At The Beeches Residential Home, they specialise in all aspects of dementia care.

Situated in the picturesque village of Ixworth, near Bury St Edmunds, this Grade ll listed home supports a small community of 44 residents. The priority is in delivering care that maintains the dignity and individuality of each person, providing both physical and mental stimulation aimed specifically at those living with dementia.

Facilities have been tastefully adapted to provide easy access for those with lower mobility, providing suitable wheelchair access along with a lift to all floors. All rooms have top of the range facilities to make sure residents are comfortable, including TV points, en-suite facilities and comfortable furnishings.

And not only is it home to a welcoming and supportive group of residents, but the community also houses a small collection of pets, allowing residents the chance to enjoy the health benefits that spending time with animals provides. From tropical fish and birds to pygmy goats, there are plenty of creatures for residents to enjoy.

Visits from family and friends to the care home are also heartily encouraged. Visitors can spend time with residents in beautiful gardens or in the comfortable lounge area.

I am so impressed with The Beeches for the care of my father. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. I am always delighted with the very high standards of cleanliness and how well cared for my father is. He is happily settled, with a complicated illness, so to see him like this is wonderful.
We
searched in different areas all around the country (my brother looked in Birmingham and friends in London) but nothing compared to this. On the most recent visit where my brother was able to come, he could not believe all that he saw at The Beeches - an absolute home from home for our father. We could not recommend this home highly enough, very efficient and incredibly reassuring.

Overall, I find The Beeches care home to be well run and clean with friendly, helpful staff who go out of their way to try and make the residents feel loved as well as cheering them up. The home is the perfect size with not too many residents.
The only thing I have a problem with is the male residents.
They seem to have problems with things like keeping their clothes on for example which is distressing for many elderly ladies and their family and friends.

Mum has been in the Beeches for over two years now. She seems quite content although she is not always sure where she is. I am more than satisfied with the care she is receiving and cannot praise the staff highly enough.

My mother spent the last several months of her life at The Beeches. We were extremely happy with the care that she received. The staff can only be described as lovely - they are genuinely warm and caring and very willing to spend time engaging with and assisting the residents.
My mother was in the
late stages of Alzheimer's: able to communicate but with increasing difficulty and her behaviour was sometimes awkward. The understanding shown was touching.
The home is modest in size and beautifully located, with lounges and a large conservatory overlooking a wonderful garden. At the same time, it is secure. Meals are eaten in a dining room - the quality of the food appeared to be good and it was certainly appreciated by my mother (who, prior to her move, had eaten sporadically, often declining the microwave food offered up by a visiting carer).
I have absolutely no hesitation in warmly recommending The Beeches.

My mother has been at The Beeches for nearly 10 years. She is very special to me and has been all my life so when the time came for a care home to be found it had to be a special home to look after a special person and The Beeches certainly is. They treat mum with dignity, always having time for her,
talking to her and treating her as an individual. Even though mum has no idea regarding her surroundings she reacts to the voices of the staff. When I visit they will often let me know little things about mum because they have made an effort to get to know her well. The management and staff also respect ideas and thoughts that we as relatives have. Every time I visit mum I thank my lucky stars we found The Beeches.

Staff are very kind and caring, show dignity. I feel I can have a joke with the staff have a good rapport with most. The food I find satisfactory, staff will offer alternative choice should I wish for something different, my room is smaller than I would like but this is of no fault of the home. I feel
safe and secure staff always on hand when I need them.

Excellent care provided to my Nan by compassionate, caring staff in an clean and tidy home.
The staff were extremely understanding of not only my nan's needs but also helped with the family in coming to terms and understanding of dementia.

The Beeches is a friendly and caring environment with high levels of care and cleanliness. My mother has been at The Beeches for nearly five years and I have had no concerns about her care during this time. I visit two of three times a week at varying times of the day and I've always found mum clean,
happy and well fed.
