From the first moment I walked in I felt a sense of calm and caring. There was no smell. I was introduced to all the staff and the manager was very helpful and reassuring at a very difficult time. Every time I ring or visit I am made to feel I have made the right decision and nothing is too much trouble
from staying for lunch or my mum's dog staying here with her. I cannot express enough how wonderful it is here. Thank you.

Mum has been at The Old Rectory for about 18 months now. Initially everything was good - the atmosphere between management and staff was very friendly and professional. The staff then started to leave and things went downhill. A lot of agency staff were used which is very unsettling for someone with
dementia. Various people came from head office to keep things going as the manager left (no explanation given). The staff were very stressed and not sure of what was happening, but they keep things going. New staff have now started and today I met the new manager, who seems very enthusiastic about the future. Her priority is the residents and also the welfare and treatment of the staff. I feel mum is happier now there is someone in charge who seems to be aware of their role as manager.

My ethos as Old Rectory’s Manager:
Being a manager I thrive on the many challenges that occur, as it gives me a great sense of achievement. I believe it is so important to always work as a team. I am so lucky to have such a great team working beside me. I am fair and supportive and will always offer guidance to staff. I love to watch staff achieve and become the best versions of themselves.


I feel it’s also so important to ensure our residents have happiness whilst living at the Old Rectory, by delivering high-quality care and having their involvement on how they would like their home from being involved in decision-making about activities they would like or menus.


I am passionate about residents having choices and being able to make their own decisions relating to their care!


I have a strong team that keeps things running day-to-day but as the care manager, I provide the overall guidance and leadership. I am there to support my care staff in the successful delivery of care to all of our residents.


Biggest achievement in work and/or life:
My biggest achievement is having my first ever CQC inspection and achieving/maintaining a good! (2022).

Jade has worked at the old Rectory for 3 years and has worked previously as a Senior care assistant. She began at the Old rectory as our home administrator and took a position within the home as a Senior care assistant. She has since applied for Deputy manager is and is flourishing in this role. Jade is currently working towards her level 5 diploma in health and social care. Jade continues to thrive for the best and is doing well within her role.
