Sadly my partner died on 6th May, he had Dementia. The love, care and attention he was given were second to none. At all times he was treated with utmost respect and courtesy. I was privileged to be with him, and cannot praise the staff enough.

I have nothing to say but good things about the home. Carers are always there for my mother and management helped so much with the transition from another home. My mum has a better appetite and her general wellbeing has improved. There is a very positive culture promoted within the home which makes
me feel more confident and comfortable whilst visiting my mum as its difficult as it is for me. I would recommend this home to anyone!

I visit my friend on a weekly basis, the staff are very friendly and they are always willing to help if needed. The atmosphere is always lovely. My friend is happy and always well presented, meals are tasty and there is always plenty going on. I am always offered a cup of tea when I visit as well as
a meal. The home smells fresh and is very clean. The managements door is always open. I would recommend Alexander Court to any loved ones.

My mother was admitted here last year and since we all thought we will lose her as she suffers from terminal cancer. She has picked up so much energy and is still here, happy and well looked after. Thank you all for being so wonderful, she hasn't got much left, however, I know she is happy as much as
she can be!

My mother has been a resident here for nearly 8 years and I would not recommend a better place. Staff are extremely caring, there is always a very friendly atmosphere. There is always a good choice on the menus and a full programme of activities tailor-made to the needs of all the residents.
The management
team is always available to speak to and make me feel involved in my mother's care.
My mother lives with advanced dementia and could be very challenging at times, however, the care staff are highly experienced in dealing with difficult behaviours.
I would strongly recommend Alexander Court to anyone, excellent service!

This home is really welcoming, I can't see anything negative about it. I enjoy the facilities, food and drink, the care/support and being treated with dignity. My husband lives here as well which makes me feel more peaceful that he is safe too. I cannot describe the appreciation to the management and
all staff who welcomed me and lifted my spirits at the very difficult time of arrival. It makes me feel I am part of a family in one big loving home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.524)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.524) out of 10 for Alexander Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.667 for Alexander Court is calculated as follows: ( (72 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.667

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.857 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Alexander Court is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.957

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Home Manager

We strive to provide care of the highest quality for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, in lovely comfortable surroundings. Our team of experienced professionals constantly undergo training to provide outstanding care and support to all residents.

Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the fullest. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.

Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.
Residents have the freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, arts and crafts, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.

I’d love to show you around the home. So if you should like a tour, or wish to discuss any aspect of elderly care with me, please telephone the home to make an appointment.
