Broadland View Care Home is an elegant, privately run care home situated on the outskirts of Norwich, overlooking the picturesque Yare Valley.

The home offers a warm and welcoming environment where the experienced team provides care for older people with dementia. Personalised care plans focus on individual needs, interests and choices, and are developed by working closely with residents and their families.

Residents are actively encouraged to stay as independent as possible and have regular opportunities to take part in various events and activities organised by the home’s activities coordinator, aimed at promoting health and wellbeing. Visitors, including families and friends, are always welcome to visit the home.

Broadland View Care Home caters for residents within an attractive period property bordered by two lovely gardens, featuring a fountain, garden pavilion and mature trees. The home is set far back from the road yet remains close to local amenities. Room sizes are more in keeping with those that residents have been accustomed to in their own homes.

The home strives to provide a pleasant, caring and stimulating environment where companionship, security and independence are promoted, and residents’ privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

The priority at Broadland View Care Home is always the residents, and staff do everything they can to ensure that every resident gets the very best care possible. This is achieved by treating every resident as an individual and finding out their different needs, interests and likes.

The home also welcomes regular day care visitors to Broadland View Care Home, where an elderly person with dementia can enjoy the activities, companionship and hospitality that the home has to offer.

I work full time but in my experience of visiting, I find very friendly staff are always caring for my mother-in-law. She tells me about the meals she enjoys and she loves the atmosphere in the home. I feel happy in the knowledge that she is cared for very well.

My Dad has been here for 3 months now and it has been so pleasing to see how well he has settled in. To see him happy and content in his surroundings has been such a weight lifted from us all. All the staff have the resident's interest at the heart of their daily routine and it is a pleasure to watch
them at work with all the residents - a smile which is readily seen goes a long way. Highly recommended.

The staff are very welcoming and the care given to my dad is absolutely fantastic. His every need is cared for and I couldn't wish for him to be in a better place for his physical and emotional needs. He is very happy and I can't praise the staff enough for their wonderful care of him.
A fantastic
place and I have already recommended it to someone else.

My wife and I checked 14 care homes before choosing Broadland View. We had no previous experience of what to expect and I was very cautious when it came to considering a care home. We definitely made the right choice. Broadland View Care Home has excellent management and staff. The more I go there the
more I see how well run it is. More importantly though is how my mother feels. She loves the staff and the food and is receiving excellent care. It has a very good ratio of staff to residents and the staff are all very friendly and just get on with whatever needs to be done. The staff and other residents are my mother's new family. I could not be more happy with how things have gone. My mother has made several new friends and is very settled. She talks of being in a big house as opposed to a care home. It is just the right size for the number of residents and is most definitely her "home".

My friend came to Broadland View Care Home a month ago and I have found all the staff to be caring, considerate and very kine. My friend's room had been newly decorated before her arrival and it is so pretty. The food is excellent and plentiful. There is also a hairdresser that comes every week and
activities are planned on a regular basis. A lovely caring home.

Mum and dad moved in here during April. They could no longer live at home. My mum's life had been transformed. She had regained energy and enthusiasm for life. Dad is well cared for. All the staff care well for them and there are many thoughtful little towards that made it homely.

My mother has been very warmly welcomed here from the start and feels like she is one of a big family. The management, the care staff, the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff are always pleasant and friendly not forgetting the excellent maintenance staff. Before she came here Ma was living at home
with a live-in carer, but although some of them were quite good she was less happy than she is now. She is very sensitive to atmosphere so that says it all.

The manager and all the staff have been extremely helpful above and beyond the call of duty to my friend and her daughter, firstly in making room within four hours notice to take my friend. Secondly, in their care and support to the family. I really cannot speak highly enough about them all from the
manager down to the cleaner who keeps the home so clean. The cook makes the most delicious meals too. Thanks also for my friend's birthday present and cake.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.295)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.295) out of 10 for Broadland View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Broadland View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (50 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.462 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Broadland View Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.2 = 0.962

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
