The staff were superb, caring, knowledgeable and supportive.
I live in Cape Town and was kept up to date with the progress of my 93-year-old mother.
I can't criticise any aspect of the service provided and would heartily recommend Cranmer House.

It is very difficult to find anything to criticise. All the Cranmer House staff could not be kinder, nothing is too much trouble. I felt the food, although well cooked and varied, could be spicier. No activities were offered during my stay. I enjoyed my time here and hope to return soon.

I was extremely happy to use the care home as it afforded my wife a break, which was very much needed as caring for me has become quite a burden on her health which has gone downhill with the large workload of looking after me. Whilst looking after me she suffered a heart attack which has put more pressure
on her health. A week without me with your assistance did her the power of good.

I have often over the years visited friends receiving care in Cranmer House and cannot speak highly enough of the level of care (lovingly given). The excellent food - in fact, it is one of the best care homes I have ever had occasion to visit.

My husband went into Cranmer House for a week's respite starting 26th November 2016. I cannot praise the care that he received highly enough. The staff were very efficient whilst being caring and considerate of individual resident's needs. The food was very good, hot and tasty. Rooms were always clean,
with good appropriate furniture. My husband had an electric rise and fall chair, also a TV and own toilet and wash basins. Comfortable bed. The bathrooms were always warm and large, with carers on hand to help. On two occasions my husband was taken into Fakenham, one to the church to see the wonderful display of Christmas trees they hold each year. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home .

Staff are very friendly and the food is good and varied. Slightly early start to the day (6:30 am) maybe 7am would be more humane. Alert system good and very responsive except at meal times. Some evidence of staff shortages but didn't seem to diminish service.

The food was good and varied. Calls were usually quickly answered except at very busy times when one was asked to wait a little while. It was not always easy to get an appointment with the doctors. We were always encouraged to go downstairs to eat with the other residents except at tea time. They had
excellent recipes for soup. If the call bell was pressed it was always answered even if it was a busy time and asked to wait until help could be given. Visiting was always encouraged and visitors were never harassed but out of hours was not encouraged but always accommodated.

I stayed for 5 weeks at Cranmer House in Fakenham. During my stay I had excellent treatment from all the staff, they were very caring, kind and helpful. The home cooked lunches were fabulous and the activities in the afternoons were very good. Cranmer house made my recuperation pleasurable and I think
it's such a credit to the NHS. Keep up the good work.

As always my mother had a excellent stay for respite care to allow me to have a much needed holiday. The staff are very kind and caring and she loves them all. She is always happy to stay at Cranmer House I never have to worry about her while she is staying there, I have never heard anyone complain
whilst staying there.

I had not previously heard of Cranmer House. I spent time in the hospital wing and rehab area. Care was excellent in every way. Staff courteous, caring and encouraging at all times. The food was excellent.

I spent nine nights at the home, this was my second visit. As I have a heart condition, my daughter decided that when she was abroad on holiday, that I would be safer living with others rather than being alone. I am very impressed with Cranmer House and it deserves it's widely held good reputation.
The medical care is good, staff are cheerful and friendly. The cuisine is excellent with plenty of choice. The house is light, airy and well furnished with five pleasant lounges. It compares to a well known home. It would be very sad to lose it.

Instantly you approach Cranmer house - looks welcoming - inside it is bright, airy and light. No smells. Dad's bedroom, toilet always clean, bed changed every day. TV provided. Dad was very comfortable.
Staff are very caring, kind and always polite and respectful. Dad loved his food nhere. On at least
3 occasions dad was wheeled out and around by activities member away from Cranmer. Staff always kind and friendly to family.
Family had great confidence that dad was always cared for. We all wish dad could have stayed her forever. I will always be grateful for the wonderful care dad received while here. Thank you all for caring for our dad.

I was very apprehensive at coming in as my first time was very tearful. I have only been in for 8 days but have loved every minute and will be tearful when I have to go home. Staff wonderful, food wonderful, nothing too much trouble.

My mother has spent a week at Cranmer House. The staff have been wonderful to her kind and caring. The food has been good and a lot of effort has been made. I find something she feels like eating. She is not well but has felt safe while she was here.

Kirsty Sleightholme

Joined: 2004

I have worked in the care sector for many years, initially completing my nurse training at the West Suffolk Hospital. I have worked both within hospital and care home settings, each bringing their own experiences. My passion purely and simply is people, particularly giving support to those needing it most and when experiencing real difficulty in their lives.


I have worked at Cranmer House for over 20 years and feel very proud of the whole team’s achievements and our reputation within the local community. I very much enjoy being part of an innovative and forward thinking company, whose values we all aspire to.
