My sister-in-law spent a short time at Whitehall Lodge while waiting for Housing with Care accommodation after hospital admission. She was very well looked after by the caring staff and she was very happy there.

Made to feel welcome. comfortable place - staff were friendly. They kept an eye on me to make sure I was alright and well, without being pushy they encouraged me to join in the quizzes and to see and be part of the other activities. Food was wholesome and large helpings.

The care home has improved since we first went there. It has all been decorated it's a lot lighter now. The staff are all very nice and I think they all try to help my cousin as much as they can.

My wife (85) was in Whitehall Lodge for 4 weeks paid by social services, as a stop gap to arrange carers. I did not see her bedroom or saw the food presented. I visited my wife nearly everyday, saw bingo once a week, my stay was for about 1 1/2 hrs. Patient personal clocks used by all and sundry not
marked.

My father entered Whitehall Lodge in February of 2016 and as many people do he struggled with the adjustment of leaving his family home. The staff and size of the place became important factors for him in this adjustment period. The family were allowed to support this on most days and at any time of
day. The small size of staff numbers and the effort of the staff to get to know Dad and the family was very evident from the early stages. Dad was very comfortable with a male manager who he trusted was there for his best interests. The structure of meals and the general timetable suited Dads needs. In the middle period of his stay we were able to take him out and again the location and surrounding areas suited this purpose. At the latter stages of his life we were kept well informed by the manager and staff never once felt left out of any decisions. In these circumstances the family needed to know that Dad was safe and cared for and this was certainly the case at Whitehall Lodge.

My mother has been in this care home for over 3 years in that time there has been various staff changes but the senior and dedicated ones are still there and I have come to look on them as friends, they look after the residents with a smile on there faces even when things are tough. The manager is very
good and is hand on as well as dealing with the administration side of things. There are various activities weekly for those who wish to take part and occasional entertainment come in i.e singers etc. Christmas and Easter fares are always well organised. All in all I find this home very well run and I am happy knowing my mum is well looked after.
