Field House prides itself on being a 'home from home' for its elderly and dementia residents. It is situated on approximately 3/4 acres of land in the scenic countryside village of Eye, just four miles from the cathedral city of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.

The home is popular and friendly with a family atmosphere and good integration within the community. The home was set up and run by a local family for over 30 years. In July 2019 the home was sold to new owners who are making significant improvements to the home and the quality of care it delivers to the residents.

Field House offers accommodation for up to 49 people with various health conditions, physical and sensory needs, including dementia. All rooms are light and spacious with a restful décor, overlooking the countryside and gardens, most have en-suite facilities.

Field House has been extensively renovated over the years to cater fully for the residents. At the rear of the grounds, there is a beautiful, mature garden with attractive lawns, there is also an enclosed all year courtyard with benches and a feature fountain.

Family and friends play an important role in the care and life at Field House, giving it a home from home feel. It has an open-door policy allowing residents, family and friends to visit whenever they choose.

The home offers respite, day care and regular activities. There is a dedicated and caring team including the management and auxiliary staff, all of whom offer a high standard of care designed to support residents with both physical and mental health needs.

It is an independent private care home placing family values at the heart of Field House, they hope to provide a caring, safe environment to all, forming strong relationships and family values between residents, staff and families whilst maintaining the resident's individual personalities.

Since mum become a resident of Field House she has been exceptionally well-cared for both physically and emotionally. The team at the home are absolutely fantastic and go the extra mile with every resident to make every day a happy and enjoyable day panning lots of lovely and varied activities. I was
worried whether mum would go downhill moving from assisted living into a residential home but how wrong I was. It's as if the clock has been turned back by 10 years with her because of the supporting environment at Field House.

My Mum has had an amazing experience on the whole having been a resident of Field House for almost a year. She took a while to settle in but the staff did everything they could to make her feel at home. They use a wealth of strategies to help the residents live their best life possible.


I am very

impressed by the quality of care, the range of activities provided and the communication from staff to residents’ families. Living abroad myself, it is reassuring to get regular progress reports on how my mum is doing and I love to see the posts on Facebook and see the joy on her face at having her nails painted or taking part in some fun activity. The staff have done their best to accommodate the restrictions the pandemic has brought about. Mum always tells me that the food is great and that I should move in with her there as I would enjoy it!

My dad is a resident at Fieldhouse and Fieldhouse has saved my dad in some dark times. Since my dad came to the home he has changed in so many ways, he is so happy here and so thankful for all the support given to him by the staff and management. Any concerns he can talk to the staff and that will be
brought to the management.

My mother was discharged from PCH to Field House Care Home in July 2020 during the COVID pandemic when, due to her dementia, she was no longer able to live independently despite support from myself and carers visiting 4 times daily. What a blessing that she arrived at Field House. The staff are wonderful
and passionate about their jobs - demonstrated by staff going in on their days off to decorate the home in preparation for a birthday or other event. The atmosphere at Field House is always friendly and welcoming, and everyone has a smile when they go about their tasks. Nothing was too much trouble.
It was really hard for me as I had been looking after mum, but the staff kept me updated and involved with her care plans, changes to medication and just generally about her wellbeing, as initially, no visits were possible. My mum passed away in December 2021 and thank you to everyone at Field House for giving me 18 months more with my lovely mum.

Field House were exceptionally good to me when my Mom passed, both in preparing me during the palliative care period and in her passing and thereafter. Kind, considerate and caring throughout. The care home even attended my Mom’s funeral and made visits to the chapel of rest. Awesome team and thank
you for everything you’ve done for me personally. I would wholly recommend Field House Care Home to both friends and family members.

My family is extremely happy with the service that our mother receives. She was very poorly when she moved into Field House and has blossomed ever since. Management, carers and all other staff have been exemplary when looking after her. We visit mum regularly, taking into account Covid restrictions,
and are delighted with how the staff interact with her and ourselves. I hope that I too get to reach 90 and if so, I would be very happy living at Field House.

My mother has dementia and she lived in a bungalow with my stepfather and insisted on being her carer. My daughter did the housework and then stepfather died. We had carers coming which didn't last long as my mother had a fall and was left on the floor for a few hours. We looked at several homes but
she didn't like them. Then we found Field House which was so good as she doesn't like being alone. The staff are good and the management are good.

Field House came to our rescue at a very difficult time - my dad needing admission to a care setting due to a complete change in circumstances.
I rang up on the first morning following his admission and the carer gave me a very perceptive report on him leaving us reassured regarding our choice.
He
has now been a resident for 3 months and has nothing but praise for all aspects of his care confirming our first impression. Nothing appears to be too much trouble for the staff and he is settled and feels safe in his new surroundings.

Excellent care, including dental, optical rectification, consideration of care and consideration of residents' wider needs, monitoring during the day in the room. Provision of food, drink when enjoying quiet time in the room. Response by management to matters raised is excellent, not always helped by
occupants' response to responses. Activities stimulating in a difficult situation. With much adverse criticism in the press, Field House is a shining example of how it can be done in an admittedly difficult situation. My sister is very fortunate as she will not look after herself properly, although articulate her memory is fading (short term).

We found the care and attention provided by all staff towards both my mother and father second to none.

I wanted to take the opportunity of saying thank you so much for looking after my Mum in the last two and a half weeks of her life.


We did originally plan for it to be a two-week respite stay whilst we went on holiday. I was so impressed with the activities that Mum was involved in when she first

arrived. The day I brought her in I left her playing bingo in the lounge and the next day I found her joining in a ball game in your lovely sunny garden.


However, it quickly became apparent that she was at end of life and was just hanging on for us to get back from holiday.


I could not have asked for better care; all of the staff were caring and went over and above the requirements of their jobs to make sure Mum was comfortable and not in pain. You and your staff were also very kind to myself and my sisters whilst we were visiting.


I will be recommending Field House to anyone who is looking for a caring environment. I could not fault your care.

Shamim Bashir

Job Title: Registered Manager

Hi my name is Shamim, I am the Registered Manager at Field House, I started my career in care back in 2008 as a care assistant in Leeds. Here I had my first taste of the care sector and I really enjoyed learning and caring for people. I then moved to Peterborough in 2012, where I worked my way up to a senior carer. I started my senior role at Field House in July 2020, where I worked with the team to improve practices. I was promoted to the team leader role shortly after and used a person-centred approach to care. Not long after I became the deputy manager and continued to work with the wider healthcare community to ensure that our residents were receiving quality care, with my focus on end-of-life care. In 2022 I became the Registered Manager, guiding and mentoring the team is a high priority.


I live with my better half and we have 3 boys, in my spare time I enjoy home renovating, going for long walks with the boys and I am now a good Uno player! I also enjoy fashion and spirituality.

Hi my name is Sunita, I have been working at Field House since 2022. I previously worked as a nurse in Qatar and India. I started my career at Field House as a senior carer and found the home to be very welcoming and supportive. I was passionate about the care and worked closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure our residents received quality care.


I was promoted to a Senior Lead in early 2024, my role involves supporting our residents and carers, liasing with other professionals and familes to ensure there is a holistic approach to the care we provide. My goal is to maintain high levels of care.


In my spare time, I enjoy sightseeing and taking care of my two children, I enjoy trips to London on weekend. My husband is a singer and I accompany him around the country on his gigs.
