I am really happy that I found Nightingale Care Home for my Mum in March 2023. All the staff have been so kind, patient, and caring and I get updates on any health issues. The staff were genuinely fond of my Dad, who also joined Mum at Nightingale and they enjoyed living in a twin room together, but
sadly he got aspiration pneumonia connected to his dementia.
There are often improvements to the home - inside and outside - and it is always clean, tidy and very warm. I like that the food menu has photos as well which is helpful for some residents. The daily activities and trips out are really welcome although Mum has sight issues so can't engage as much.
The food and regular drinks and snacks are all excellent quality.
Overall, I am really happy that my Mum is being looked after so well and made to feel at home. Thanks to the whole team.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Mum forms a large part of the home and always mentions how she has supported the home from years ago with planters and the gardens which is lovely for her to share these memories with us although may not be fully accurate.

My husband has been in Nightingale Care Home since mid-March this year. I cannot express enough the care and consideration that he has been shown. It is a valuable asset when you can know your relative is being cared for as they are here. As a family, we are so pleased that the care in this Home is
such a high standard and we can feel assured of this. All the staff are great and have a difficult job with different residents with so many different problems. Thank you all.

Staff is always friendly and welcoming and willing to listen and help from a family member's perspective. Staff show a kind caring nature with residents, never rushing them, language can seem a barrier but the body language shown by carers looks caring. May benefit from some dementia training as I do
hear staff question residents and use some negative terms when perhaps could be avoided however Nice to see regular committed activities Staff this is so important.
The appearance of the grounds and decor improving nicely which is improving the feel of the place but some regular garden maintenance would be even better. I'm sure families would help.

Friendly staff who care about the residents. Pleasant environment with plenty of planned activities. Food in keeping with age and dietary needs. Small rooms that meet needs but only the minimum furniture. As social care funded, unable to comment on value for money.

The staff and management are so welcoming to our family whenever we visit, no matter what is going on or how busy they are. Management and staff are constantly trying to enhance and improve surroundings for the residents, ensuring there are plenty of themed activities for them to enjoy, which frequently
involves invitations to families should they wish to take part. From our experiences, the residents are spoken to kindly and with care. Any of our questions, concerns or requests have been dealt with in a timely manner. If anything we have raised has been outside of the control of the care home they have done their best to resolve it and reach a positive outcome. We visit almost daily and the running of Nightingale always appears consistent. They are a wonderful and well led team, well done to you all.

Mum received excellent end of life care here. Staff sat and talked to her in her last hours and nurses came in to administer more medication into the late-night hours and talked to her and us. What could have been so traumatic was eased greatly. I cannot speak highly enough of this great caring team.
Well done and thanks

My mum has now been at Nighingales for a few weeks. Mum has dementia. I have seen a massive improvement in her since coming here. She is happy, chatty and much more like the old her. The staff here have been amazing and have also given me lots of advice and reassurance on different matters.
Mum is
now in the best place for her where I know she is safe and looked after.
I want to say a massive thank you to all the staff for everything you have done and continue to do for me and mum, you have made life for us that little bit easier.
You are all superstars.

I am very happy with my wife being in Nightingales. She came here August 2016 and has been in here just over 2 years. The food here is excellent. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The care home is only 10 minutes from where I live. It is very handy for visiting.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.724)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.724) out of 10 for Nightingale Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.486 for Nightingale Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (38 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.486

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.238 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nightingale Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.638

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
