Manor House understands making a decision for a loved one is a difficult task especially when Residential Care sometimes receives adverse publicity. Manor House is owned and managed by a local family who live in South Norfolk. Professionals pride themselves on always looking to improve the service they offer and making sure the Resident comes first in whatever they do. The family is involved on a daily basis with each home supporting the Managers to ensure an ‘excellent’ service is maintained to all Residents.

Manor House is situated just a few miles East of Norwich in the village of Blofield and is a home for elderly people without Dementia. In the summer of 2012 they also opened a person centred dementia care facility. Tom Ground, the architect, who, having won a number of awards for residential care facilities, has incorporated a number of design features that will help enable residents with dementia to lead a full and as active life as possible.   

The provider is proud of the homes they offer, careful to make sure they feel like a home rather than a hotel, using good quality furnishings and making sure they are well maintained inside and out.

The long standing manager, is supported by a well trained team of staff who proudly deliver person centred care, daily activities, and lovely traditional home cooked food.

The care shown for my mother for the near 2 years she was a resident was second to none. The quality of care was unquestionable, maintained mum’s dignity at all times and where she truly felt at home. The staff were always nothing but helpful with nothing was ever too much trouble keeping mum safe,
sound and respected at all times.


Throughout the week there is a great program of activities which always kept mum alert and entertained.


Food and meals are of great quality and cater for all dietary needs.


Christmas is a real celebration at Manor House. From pantomimes to carol singers, decoration making, not to mention Christmas dinner with staff in fancy dress. Couple this with the summer fete and other events throughout the year, create the opportunity for families to play an active part of the home.


I cannot thank the manager and the whole team enough for the care they showed towards mum. The level of care and support was superb and will never be forgotten. Thank you!

Manor Lodge is one of the best care homes I have been to. My dad has been there for 6 months and he settled extremely quickly. The standard of nursing care is high, food very good and an excellent level of contact with staff - they always try to update me on any change in my dad's condition. There are
2 activity co-ordinators employed so residents are entertained regularly. My dad has dementia and there have recently been some behavioural problems which staff have worked hard to resolve.

When my mother-in-law entered the home, I was overwhelmed with the greeting they gave her, lots of hugs and a very friendly start to her final time with us. All staff have worked really well together and have bowed to all her needs. They have kept her comfortable and happy in the time she has here.
Can't thank them enough for all they've done, in her last few weeks we had her with us.

All staff are compassionate and caring in all aspects of their daily duties (I would say work but, as they have said its a vocation not a job).
Carers take their time with residents who need time to evaluate what is being asked of them.

Due to failing health and a desire to be near to her family, I arranged for my mother to move from a care home in Teesside to Manor House in Blofield in May 2016. I viewed a good number of care homes in the area before selecting Manor House. I have to say that the standard of care my mum received and
the dignity with which they supported her (and my elderly father who visited every day) was exemplary. Indeed I cannot thank them enough for the care and attention they gave my mum during her final months. The staff could not be faulted in any way. The manager is a kind, professional and caring lady, she clearly employs a team with similar dedication to the elderly folk in her care... I would have no hesitation in recommending Manor House to friends or family if they need somewhere clean and homely with good food and entertainment and great care to entrust the final years of a loved one.. Well done team Manor House, I am proud to have met you all..

I am very happy with the care my mother received for her year at Manor House. The staff were unfailingly patient, preserving her dignity as far as humanly possible, including the times when she was uncooperative due to dementia. Staff kept me fully informed of any treatment changes. Food provided
was good and plentiful. The decor was a bit tired, but the whole place was kept very clean.

Choosing a care home is always difficult, with Manor House, my sister and I feel that we have fallen on our feet. Mum has been in Manor House for seven months now. The care is excellent, the staff are wonderful; nothing is too much trouble and the staff keep us in the loop regarding her care. Mum
is very settled there, despite very limited mobility she attends activities – the other week she made cakes; visits the purpose built hair salon and has her nails painted regularly. Manor House is a bright, very well kept home, located in pleasant grounds, which in my view, coupled with the other factors listed, made it the perfect choice.

My father was a resident at Manor Lodge for almost 3 years. Despite his inevitable decline, staff were always very patient, caring and gentle whatever mood my father happened to be in. Staff were exceptionally helpful whenever I visited and the manageress always made time to discuss any issues I had,
offer suggestions and was extremely helpful. I was always consulted regarding any changes to medication / treatment. My father's care and comfort always came first. Visitors were welcome at any time.

Meet our Manager - Iuliana Bida
Iuliana began her career at Manor House in 2018, as a
carer, proving to be adedicated member of the
team with her real passion for the care of our residents.
Progression soon followed to a more senior role whilst also gaining an NVQ in Social Care, Level 3. This was
followed up with a Level 5 in Leadership and
Management, giving her a deeper understanding of
the skills and knowledge required for managing
residents and staff within her care, and focussing on
the creation of a happy and positive environment in
which to live.


Iuliana is supported by a loyal team who will welcome you to Manor House & Lodge.
