Mum has been at Woodstock for nearly a year now with advanced Alzheimer's, it's awful watching her disappear. The staff are very caring, so I feel Mum is really well looked after and treated with respect. They all know her well and show affection for her, which is very comforting. What a very difficult
and skilled job they have, caring for people with dementia, but they do it well, and with a smile.

My father has been a resident at Woodstock since April. From my experience, the staff have been really supportive to my mother and I. They helped my father settle in and kept me informed. They have been good in understanding the difficulties in moving from self-funded to financial support from NCC.
The building does look dated but is kept clean. Rooms are the same, dated but clean. I cannot comment or the food not having tried it myself. Security is OK for residents. The chances of a resident working out the door code is low. I would prefer to see a swipe card and pin code system mitigate against this risk.

I visit Woodstock on a fortnightly basis with my therapy dog, Larry. We are always greeted by the activities coordinator who, like the other day staff are always pleased to see us.
Most of the residents enjoy a cuddle with Larry and its lovely to hear about their pets. The day staff that I encounter
engage with the residents and there is a notice board displaying activities throughout the week.
I understand that the manager is making changes to the gardens in time for the warmer weather when the residents can sit outside, however at the moment this is work in progress and some lovely plants and trees have been removed to make way for the new design. The gardens and those areas which have been left for wildlife are a haven for birds, butterflies and other wildlife.
My ratings for Woodstock are based on my experience of fortnightly visits. I have virtually no contact with management, hence my one star rating.

In general the home is satisfactory but needs modernising and gardens need more attention. The front of the building is very difficult for parking when visiting. There has been a new manager for a while and small changes have been noticed for the better. Still not enough carers when my aunt pushes her
buzzer for help, can be over 30 minutes before a carer comes which is not satisfactory as she cannot weight bear and has been occasionally forgotten for her meals.

We are currently cutting back some bushes in our small car park to create more space for visitors so hopefully this will help a bit. We have a wild garden area at Woodstock which was becoming overgrown due to a recent changeover of maintenance manager but now that our new colleague is a month into the role we are glad to say that he has brought this back to a good standard and the next area on his agenda are the grounds. Having looked at our PCS records we cannot see an occasion where your Aunt has missed meals and we would be happy to discuss this with you and share the records if you can pop into the office on your next visit. Similarly, our records show that when your Aunt presses the call button the team are averaging around 1 minute to attend. Thanks again for your feedback and we send our very best wishes.

Having visited my friend many times, there has not been any occasion when all the staff have not shown dedication and kindness to all the residents even, on occasion, under difficult circumstances. The activities are planned to be inclusive and interesting for all and each resident is given an opportunity
to decline, participate or watch, thus allowing everyone a chance to have life-enhancing experiences and things to look forward to on a daily basis. There is always a feeling of positivity in the home and most importantly each day brings something to live for. Thank you to all the dedicated staff.

My mum was discharged to Woodstock in February 2024 from hospital, following the early stage of a late-onset Dementia diagnosis.
During Mum's short 6 week stay, she was treated with the utmost respect by all the team at Woodstock, in a friendly caring environment. The caring staff went above and beyond
with Mum's needs, and also for our visits.
Woodstock provides a clean environment with excellent food, all freshly prepared on-site to cater for every taste. Mum had her own room, with en-suite facilities, personal items and furniture welcomed.
Lots of activities were available, regular and well organised to involve all those who wished to join in. Singers, live bands, and amazing animal visits that Mum enjoyed so much.
Woodstock always kept us informed and updated on Mum's situation as she settled into new surroundings.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all at Woodstock, truly a great team of caring and compassionate people.

My mother has been at Woodstock since August 2021. The staff have been absolutely amazing in the care they give to my mum. Mum has ongoing health needs and the staff have gone above the call of duty to help her at all times. I can’t praise the staff enough for all the activities they have throughout
the year. Mum has been very happy since she moved into the home. It’s a huge relief to know that mum is being taken care of by kind and professional staff.

My mum was discharged to Woodstock from hospital after breaking her hip earlier this year. She was welcomed by the very warm and caring staff there who never failed to impress me with their kindness. The home is always clean, the food is excellent plenty and of it. The staff are quick to get medical
attention if needed and always keep me informed. I am always welcomed when visiting and get regular updates on how mum is. Mum's dementia coupled with her sometimes quite severe anxiety can be distressing for her but the lovely staff are always there for her with their kindness and care to alleviate her worries. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, they are just a wonderful group of dedicated caters. Mum enjoys the activities and loves to see dogs when they visit. She always tells me how she loves the staff and how kind they are. Thank you Woodstock Care Home.

Placing your family member into a care home is one of the hardest of decisions.
I called on Woodstock's services initially to take Mum as a day service every other week. As Mum has late-onset dementia they also provided respite care when we went on holiday. Mum's needs then became more than could be
offered in her own home, the staff at Woodstock came to the rescue and welcomed my mum as a resident. When Mum closed that door on her home for the last time, my heart was in pieces. Then I pulled up in my car outside Woodstock to be greeted by a member of staff almost running to the car saying “we have really missed you” I knew then that I had made the right choice and done best by my mum.
I am sure that particular member of staff and all the staff at Woodstock may not truly understand how much their genuine care and that greeting on that day meant to me. Since being at Woodstock the care Mum has and is receiving is outstanding. Woodstock staff go above and beyond.

Small ideally situated care home. Very well trained staff who truly care for all the residents. Clean and nicely decorated throughout, a nice atmosphere and great attention paid to individuals' needs and wants. I visit regularly and am always made to feel welcome, it has become a home from home for
me as well as a home for dad. The food is good and plentiful, the only criticism I'd have is they need more staff but we all know about shortages across the sector in the UK. Well done to all the staff at Woodstock, and thank you.

My mother has been at Woodstock for over a year now and has settled in very well. Since she has been there it has been difficult at times for visiting because of Covid-19, but the staff have been very helpful and kept me well informed of the situation.
I haven’t been there at mealtimes but often the
food smells very nice and Mum says she enjoys it. Plenty of cups of tea and coffee.
The home always smells nice and fresh, (no bad odours) which is pleasant when visiting.
They have activities each day of which Mum enjoys singing the most. Because of Covid, they haven’t been able to have people come into the home to entertain the residents very much but I know they will as soon as they can because before Covid they had regular entertainment from outside the home.
As for Mum’s personal needs, she is always clean and fresh, with clean clothes on each day. The carers are very attentive and cheerful and all seem happy in their work.

Have just been to see my friend who has been in Woodstock now for almost four years. In that time his needs have changed quite significantly but Woodstock is meeting his new needs to a high standard.
It has been very difficult not seeing him through the pandemic but the staff have facilitated visits
to the best of their abilities and are always very helpful with updates when you phone them. Most of the staff have been there as long as my friend has and we know each other by name, which is a testament to the home as staff turnover is low.
I would say that when I visit my friend is always comfortable, clean and appears well looked after. He has had regular podiatry visits throughout Covid, although he did look like Einstein for a while until he got his hair cut!
I know he is well fed as we always talk about how much he enjoyed his cooked breakfast and have a guess at what is for lunch.

Despite my brother not being the easiest to care for owing to his late-stage vascular dementia, he was shown the utmost kindness and thoughtfulness by all the staff. My husband was suffering from Type 2 Diabetes and Vascular Dementia. When he was discharged from hospital to Woodstock on 19th October 17 he was going through a very difficult violent stage but everyone at Woodstock treated him with the utmost compassion and gave him excellent care. I spent many hours
every day with my husband and I and other family and friends were given help and kindness at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Woodstock to anyone who needed care.

I am able to comment on standards having occasion to move my wife from another care home. Woodstock is an outstanding home. They are proactive rather than reactive. If my wife has any health issues they will obtain medical support at a very early stage. The management team set very high standards and
monitor them so care staff are aware and conform.


The care staff are excellent interacting with residents and genuinely care for their well-being.

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years. I started as a care assistant and have worked my way up gaining experience and qualifications, I have been a registered manager for 15 years within various-sized private homes.


For me, this is not only a job but a vacation.
