My mother has been a resident for 5 years I can not fault the care she has been given. The staff are very friendly and approachable.

Mum sadly passed away on December 24th and after being a resident at the home for more than 4 years I thought it would be only correct to share my thoughts with future residents families. Mum had vascular dementia that was getting progressively worse. However at no time during her stay did I feel the
attention to detail of looking after Mum wavered. The staff were always lovely with her and also I felt kept me up to speed if she had any falls or doctor had visited they always updated my wife and myself.

The home is not the most modern but my father, when he was alive, lived in one that was like a 5 star hotel but had no sole to it. Church Farm has this in spades and with you being allowed to have meals with your family member pre-Covid times those things mean so much. The main eating and lounge area are lovely so visitors can get together with other residents and have a chat, as well as there being smaller areas for more personal visits.

No complaints from our family.

Mum is 100 today and has been in Church Farm Residential Care Home at Hemsby Gt, Yar. for 2 months.
We would like to put on record how wonderful her care has been, the care home have made her so welcome and the care she tells us she gets is fantastic, and the food is to die for! (top-class hotel standard)
In these challenging times we live in, the home have gone out of their way to help her celebrate her 100th birthday at a time when we can't even visit.
We have to say a Big Thank You to the management, all staff and carers at Church Farm!
You have made one Lady feel very special today. Thank You.

Based upon 8 months experience. Scenic, accessible location - spacious attractive grounds - good car park. Friendly staff (carers, nursing, canteen, cleaners) treat residents with fondness and dignity. Clean, fresh and bright room (with ensuite) personalised with family photos and memorabilia and own
TC. Dining area spacious and bright - quality food, well varied. Several small, cosy lounges looking out over pleasant country view and TV. It is such a comfort to know Father-in-law is in a safe secure, friendly, caring environment - worth every penny. Overall the facility, in my opinion, is well managed and professionally run.

The staff are always welcoming and caring. The fixtures and furnishing and general decor are constantly being updated. They now have a permanent activities coordinator,m which has considerably improved with the activities. There are regular resident/family meetings to discuss any issues or improvements.
The food is always wholesome and well presented and offers a wide choice of dishes and will always cater for any specials requests at any time of day.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.375)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.375) out of 10 for Church Farm Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Church Farm Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.375 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Church Farm Residential Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.25

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
