Broadland House is excellent. My mother resided at Broadland House from 2017 until her passing at the age of 97 in March 2024. When she entered the home, we were worried about her, she had lost most of her mobility, she was confused and was not eating or taking her medications properly. We expected
the deterioration to continue and were astounded to see the changes for the better. The staff helped her improve her mobility and she became less confused and more like her old self. She quickly grew to love the staff. She was very happy with the freshly prepared food which was just the sort she used to make herself. I and all of her other family members were so grateful to see this transformation. She remained very happy and secure at the home until her final days and here again, we were so grateful to the staff for their sensitive end-of-life care. We could sense that the staff cared for Mum because they loved her not because their job required it. We give the home the highest rating.

Broadland House is a very special place. It is the place that cares for my Mum.
The extraordinary staff are totally focused on providing round the clock resident centred care.
I am able to visit, telephone or email Mum and always find her happy and full of positive stories of her life in Broadland
House, contact with other residents and friends and the caring attention of the managers and staff. Despite the pressures, the staff always seem to be able to spend time to stop and chat with Mum.
Mealtimes are particularly special and happy times in the daily life at Broadland House and everyone takes part including the managers.
I am so grateful that Mum has such a lovely place to live.
Thank you Broadland House, for all that you do.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.408)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.408) out of 10 for Broadland House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.783 for Broadland House is calculated as follows: ( (18 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.625 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broadland House is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
