Mum has been at Fairland House for a few months and has settled in extremely well. We live six hours and every time I call and visit the management and carers are always extremely accommodating and answer our questions immediately. The food is excellent, the home is very clean and welcoming and the
activities are excellent. I would recommend Fairland House.

I would highly recommend Fairland House Care Home. The owner was absolutely amazing along with his managers and staff of the home in my hour of need in making my mothers move into Fairland House within hours of my request. They showed my mother and I kindness, compassion and are very professional. They
show respect to everyone own needs.

The worries, stress and difficulties we faced having to put my partner's mum in a care home was all addressed by management. After visiting her everyday, we recognised how management and all staff were so caring and friendly, and dealt with all our issues and concerns professionally. All the staff are
excellent and am so grateful that my partner's mum is calm and reassured that she is being looked after by really nice people at this sad and worry time. Thank you all.

Mum has been at Fairland House for almost a year now and is truly settled. Fairland House has and is still improving, its staff are wonderful and friendly. Improvements have been made in the living areas such as the lounge, quiet lounge and conservatory which is a vast improvement. The management listens
to any concerns or improvements you may think are needed.

I think management and staff are working very hard to make Fairland House a home from home. It is good to see you now have a new activities person who is making it more enjoyable for the residents, staff and families. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and someone is always available to
discuss any worries or queries we may have. Residents are always treated with respect. I have the most utmost respect for the management and staff for doing an excellent job which is never easy.

I find Fairland House a lovely place, the staff are always happy and smiley. There is always someone on hand to answer any questions I may have and I am always kept informed of anything affecting my Mother. It's nice to see when I visit that there is either music on, the TV on, or some activity happening.
It's good to see that the staff are always coming in and out to check the residents have everything they need.

It wasn't an easy decision to move my father into residential care, but it was the right decision. He seems to have settled in well and looks much better than he did during the prolonged hospital stay which preceded his move to Fairland House.
He is at very high risk of falls and I feel he is safe
now - they do everything they can to help and have responded swiftly to medical issues he has experienced recently. I'm happy he's in their care.

We had reservations when he first went in as old place and being redecorated and improving all the time.
But we need not have worried as some 20 months late my brother's care has been excellent. We are informed promptly of any changes in his condition and doctor's surgery opposite is a bonus as any
problems, they are at hand. Thank you to all the staff, very friendly.

My mum has been at Fairland House for over a year and I am so happy knowing that she is being kept safe and well. (Especially in the current situation). I'm confident that she is being well cared for by the lovely, friendly staff who go the extra mile to look after their residents. There is always a
lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing. I love that they have a great activities coordinator and a Facebook page where you are able to see photos and videos of some of their afternoon antics. So important when visiting has to be limited in these times. Thank you to the manager and her great team for being so caring towards my mum.

Mother was admitted to respite care after having a fall with a broken pelvis that developed into painful sciatica. Her care has been excellent and she is now fully mobile again.
She was well looked after and the family was pleased she was safe and secure.

I was looked after very well after getting a nasty bug. The quality of care was excellent and after nearly 3 weeks of their care, I was well enough to go home.

A very pleasant "home from home" staff seemed to go out of their way to make my lovely Dad comfy and happy in many ways. His love of singing, his likes and dislikes of food and drink and chatting about "the past".
They assisted with doctor's appointments where possible and also sorted out a haircut
and a chiropodist appointment too. Thank you all very much. I only marked satisfactory for value for money because all such establishments are expensive.

The staff and level of care are what make Fairland House. My mother has been here 2 1/2 years now and is very settled here. She chooses not to participate in activities but that is not due to lack of choice. The public areas have received a spruce up in an ongoing refurb. Mother is very well looked
after and all needs met by friendly, caring staff. I highly recommend this home.

Fairland House Care Home is by far the most friendly and happiest home we as a family have visited, a testament to that is Mum states she is not moving anywhere she loves her home, so so happy there, she feels safe. The staff are so kind and attentive, the care is personalized to the individual with
choice and dignity shown.
There is a varied choice of meals always well presented of ample size.
The manager leads her team by example she is enthusiastic, happy and very hard working this reflects on her team, she is always approachable and reassuring to both family and residents, nothing is too much trouble. We are always made to feel welcome it is pleasure to visit.
Our grateful thanks to all the staff for making Mum so happy

I have just visited as part of a resident's & their families Christmas Lunch. The staff were amazing in looking after everybody - getting the residents into the dining areas and getting the families seated with them. They were all dressed up in festive clothing and went about everything in a cheerful,
"can do" manner. To see my Nan joining in with the singing after the meal was a joyful sight. Thank you to all the staff for all you have done to date, today just showed what a great place this is.

On April 1st I was taken to hospital, where my heart stopped 4 times, my organs started to shut down and I had pneumonia. After 3 weeks in hospital, I was transferred to the above care home for 7 weeks. Much of the time passed in a 'haze' but I do remember how excellent the care was before returning
home.
My husband has Parkinson's/Lewy Bodies Dementia is in a nursing home but I was still doing quite a lot for him. In the end my doctor said I was worn out, so I have just completed a further 4 weeks respite. Once again I have been looked after very well because I am probably more aware of my surroundings this time, staff patience with residents is amazing.

Fairfield is a lovely care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The care my mother receives is excellent. The home is clean and tidy and very homely. Food is good with good sized portions and a good variety. The gardens are also beautiful. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the flowers and

We moved my Mum in Law to Fairland House in June 2016 and she has settled in very well. She has a lovely room with a big window, huge comfy armchair, a good sized TV and an ensuite. The garden here is amazing and has lots of places to sit down to enjoy the sunshine if you so wish.
The staff are hard
working, kind and caring and the manager is outstanding. We have been able to stop worrying about our relative now because we know she's so well taken care of. On a side note, the tea and cake that is often provided when we visit is so kind and always very much appreciated!

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.516)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.516) out of 10 for Fairland House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.716 for Fairland House is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.716

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Fairland House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
