My mother has been a resident within this care home for around 9 years now.
She is now in the latter stages of Dementia.
Even though our mum doesn't know who we are anymore, I know for sure, 100%, that she is in good hands with the staff at Bungay House, and Mum seems to recognise them anyway, which
is a relief for us, as we feel relieved that she seems happy and content when she sees them too!
We wouldn't want our Mum anywhere else, and the other residents in the home are all really lovely in their own way too.
The home is very warm and welcoming, and they also update on their social media page regularly with the activities etc, so we can see what Mum has been up to.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Bungay House.

Bungay House is like no other care home. The staff go over and above the call of duty in every way. The building is not only beautiful but very homely. The food is delicious. The management are fantastic along with an informal open door policy. Ten plus out of ten!

My husband has settled in lovely.
Has his own room with tv, chair and fridge. With wash facilities too.
My husband is in his mid-40s. This is the third residential home we have tried. So far they have accommodated his every need as well as ours when we visit.
Just outside his room is a lounge with
tv table and chairs and a sofa. We use this regularly for when I bring the young grandchildren to see Grandad.
The garden is lovely and secure.
Staff are friendly and lovely. Always asking if we need anything on arrival.
The food looks and smells lovely.
My husband has started to socialise with other residents and also go out to cinema and restaurants which is a huge achievement for him.
I am pleased he is settling in well. He’s been there a couple of months now.

I cannot thank management and staff enough for all the help and support that they have and still provide for Mum and also myself. Everyone always goes above and beyond. Excellent home, excellent staff and care. The home is always clean and smells lovely. Staff are also always so happy and bubbly. Would

My son seems very happy with his stay here at Bungay House. I don't need to worry about his care. He has good meals and joins in with outings and entertainment. My son has lived in three other accommodations and this is the best.

This is a lovely care home, my uncle is very well looked after here. I feel very happy with the way he’s treated and looked after, the staff are very friendly and supportive towards my uncle and also when I go there to see him and have lunch. The food is very good and very nutritious. They have choices
too.
They are good at communicating with me if there are any issues related to my uncle.
The staff here are so kind and caring. They do such a wonderful job, well done all.

When visiting my friend in the care home, staff have been polite and helpful. Resident seems to have been well looked after. There seems to have been plenty of activities. Generally good care by staff.

I have a good friend who's been living at Bungay House for a year now and he's the happiest and healthiest I've ever seen him.
The staff are lovely, as is the beautiful house and location.
The atmosphere is welcoming, happy and homely and my friend loves living there.
Various activities and trips
are plenty and the food is good home cooking which I've sampled myself when invited for dinner.
Friends and family are welcome, at any time and having worked in social care for many years, I'm impressed by Bungay House.
It's a proper home.

Run as fast as you can from this home. Mum was allowed to come here after a visit by myself. Looks lovely little place. They could accommodate mum's needs and promised nutritious meals etc. (two Sundays on the trot it was takeaways for lunch, I think it suited the staff members on duty). Apparently,
mum was a handful and was always walking around which was hard for them to watch her. She had 2 falls with them and both times she was alone, luckily another resident raised the alarm. Unfortunately for us, mum had deteriorated due to a fractured pubic bone and was bed bound. I received a call to tell me they had called an ambulance as her fluids were low and she was taken to the hospital, the doctors were a bit puzzled as to why when they checked her vitals etc, so they tried to rearrange transport back to the home, who then refused to have her back! As you can imagine our horror and hurt at the treatment of my mum. She then had a 5-day stay while we managed to find somewhere for her. Avoid.

In the 7 weeks your mum was with us, she had a total of 3 takeaways. Your mum enjoyed them, just like the other residents do. Takeaways are a treat and most people, whether in a care home or not, enjoy a takeaway. During the other 50-odd days she was with us, she did enjoy a varied, balanced and healthy diet. We still have all the records of what she ate, for anyone wanting to see. I can’t see what is wrong with that, it is normal to enjoy an occasional takeaway. You even complained to CQC about this and we provided them with all our records and they are happy with the mealtimes at Bungay House. She was very underweight when she arrived at Bungay House, just 42.2kg, and she did actually put on a little bit of weight while she was with us. Your mum did fall twice when she was with us, and we felt that we were unable to meet her needs. So it's not a case of refusing to take her back, it's what is in her best interest, is there another care home that would suit her better?
