Bilney Hall offers a splendid environment for gracious living. The Hall dates back to the 19th century yet its luxurious facilities are very much 21st century. Generous single rooms, all with en-suite facilities, are tastefully decorated and provide residents with the necessary facilities for a quality life in later years. The Home provides residential care for frail elderly residents and has separate wings for those with dementia. Although all rooms are fully furnished, staff encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal possessions so that their room can be a true home from home.

Bilney Hall is situated in the picturesque village of East Bilney, just a few miles from the market towns of Dereham and Fakenham. Set in six acres of extensive grounds, residents can relax in the stunning walled garden and wooded parkland which surround the home allowing them to really enjoy this haven within the beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Care staff are trained to the highest standards, using an internal training programme, and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual. The emphasis placed on high quality staff was recently rewarded when the company received ‘Investor in People’ accreditation.

They regularly assess each resident so that they can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. The catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.

Mum has vascular dementia and has recently moved to Bilney Hall, having arrived there with a fractured hip (after a fall at home). Bilney Hall was recommended to us and, from the very start, the home manager has been informative, reassuring and supportive – helping us through a very anxious and worrying
time. Mum has now adjusted well to her new surroundings and the staff are patient and understanding towards her. They are also communicative and helpful when contacting me in regards to mum.
Mum’s room feels safe and clean, with a nice view of the hall’s estate. Mum’s various health issues have also improved now that she is eating properly and being looked after so well. This has given me peace of mind in regards to mum's needs, especially with the home’s expertise in supporting and helping people with dementia. Thank you, Bilney Hall.

My mum, who has dementia moved into Bilney Hall in August 2020 (between lockdowns). She had been living with us as part of our family for 7 years. In July 2020, we met with the manager from Bilney Hall. Hearing her views and observing her interactions with Mum helped us to make the decision to choose
Bilney. Once settled the staff facilitated weekly visits outdoors. Mum was always ready and our time together was precious. As the weather changed, visits moved into a purpose-built pod. Now due to national lockdown rules, there are no in-person visits allowed. However, the staff have been incredible at facilitating plenty of facetime calls. I also get regular updates via newsletters, phone calls and of course the wonderful 'resident of the day' calls. At a time when staff are stretched to their limits the team at Bilney just seem to dig a little deeper. Their care for Mum and for me is exceptional and I cannot commend them highly enough. Thank you.

Staff very friendly towards myself, and more importantly, my Nan. Always try to make her comfortable and offer a home from home experience. It is always clean, and they all seem to offer lots of love towards my Nan. Would highly recommend viewing this home if you need one for your family. It is the
best we found in the area.

My nan came to this care home after needing more attention due to Dementia. She wasn’t there for long before she was admitted to hospital, the care home checked in on her regularly. She was eventually sent back to the care home where they looked after her amazingly. Today was the first time I saw her
after two months of lockdown and she seems very happy and looks very well. She has needs that need to be looked after constantly and I feel the care home is doing the best they can.

Mum moved into Bilney Hall in February after her Vascular Dementia worsened, she settled in really well and has been treated respectfully. Mum suffered a setback when she developed pneumonia and was taken to hospital. She recovered and returned to Bilney Hall during the Covid lockdown and since her
return, she has been looked after so well. The staff are so lovely and today I was overjoyed to be able to visit her with social distancing in place. Mum is my hero and I am so glad she has the manager and her team taking care of her.

My mum came to Bilney Hall from hospital having been left with aphasia / vascular dementia after suffering a bleed in the brain. During her time at Bilney (sadly she passed away in November) all the staff showed compassion and patience towards her. They were imaginative with her care plan to make her
as calm and happy as possible, which could be quite a challenge! I also felt the staff were also very supportive of myself and other family members during some difficult and emotional times.

The care at Bilney Hall is of a high standard and my mother was very happy there and regarded it as her home. As with all care home costs, this represents a huge and open-ended outlay and Bilney Hall offered excellent value for money. We were very pleased as a family for what Bilney provided for my

Mum was only in Bilney Hall for two months but I’m so pleased she spent the last days of her life in such a wonderful place. The care the staff gave to mum couldn’t have been any better, she was treated with respect and dignity and they understood her in the short time they looked after her. The hall
is set in such beautiful grounds and the rooms are bright and clean.

Although mum went in for a short stay after being in hospital it is looking as if it will be longer. All the staff have been very helpful in trying to get her more mobile. Nothing seems too much trouble and always able to answer any queries we have. All the family feel happy that she is being well looked

After making the sad and difficult decision to place my step-mum in Bilney Hall ( my father was found to have terminal cancer and he was her carer). The staff and management have been the greatest support and help at this time and my stepmother has received so far the best care I could ever hope for.
The staff are caring and engage with all the residents giving them an excellent quality of life.

My brother spent over 4 years at Bilney Hall from June 2014. His argumentative and not always polite demeanour must have been a challenge for the staff but they coped with patience and professional care. During his stay, the management changed and although some really good staff left, his care remained
excellent. Now there is a new manager who is transforming Bilney Hall. The difference in the enthusiasm and happiness of the staff is very apparent. During the last few weeks of my brother's life, he was moved to the more serious dementia wing where the love, care and attention was superb.
