My mother moved from another care home to The Beeches in December 2021. Since then, and after an initial settling period, my mother's level of communication, general appearance and happiness have improved enormously. The care, kindness and professionalism of the staff at The Beeches has been fantastic.
Communications have been great.

Good experience, generally. Good standard of care. The relationship between my wife (resident) and the care staff is excellent. The surroundings are very comfortable and homely and I feel the home have dealt extremely well under difficult times with the covid-19 pandemic/lockdown. Good relationships
have been maintained with us (relatives) and family visits have been well-organised. Good communication, friendly and professional.

The staff can only be described as excellent, caring and friendly individuals, especially over the recent months when visits have been limited. Mum is obviously well cared for and happy in the home. No criticism at all, re, her care. Perhaps a few more activities could be arranged - even if repeated.

My comments are based on my experience of the home, mostly up until a year ago, before the limitations of the pandemic, which has prevented me from visiting. Since the lifting of some restrictions, I have visited and was impressed by the careful regulations to protect residents and staff of infection
from covid. Living in London and having to travel to the home, I was disappointed that no toilet facilities were made available for visitors - a portaloo perhaps? as there are none nearby. With a long-distance journey, taking 2 - 2.5 hours, the lack of toilet facilities was an impediment. Otherwise, I have always been impressed with the quality of care given to my mother. Thank you.

The quality of care and support has been exceptional ever since Mum moved to the Beeches in 2017. The staff have always gone the extra mile. My sisters and I know she is loved and in safe hands. In my professional role, I see many care homes. I know the Beeches has an outstanding CQC rating. I think
it ranks higher than that.

My mother's care has been excellent. The staff are caring, considerate and treat her with respect and love. She, in her turn, loves them. During the covid lockdown, the Beeches phoned us with regular updates on her health and situation. This enabled my wife and I to endure national covid restrictions,
knowing she was safe and happy in her home. They have at all times, operated with the clear intention of keeping their residents safe. When we visit, my mother is content and happy. The staff pop in and out for a chat and an update on how she is doing.

I like being at The Beeches and am looked after well. The staff like to help in any and every way they can and will always stop to have a chat with me. The kitchen also caters for my diabetic needs which means a lot to me.

I don't think you would find another care home that is as friendly and as kind as they are here, they do everything they can to make you happy. Also, the food and cooking is delicious, they are happy to cook any requests.

The Beeches continues to be an extraordinary home for my father and the other residents. They have kept me fully informed of the COVID-19 situation and now have successfully found a way to allow us to visit, with an inside option, yet fully COVID secure. This has meant I can still feel that I won’t
pass anything on, but can chat and see my father without him getting too cold outside. They are so thoughtful and caring, I enjoyed the Lockdown Newsletter and a regular phone call if I can’t get there. Well done all the staff at The Beeches, I am so glad we found you.

The home is very well run. The staff are all very kind and efficient, nothing is too much trouble. The home its self is well furnished. My room is one of the larger rooms. It has a double bed and it's own en-suite shower room I also like the fact that it overlooks the gardens. You can personalise your
room and again nothing is too much trouble. The common areas such as the dining room/conservatory and lounge are spacious and are comfortably furnished. I find the large well-tended gardens are excellent for walking or relaxing in. I enjoy many of the activities that are provided and before lock-down thoroughly enjoyed the entertainers that visited also the trips out. I also find access to a computer very useful. I have been here for two and a half years and the time has flown past.

The Beeches kindly accepted Mum and Dad for emergency respite care, following dad having a fall. The care they both received was first class. The staff were friendly, the home beautiful and the food was great. Thank you for giving me the peace of mind knowing they were being spoilt.

My mum has just passed away at The Beeches and I am so glad that is where she was. For her last couple of days she wasn't really conscious but that didn't stop the staff from keeping her tucked up in bed, warm cosy and cared for. I would like to thank all the staff for their care and understanding
during the ten months she was there.

My husband first went into The Beeches for respite. He has been in as a permanent resident from September 2018. The premises, facilities, cleanliness and food are all excellent. But, the outstanding aspect of The Beeches is the management and staff. Every single member of this wonderful team treats
the residents with care, respect and affection. This care also extends to the families of residents. I wish all care homes could be as good as this one.

We have been extremely pleased with the exceptional care Nanny has received since moving to The Beeches in June 2018. The manager is so approachable and all staff are friendly and helpful towards family and cannot do enough for Nanny.

The Beeches is an amazing care home. Such a relief that my mother has a dedicated team of carers to help her with everyday needs. I have spent quite a few hours at different times of the day and they always show their empathy and understanding to every resident. They encourage the residents and ensure
they have fluids and assist those requiring help at meal times with extreme patience. They take time to answer questions from families with explanations even when under pressure. The food and drinks are very appetising (they always ask if family require food or drinks) The rooms are comfortable, clean and everywhere smells fresh and clean. Very high standards of care definitely outstanding.

After mum was in 2 homes which we couldn't wait to get her out of, we found The Beeches who were happy to take her in.
They have the most amazing, caring staff and we fell confident that mum is well looked after which is something myself and my sisters could not do.
Thank you for a wonderful caring
service.

My Nan was put into the Beeches in June 2018 as she was no longer able to live in her own home. The care, support and comfort the staff and especially the Manager provide her and us on a daily basis is amazing.
There is nothing more they could do, to improve the quality of my Nan’s life. They have
exceeded all of our expectations.
The home is clean, tidy and there is always refreshments on offer and made for you if requested.
Nothing is too much trouble at the beeches. They are looking after my Nan, who is my world, amazingly.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.775)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.775) out of 10 for The Beeches is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.897 for The Beeches is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.897

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.878 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Beeches is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.978

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
