort at a difficult time. Staff were responsive and made every effort to get to know Mum as an individual
and whilst she could not engage in many activities, due to her own health, many residents were regularly enjoying varied activities which was lovely to see. We will be forever grateful.

I have always found the staff to be welcoming and caring in a very challenging job. My dad always seems happy and contented despite his condition. The carers have quickly responded to any changes in his health, enabling him to get the treatment he needed at the time. The home itself is clean and tidy.

We as a family cannot thank the team at Rheola in St Ives enough. They are super friendly, helpful and supportive. We could not have asked for a better place for father to be in. He now has a new lease of life being there. They keep a clean and tidy environment and hold events for the residents there
which are so lovely to see.

I feel my dad is well cared for, and they communicate well with me. He seems to be as happy as he can be away from the home environment. The only small issue is he would like a slightly bigger room; his room is very tiny and he cannot access the chest of drawers. Just a little bit bigger would make
him happy.

I am relieved and delighted that so many of the staff have formed an obvious bond with my uncle. He has always enjoyed a good sense of humour and it's lovely to see them enjoying a joke with him. He may have lost some of his memory but not his sense of fun. The manager is approachable and very professional
whilst maintaining a lovely, friendly air with residents and family members alike. Thank you to all the staff who care for our family member so well.

The work care is never more appropriately used than to describe Rheola. All the staff is led by a shining example in the manager, and without fail, every single member of staff has shown the utmost love and care of our Mum. It is heartwarming to see the attention they pay to all the people involved,
including visiting family members. It is a proper "home from home", and they properly care. It is a wonderful place, and we are so grateful for the wonderful job they do.

I was quite nervous to leave mum with her severe Dementia and lung problem with Covid still in care homes but the Manager and her staff were absolutely brilliant in booking PCR tests for my mum and myself. They really looked after mum who gave no backward glance when I left her - they had saved her
a cooked lunch which may have helped! And mum would not leave until she had finished her pudding on the day of pick up. The Manager went out of her way to deliver mum's prescriptions after mum had left respite as they were delivered late by the pharmacy. It was a positive experience and one I would have no trouble doing again, I am even trying for full-time care home for mum, but this is taking longer than I hoped as her social worker has just left and she has not been allocated a new one yet.

My Mother-in-law went into Rheola for a period of assessment. It was decided it was in her best interest to stay in 24 hour care and because the manager had made a horrible time as easy for us all as possible by sending unprompted messages and photos we decide to choose Rheola, although it isn’t one
of the brand-new sparkly care homes. We have found them kind caring welcoming etc in all their interactions with us and my mother-in-law.

Susan has worked at Rheola Care Centre since 2007 and has completed her NVQ level 2, 3 and 5 in Health and Social Care.
