We are beyond grateful to all the staff at The Elms Care Home. My mum was a resident for just over three years, having had a diagnosis of dementia for nearly ten years. The care givers were always welcoming, nothing was ever too much trouble and always had time for a chat. Sadly, Mum passed away recently
and the staff were so kind and compassionate during this sad time. We will always have fond memories of this excellent care home.

Nan moved into The Elms in December 2021 having been diagnosed with cancer and as a family, we felt that she needed 24hour care. We were amazed at how quickly Nan settled in, a testament to how welcoming the staff were and the level of care was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and Nan thought
the world of the staff and vice versa. Nan's health deteriorated very quickly and the staff went out of their way to make sure we got to spend her last hours together, looking after us, as well as her. If I had to recommend a home to anyone, it would be The Elms. Everyone took the time and effort to chat and they were on the end of the phone, if we had any concerns. Keep up the good work. Thank you so much to the manager and the team for everything.

My dad was only with The Elms for 2-weeks before he passed away, but I'm so very glad he came to here. They are really a home from home, and although I couldn't visit until the very end due to covid and lockdown, the manager and her team were always extremely helpful and friendly each day I rang. I
feel like my dad got tender care from them at a time when I was unable to give him it myself. And I must say, that at the very end, the manager went above and beyond, helping me to see my dad, and I will always be so very grateful for that. A special mention of thanks and gratitude goes to one lady who sat with my dad when he passed. Thank you for making a horrible time better.

Reply from Paul Godfrey, Director at The Elms

Thank you for your kind words. The team strive to do the best they can in what has been an extremely challenging year. They do what they do without seeking praise, so when it is received, it means a lot to them. Thank you.

The Manager and the team have done a wonderful job of integrating my Mum into her new home. Everyone, residents and staff always make us feel welcome when visiting, whatever the time of day or night. Since being at The Elms my Mum's mental health has improved, this I am sure is due to the dedication
of the hard working staff and the relaxed, friendly, homely atmosphere of her new home.
