My nan has moved here recently and the care home is amazing. My nan has been made to feel welcome and at home straight away. The care staff are all treating my nan with care, respect and dignity. The management have been excellent with family answering questions and reassuring us. The activities coordinator
is fantastic at keeping nanny entertained and busy daily. I have no concerns at all and highly recommend the place. Thank you for welcoming nan and family.

My mum has only been here a few weeks but she has been welcomed and made to feel included and at home straight away. The staff are all fabulous and are all looking after my mum well. I have no concerns. The rooms are lovely. Mum has a choice of meals, she enjoys the different activities including Bingo.
I am sure Mum will continue to be very happy here.

All residents are a family at the Old Rectory, the home is clean and has brilliant staff who deeply care and love their jobs, this makes a huge difference when placing your loved one in a home. They have an excellent entertainment coordinator, you can see all their antics on their social media page,
it's wonderful to see.
My father came from a horrible home which he was placed in without our choice. Once Dad was at the Old Rectory, he put on weight, had the care he needed, he was clean and very well looked after. This home isn't just a care home, everyone is family.
If you want a home for your loved one look at the Old Rectory, their staff is very well trained, when I visited for the first time I asked hundreds of questions not only to staff but residents and visitors about what they thought of the home, I really looked on their reviews and CQC rating which is currently Good, I'm expecting them to be higher at the next inspection. I've worked in care for 33 years and would definitely recommend Old Rectory.

The residents of this care home have had a wonderful summer with trips to the races, the Gt. Yarmouth Waterways, garden centres and coffee shops. They have had singers to entertain them, a fete with Elvis entertaining everyone. Together with the usual activities and the occasional ice cream, they have
all enjoyed themselves. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for making this happen.

My Father has been a resident for approximately two years now and is very settled here. The staff are polite, caring and kind towards the residents.
There are plenty of activities laid on for them and there is no pressure to take part if they don’t want to.
It’s been a tough time for us coping with
a loved one with dementia but the management team and admin have been extremely supportive throughout, thank you.

Both of my parents have been residents at the Old Rectory Care Home since December 2022. I had managed to find care for them in their home since 2016 but as their dementia and mobility deteriorated, this was not sustainable. It was very important to find a friendly and cosy place for them to live and
be looked after with love and compassion.
On my first visit, I was immediately struck with the lovely atmosphere and feeling of warmth around the Old Rectory. The residents seemed engaged and happy and the staff were chatting to them as friends not just 'service users'.
My parents have settled well and formed friendships with staff and residents alike, as have I!
It's never easy to make the decision to put your loved ones into full-time care but I have felt reassured that they are being well looked after. I have no regrets. Highly recommended.

My mother (in-law) moved into The Old Rectory in January 2021 with dementia, following a long battle at home against the disease. The family had no other choice but to place Mum in a Care Home for her own safety, (the family were attending her 24 hours a day seven days a week for the final three months).
She was very agitated and frightened and could not be or wanted to be left alone, however following considerable understanding, reassurance and care from the staff at the Old Rectory her demeanour became less agitated and frightened, the staff were excellent and understanding in attending to her special needs, unfortunately, Mum passed away in May 2021.
The professional care and commitment shown to her by all the staff were excellent. The family would like to send them our heartfelt thanks.

Being a manager I thrive on the many challenges that occur, as it gives me a great sense of achievement. I believe it is so important to always work as a team. I am so lucky to have such a great team working beside me. I am fair and supportive and will always offer guidance to staff. I love to watch staff achieve and become the best versions of themselves.


I feel it’s also so important to ensure our residents have happiness whilst living at the Old Rectory, by delivering high-quality care and having their involvement on how they would like their home from being involved in decision-making about activities they would like or menus.


I am passionate about residents having choices and being able to make their own decisions relating to their care!


I have a strong team that keeps things running day-to-day but as the care manager, I provide the overall guidance and leadership. I am there to support my care staff in the successful delivery of care to all of our residents.


Biggest achievement in work and/or life:
My biggest achievement is having my first ever CQC inspection and achieving/maintaining a good! (2022).
