Rheola Care Centre is a 42 bedded care home providing person centred care for adults aged 65+, including those living with dementia.

The home is within walking distance of St Ives town centre which has a wide range of shops including a Post Office, Banks, Supermarkets and a Bakers along with pubs, restaurants and cafes and hosts a Market every Monday and Friday.

Rheola Care Centre is divided into 4 units over two floors. All rooms are single occupancy and 10 rooms have en-suite facilities.

People living at Rheola Care Centre can enjoy a variety of communal areas with the 2 units on the ground floor having a combined dining and lounge areas and the 2 units on the first floor having a combined dining and lounge area to cater for both units. All units have access to a small kitchenette area as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home.

The upper floor of the home is accessed by stairs or lift. All areas of the home are accessible for wheelchair users.

Rheola Care Centre provides:

I highly recommend Rheola to everyone. The staff are very professional and go above what they are paid to provide, diligent, caring and always available for a chat with the residents. Nan loved her stay and continues to talk about how much she enjoyed her time in the care of Rheola. The manager must
take credit for leading from the front with her commitment to the residents, good leadership rubs off on the staff and its certainly shows at this care home. No issues at all, we will be using Rheola whenever required. Thank you to all for making Nan feel like part of the Rheola family.

We had to move my mother from another care home last year as the care home she was in was closing. My wife and I met with the management of Rheola and we were shown around. Our first impressions were that the building was a bit tired but the staff were lovely and treated the patients with love and a
great deal of respect. On our 1st visit to see Mum after she was accepted in Rheola, we were amazed to see my mum out of bed and drinking a cup of tea. This was the 1st time Mum had been out of her bed for 6 months. After telling the management how pleased we were, we were told that it was the way the staff were trained to encourage the patients to get out of bed, get dressed and enjoy the company of everyone at the home. My mother has dementure and since moving to Rheola she is the happiest she has been for some time.
My wife and I cannot give enough praise to the all the caring staff at Rheola.

Carers are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is always happy and this makes my Grandmother happy. Please don't change! I'm happy my Grandmother is here, I wouldn't wish her to be anywhere else.

The staff are committed to the care of residents and make them feel relaxed. They have a high level of skill in resolving disputes betwe3n residents and reassuring my Mother when she becomes worried and upset. Visitors are made very welcome and open to use facilities as well. More could be done to provide
activities for the variety of capabilities of the residents however, especially regarding maintaining as much independence as possible.

My mum needed to go into residential care because of her health, my great-grandmother had also been a resident at Rheola many years ago. We, therefore, knew the quality of care at the home, so were delighted when a room was available for my mum to be able to go into this facility.
My mum is very happy
there and enjoys the trips and entertainment that comes to the home. Staff are wonderful, always a cheerful word and very dedicated to the residents, anyone looking for a facility for a loved one is fortunate indeed if a room is available here.

My nan is a resident and at the ripe old age of 94, the staff manage to persuade her to get up, get dressed and engage in conversation and activity on a regular basis. This is something that wasn't happening before she went to Rheola. When she lived alone she would stay in bed for days, which resulted
in bed sores and falls (when she finally did try to use her leg muscles). It's hard to imagine that someone of that age is possible of making improvements but my nan absolutely has improved since in care. I feel confident in the care she's getting and I know the carers find humour in her conversation which has also given her her sense of humour back. The team at Rheola are extremely caring and they don't patronise at all. Nan is fed well, cared for well, washed and clean, happy and involved. The vibe at Rheola is happy and uplifting and it definitely rubs off on the residents. Lovely place to be as a resident and equally lovely as a family member visiting a relative. feels like home!

I've observed that all the staff treat all the residents with kindness, care, dignity and treat them as their own family even in the odd challenging situation. Clearly the staff are happy in their work and happy at Rheola, they consider it to be a vocation as opposed to a job and this attitude certainly
shows. They all interact very well with each other. Nothing is too much trouble and all requests from residents and questions from families are dealt with swiftly and courteously. On the odd occasion an answer is not known, it is sought and relayed back quickly and efficently There is a thread of a 'well oiled machine' running through Rheola from the Manager down. The accomodation is perfectly adequate, comfortable and clean, as is the the communal lounge with varying comfortable seating for differing needs. The food is of a good quality, wholesome and plentyful and there appears to be an endless supply of hot drinks and biscuits.
A good home for my Mother.
All in all a very happy ship.

My uncle has been in Rheola for more than 2 years and has been treated with great kindness and respect. He is happy and content and has an excellent rapport with the staff. Rheola is not super smart, but it is a home from home, staffed by lovely caring people. I would have no hesitation in recommending
it to others.

For 2 and a half years I have visited my husband here. He is well-settled now. He loves watching people and spends his days in the large, friendly lounge where he eats, dozes and watches what is happening. The staff are friendly and caring. They genuinely seem to like their work and the people they
care for. If I myself had to go into a care home, I would rather live here than any of the other places I have visited.
