Beauchamp House is a residential care home in Chedgrave, South Norfolk that aims to provide residents with a friendly living environment, with the added benefit of having a professional team of staff on hand to help and advise on their individual needs.

All residents are allocated a key-worker who is responsible for agreeing a personal care plan. This plan is regularly reviewed with residents and their family. Residents are encouraged to make as many choices as possible about their interests and activities and staff always try to provide or facilitate activities that promote a high quality of life.

A dedicated area of the home has recently opened which provides specialist care for people living with dementia. It contains bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, a communal living room, assisted bathroom and separate toilets.

My 93-year-old mum needed to move into residential care in June 2020. Social services offered me a choice of three placements. The reviews for Beauchamp house were very positive. I am so pleased to have made this choice. Mum settled in well and was forever telling me on the phone how wonderful and caring
the staff were and how hard they worked. Despite being a naturally timid and quite shy person she made some friends and had a good relationship with the staff which was obvious every time I was able to visit. She would engage with the member of staff who brought her out to see me chatting to them and asking about them and how they were doing. Despite the challenges of Covid and the extra work this demanded all my phone calls were dealt with both professionally and in a caring and thoughtful manner. As a result, I felt very confident that Mum was not only in a safe environment but that her needs were always attended to with thought and kindness. I could not have wished for more.

My aunt has been a resident in Beauchamp House for over 3 years and the care she receives is first class. She is very happy in the home and is always treated with dignity and respect. The past 10 months have been extremely difficult for both residents and staff but next of kin have been able to visit
when possible, safe to do so in a relaxed but very safe and controlled way. Allowing visits to take place puts added pressure and duties on to the staff but allowing visits to take place is very much appreciated.
My aunt was able to enjoy Christmas as much as possible, with assistance from staff in opening her presents and helping her with tasks that normally would have been supported by family in her room.
All staff are polite and helpful and my family consider ourselves very fortunate to have them to care for our relative.

Our Mum stayed at Beauchamp for respite care. We received a warm welcome from the staff and had a carer telling us how Mum had settled in. She had a lovely clean, well-furnished room. There are lots of cosy areas for the residents to sit. We visited at mealtimes where the residents were provided with
good food and drink. Each resident received attention during their meal. The carers that we met were warm and attentive to the residents which was very comforting for us. We are very happy with everything involved in Mum’s care whilst she was there. Thank you.

I found my two-week respite very relaxing. The staff were very caring and pleasant and attended my needs at all times. I enjoyed all the activities and the food was good. I had a very nice room which was very clean.

My mother-in-law has settled so well into Beauchamp House, believe me, I never thought this was possible! I feel happy leaving her in their care and I didn’t think that was possible either! The staff do a fantastic job in difficult situations I know for one I couldn’t do their job and they do it with
care and compassion (Thank you). The doctor said she needed more care than we could now give her, she needed 24hr care, it was hard to accept her moving out of our home into a care home as media scares you! But this decision couldn’t be any better she is flourishing, happy and in a safe environment, free from falls. Also mixing laughing and reminiscing with her own age group is great to see. I wanted to write this as we are quick to put pen to paper when things go wrong but never when things are done well so Thank you Beauchamp House staff and well done!!

My mother was cared for at Beauchamp House for the 18 months prior to her recent passing. She was always very well looked after, and we had never had any issues with her care. They always kept us up to date with any problems, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and incredibly good with
my mother, who could be difficult at times. We have nothing but praise for the staff, and would always recommend the home to others.

My brother was a resident for approximately 18 months before sadly passing away.
The staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and always kept me informed of any problems.
My brother knew his own mind and his wishes were always adhered to by the staff.
He felt safe and settled here and was well looked
after, refusing to go into hospital even when the end was near, as he felt more comfortable in his 'home'.

Whilst it is impossible to get along with everyone I have been very impressed with the general standard of care provided to my Uncle. The Management was keen to get feedback from me if there were any issues I was concerned about. I never had cause to do so! Many of the team displayed a genuine care
for my uncle; popping in every half hour to check on his personal needs for cleanliness, drinks and food. I am a very fussy customer, I know I am, and I was happy and should like to thank the manager and her team for the care they provided. If I should ever need a care home then Beauchamp House would be high on my list.

My brother was recently accepted by this lovely home, being no longer able to cope living alone in a flat.
I have met with the manager and several of the staff and in every instance found them to be more caring, compassionate and understanding of the residents' needs than in most other such establishments
that people in my circle of acquaintances have had cause to use.
The place looks smart, smells fresh and inviting and has an air of welcome and friendliness.

I found everyone in the home helpful, friendly and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble, my room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Food was excellent and plenty of choice. I have worked in care for 20 years, rising from the role of care assistant to my current role as manager of Beauchamp House. I have a passion for person centred dementia care, and enjoy talking to our residents, who all have great stories to tell. I enjoy meeting with people to help them when they move into our home, helping them with becoming part of our community, forming new friendships and generally settling in to living with us – there really is no greater achievement.
