Rheola Care Centre is a 42 bedded care home providing person centred care for adults aged 65+, including those living with dementia.

The home is within walking distance of St Ives town centre which has a wide range of shops including a Post Office, Banks, Supermarkets and a Bakers along with pubs, restaurants and cafes and hosts a Market every Monday and Friday.

Rheola Care Centre is divided into 4 units over two floors. All rooms are single occupancy and 10 rooms have en-suite facilities.

People living at Rheola Care Centre can enjoy a variety of communal areas with the 2 units on the ground floor having a combined dining and lounge areas and the 2 units on the first floor having a combined dining and lounge area to cater for both units. All units have access to a small kitchenette area as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home.

The upper floor of the home is accessed by stairs or lift. All areas of the home are accessible for wheelchair users.

Rheola Care Centre provides:

•        Traditional home cooked meals, using fresh ingredients prepared by dedicated chefs

My mother loves it here. All the staff are so friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble for them. There is always some activity going on my mum can get involved in.
It really is like home from home.

During my mother's stay at Rheola, she has always been treated with respect and kindness.
The home is well run under the direction of the manager and deputy, who along with the rest of the staff often go the extra mile. I am happy that my mother is a member of this caring community.

My grandma has lived at Rheola for over 3 years now, we could not ask for a more friendly and homely environment. The staff are just so amazing and make us feel so welcome on visits. The last 18 months has been difficult for everyone but Rheola and its team have made a big difference we can not fault
them, and when this is all over I will treat all the staff personally with a nice bottle of plonk.

My mother has lived in Rheola for the last 4 years and in that time I have nothing but praise and admiration for the manager and her wonderful staff. I chose Rheola because of its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, somewhere my mother could literally feel at home, and it has never disappointed me, especially
in these difficult months of Corona Virus and all the restrictions involved. Despite all the difficulties the staff and residents have had to endure they have remained positive and caring in their attitude to my mother and to me. To be able to trust the team looking after one's relative, when you are unable to do so yourself, is crucial. This I certainly do with the staff at Rheola who are not only my mother's carers but also her best friends. I cannot thank them enough for all the time they put in.

Covid has been so very hard for everyone not being able to see their loved ones, but it’s important we keep everyone safe. I can’t thank the manager enough for her support with update FaceTime calls - always reassuring me my grandad is okay. She is a lovely bubbly person, a very welcoming lady. It’s
very hard as I live in Essex and can’t just pop in, but the home has accommodated me on short notice so I get a visit.
The protection that’s gone in to keep everyone safe is truly amazing, this is such a great team.

We had to get care arranged for Dad very speedily toward the end of 2019. We visited 2 or 3 local homes and we knew from the off that this was the home for Dad. Right from the beginning, I have been so impressed with the staff at Rheola. The staff all seem very happy, very friendly and very respectful
to Dad, and it is a huge relief to the whole family to know that he is in safe hands. The manager seems to be ever-present…she certainly puts in the hours! On the odd occasion when she hasn’t been at work if I’ve needed to speak to her, she always responds to texts or phone messages within minutes! Dad loves the food…particularly the breakfasts! Nothing seems to be too much trouble.
I cannot praise this care home highly enough. Covid restrictions have made it harder for everyone, staff and residents, and it’s a shame we still can’t just pop in to see Dad in his room whenever we feel like it, but they have kept everyone safe and healthy which is the main thing!

My father has been a resident at Rheola since November 2019 and we certainly didn't see the current Covid situation occurring. The manager and her team have gone above and beyond to ensure that we had safe access to visit Dad which has meant the best has been done in the worst of situations. This has
ensured the safety of all involved and the home have been amazing. Dad feels safe, comfortable, well-fed and happy with all the care he receives. The peace of mind from the continuity of staff and care from Rheola is hugely appreciated by all my family.
Thank you, to the manager and team and we wish you well as life begins to get a little easier for all.

Rheola care home under the management of the current manager provides excellent service for the care needs of my father with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s. They care for him in a practical, warm and fun way with music, ice lollies and other treats beyond the basic needs. They accommodate my need
to WhatsApp or FaceTime him from Paris where I live and today gave me the opportunity to spend time with him over lunch. Their strict adherence to daily Covid testing and their rigorous visitor policy at the height of the pandemic may well have saved the lives of the residents. A care home should feel warm and caring Rheola achieves this. Bless you. Thank you!

My dad moved to Rheola after my mum passed away. The staff are exceptionally caring and kind. He is very happy there and always tells me how lovely everyone (and the food!) is. I live overseas and they will often organise video calls with him and are always friendly. The centre celebrates birthdays
and special event days regularly. During the Covid crisis, it has been a real peace of mind knowing that my dad is being cared for with kindness and compassion and that the well-being and safety of residents is paramount.

Our family is incredibly grateful that mum was placed at Rheola. She has been a resident for a number of years and they have always given her outstanding care and attention. All of the staff are friendly and approachable and have done a fantastic job of keeping the residents safe and well during such
challenging Covid times. We as a family, really could not have asked for more for our mum. They understand Mum and have supported her fully throughout her declining mental and physical health. Thank you to all the Rheola staff.

I am able to speak to my aunt every Sunday and have now visited her twice this year. As I live nearly two hours away it is difficult to make the journey for such a short visit. However, I am happy in the knowledge that she is very well looked after by the care home staff and I also know that if I have
any concerns I am able to speak to either the manager or a member of the staff who knows my aunt well. Until she entered the home some 15 months ago I had not heard of Rheola but I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone contemplating sending a loved one there. They could not do better.

My mum moved into Rheola about 17 months ago, from day 1 her care has been excellent, the staff are wonderful. We have had great communication, keeping us in contact with mum through the pandemic. The manager particularly has been a huge help to me when I was worried about mum, she was always caring
and supportive, I don't know what I would have done without her when it was such a stressful time. Mum continues to thrive in Rheola's care, I feel this is a direct result of the care and kindness she receives from the staff.

I have been very happy with the care my mum has received. The manager has been exemplary in every way, along with the rest of the team. We can always just check to find out how mum is, and it's been a real comfort through these very difficult times. I feel we were very lucky getting Mum into Rheola

I cannot fault anything from this wonderful care home. From the day my grandmother went into this home to this current time it is just such a loving home with a wonderful homely atmosphere.
The staff always go above and beyond to care for my grandmother and I know she is extremely safe in their care.
She has gained weight and can recognise some members of staff because she sees them on a regular basis.
Through Covid times I will not have a bad word said about the home, the manager has done everything in her power to keep my grandmother, other residents and her staff safe.
I will forever be truly grateful to the staff and manager for looking after my grandmother in such a loving, dedicated and caring way.

Like most people, the thought of putting my mother into care filled me with dread.
How would she cope? Would she be safe? Would she be treated with care and respect?

Every day my family and I give thanks that we found the manager and the team at Rheola. It was a very difficult decision to move my father into a care home and we spoke to/visited a few and had no problem choosing Rheola and our experience has further cemented what an excellent decision we made. The
manager is the most wonderfully warm, friendly, caring person and this attitude is reflected throughout the care staff. I am 100% convinced that my father is getting excellent care and is as happy as he can be given his condition. I highly recommend Rheola and thank you for your care.
