Burgh House is a two-storey building set in the rural landscape of coastal Norfolk and ensures residents lead as full a life as possible in a warm, friendly and caring environment.

The single and double bedrooms at Burgh House have en-suite facilities and are attractively furnished and decorated. Each room has a phone and television point and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to create a home-from-home environment.

The house also has two communal lounge areas, including a quiet lounge where residents can read and relax, or a large, more lively lounge which features a large screen television.

Another great delight is the landscaped garden and patio area where residents can put their green fingers to good use, or simply relax in the sunshine.

Residents can enjoy home-cooked food which is served in a spacious dining room by friendly staff. All palettes and individual diets can be catered for by the experienced kitchen staff who aim to make every meal time a pleasure.

Entertainment is regularly scheduled at the home and includes all seasonal and patriotic occasions and events. The care home provides residents with a range of optional entertainment including: weekly keep fit classes, local outings, quizzes and crafts.

Burgh House also has a visiting hairdressing, chiropodist and dry cleaning service which are available upon request.

My dad recently became a permanent resident at Burgh House. As a family, we did not really want to see Dad in a care home, but unfortunately, it was no longer possible to manage him at home. The team at Burgh House have been so understanding of all my worries and any issues that arise they always address
promptly. The care staff and management team really do care and will look at each resident as an individual. They are happy to discuss and implement individual requests/needs even if these are not part of the usual routines. Thank you to all the team. I would definitely recommend.

My aunt moved to Burgh House in March 202, sadly dying in late October at the fantastic age of 98. Burgh House staff made the last few months of my aunt's life as happy and comfortable as they possibly could. I had confidence in them, their care and their professionalism. I felt they always had my aunt's
best interests at heart and were welcoming of her family. As a social care manager myself I would have no hesitation in recommending Burgh House, its staff and management team for looking after my aunt so well in those last few months of her life.

From the first phone call to the manager who came to our home which was very informal, discussed Burgh House and the service they provided for my father. Initially my father was going to stay for respite for a month. We have now a confirmed diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. Unfortunately, we are unable to sustain
the high level of care in his own home. The manager and staff were very welcoming.

My Aunt was resident in Burgh House from May 2019 to September 2021, and during that time had excellent care from the team there. From being in a confused, lonely and physically weak state on arrival she improved immediately and enjoyed the company of the residents and being the home where her mother
(my grandmother) was resident for many years too. During the covid19 pandemic, the staff at management at Burgh House diligently protected the residents and kept them safe.

Our mum has only been at Burgh House for a week and she is already looking so much better. She’s so much happier too and more relaxed. The owner/manager has been excellent, friendly and professional and organised everything for her arrival in a very short time. He, along with the staff have made the
transition so smooth and made mum feel so welcome and my sister and me. Everything that was said would be done has been done and mum is settling in well. My thanks to you all.

My Mum was in Burgh House for about 2 1/2 years.
The care given was always excellent. Carers kept in touch, with care plans and changes reported to my sister and I. The Manager and secretary always kept in touch about any problems, and the information was always given in an appropriate and professional
manner. The food was good with lots of variety. My sister and I could not have asked for better care for our mum, we as a family would recommend Burgh House to any families looking to keep their loved ones safe and looked after while needing care and assistance in their later years.
Thanks to all involved in my mum’s journey.

The staff are excellent and always helpful and look after my mother really well, even more so during this Covid-19 pandemic.
It's been a hard twelve months for everybody involved in the care home and they have managed to keep the place running and families updated.

My mum has been here since September 2020. Can't rate the home enough. From staff to activities. Even during the lockdown. Communication is great. The staff are friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is exceedingly clean, well decorated and homely. When allowed days out are organized and unlike
some homes, we can pick mum up when we want to take her out.
All staff and management are prepared to help residents when needed.
10/10 in all aspects of the home.

My lovely nan has resided at Burgh House for twenty months. When she came to you, she had had a lengthy stay in hospital and had been very unwell.
Nan soon began to flourish and became stronger with each passing day with the love and care from all the wonderful care team. She truly thrived on the tasty
home-cooked food and loved all of the entertainment that is offered - particularly the sing-along parties!
She had become frightened in her own home, but this fear evaporated at Burgh House, and this was a pure joy to see.
Nan became my nan again, and for that, I will always be so grateful.
My Nan sadly passed away last week, but even at this incredibly difficult time, this wonderful home shone through. With careful safety checks, I was able to be with my nan in her final days. My nan was cared for with such love, dignity and compassion by the amazing team, and I too was always so well supported. I cannot thank you all enough for everything you have done.

My Mother recently had 3 weeks convalescence care at Burgh House following a lengthy hospital stay, and from start to finish, the attention to her needs were absolutely first class. Mum had endured a very difficult few months with ill health, and was in great need of TLC - she was certainly given great
care and attention. She had a lovely bright en suite room, and all her needs were met and indeed exceeded. I had real concerns about Mums potential to fall but the Manager and his team went above and beyond, to ensure her safety at all times, and kept a close watch on her mobility (and safety) as her health and strength began to improve and she became more mobile. All the staff, without exception, were cheerful and helpful, and Mum enjoyed her daily visits from the chef! She happily advised that the food was really lovely! The Manager communicated with me regularly about Mums welfare, and even with the present Covid issue, very careful visits were supported. The whole team deserve a big thank you!

We found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Mother went there for respite following a stay in hospital with a broken leg so she was not very mobile. Staff listened carefully to the family when putting together a care plan. Mum had regular welfare checks to ensure her wellbeing. Staff were also very
accommodating in allowing visits where possible, which helped with mum's mental wellbeing as well as her physical recovery.

I don't have a bad word to say about Burgh House. From the initial contact, the manager was immediately interested in discussing what Grandad is like as an individual and what his likes and dislikes and needs were in order to provide tailored care, and this approach meant so much. The process of trying
to place him, navigating what is already a minefield, but especially doing so during COVID was really tricky and emotionally draining but the manager provided fantastic support and reassurance at this time. Since Grandad moved in, the worries we had as a family have about his safety have gone, we have complete trust in Burgh House. The care is holistic and personalised, the facilities are fantastic and the whole team are second to none and always friendly, approachable and willing to help. During COVID it has felt particularly difficult with not being able to have physical contact but a huge thank you to the whole team for the care you provide and for all that you do, you're amazing!

My grandma moved into Burgh House Care Home just one year ago. As I’m sure it is for many residents and their families, the experience of leaving behind her own home/our lifelong family hub was upsetting and traumatic. Arriving at Burgh House, the staff were lovely, supportive and welcoming and Grandma
very quickly settled in accepting it as her new home and has always seemed extremely happy, which has been a huge relief to us. Burgh House is a wonderful care home and staff are kind, caring and treat Grandma with respect and dignity. The manager is approachable and accommodating and obviously cares a lot about the wellbeing and happiness of his residents. In these current difficult times of the global pandemic, the manager and his staff have made a huge effort to find innovative ways to keep residents in connection with their families and we were all very grateful for that on my grandmas 92nd birthday recently. I feel happy knowing Grandma is safe, happy and well cared for at Burgh House.

Both my nanny and great aunt are residents here and the care and attention they receive is wonderful. I have worked in Health and Social Care for 30 years starting from the age of 18. I am delighted to have been appointed to Registered Manager within Burgh House and working locally within my home town.


I am qualified with NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care & Registered Managers Award and have various Training courses undertaken within the companies.


I am passionate about good care and believe everyone should be cared for as if they were your family, that way everyone will receive the best you can offer.
