Dorrington House (Dereham) is a purpose-built facility that is located close to the town centre, with ample parking and one acre of established gardens. All rooms are ground floor single with en-suite facilities. The home offers Wi-Fi facilities for video visiting, and all care plans are available online.

Communal areas include a spacious main lounge/dining room as well as a bar area. Entertainment is also held in this room as well as fundraising events for 'Friends of the Home'. There is a large flat screen television for residents and a wide selection of traditional meals are offered.

Families are welcome at any time and the team encourage them to spend meaningful time with their loved ones, playing an active role in their care. Feel free to ask for the username and password to view the online care plan from home - contact the team for further details.

Relatives are welcome to come and share a meal with the residents if they wish and if ordered in advance. Residents have the use of a greenhouse and some of the more physically able residents use the greenhouse and sell the flowers and vegetables to raise money for 'Friends of the Home'. We used Dorrington House (Dereham) for a two week respite care period for my mother-in-law who has dementia. Staff and management were really supportive in taking into consideration specific needs and requests in the care plan. We felt confidence leaving Mum and were reassured every time we rang. On
picking Mum up, she was happy and enjoyed her stay. I would not hesitate to use Dorrington House again.

The King's Coronation Part, what a joyous time was had by all the residents and families who popped in! I really enjoyed a good sing-along. The wonderful people at Dorrington House always make you feel special, the care team and management are professional and make an effort to put my mother as an individual cared for with love and kindness.
It is a pleasure to speak on the phone to the wonderful staff. The home is pleasant in lovely surroundings

I am so impressed with how homely and welcoming Dorrington House staff have been towards my nan. She has settled in extremely quickly and is more than happy with her new home. The staff have clearly taken the time to get to know Nan, her preferences and her personality. The management of the home made
the move for us as a family very straightforward and stress-free sorting everything out for us. The little things really make the biggest difference.

In the short time, my dad stayed at Dorrington House we were struck by how caring all the staff were, nothing was too much trouble. The team leader even came in on her day off to see how my dad was. All the staff took time to explain how my dad was and the process of palliative care was also explained.
One person, in particular, was exceptional in her listening, she is a credit to your team.

From day one, my mum was welcomed into the Dorrington family. What an amazing care home. Dorrington House is like a big family home, everyone is included and welcomed. The care is exceptional, everyone is treated with kindness, compassion and respect. All the staff are so kind, nothing is too much trouble
for them. You really feel the kindness from all the staff from the office staff, team leader, carers, hairdresser, cleaning staff, kitchen staff - absolutely everyone. With Mum having been in other care settings we really thought this standard of care was not about but Dorrington House has proved us wrong. If you have an elderly relative who needs care look no further than Dorrington House you will not be disappointed.

From the very first day that Dad was taken into Dorrington House, he was treated with love and care by everyone. He calls it his hotel. All of his family are very happy with the care he receives at Dorrington House and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing care.
