St Josephs, in Sudbury, is a caring home supporting up to 60 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as offering care for those living with dementia. It is located in an idyllic croft setting in the village of Sudbury.

The home continues to welcome new residents for a range of residential care services, including convalescence care, respite care, trial stays and long term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

St Joseph's care team gets to know customers and works with them to organise wellness activities that match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Each customer’s individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements.

Meals are cooked fresh, using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible, by highly trained chefs and kitchen staff.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

My mother has been a resident in the dementia wing of St Joseph's for getting on for three years. Her condition has deteriorated during that time making the job of caring for her increasingly challenging. Despite this the staff at St Joseph's have continued to give her unstinting care, always demonstrating
the utmost kindness, patience and professionalism. They manage to create a truly family ambience, giving all residents a sense of security and belonging. They are also most welcoming of visitors making us too part of the community.

My mother was resident at St Joseph's for five years . The care she received during that time was second to none . Mum was always treated with dignity and kindness by every member of staff who collectively are a very caring and dedicated team. Our family were always welcomed with open arms no matter
what time of day we visited. I could not recommend St Joseph's more highly.

My father was a highly independant 98 year old, St Josephs welcomed him as an individual having visited him prior to his arriving. From the start it was more like an hotel, the restaurant offered high quality food, the whole place was not just clean but always had a welcoming aroma with many extra
touches, fresh flowers, water, regular refreshments, daily activities. He was treated with real care, respect, consideration, thought, and humour without any sense of being talked down to. So many of the staff went above and beyond their remit. Having told us that he did not want to go back to hospital, everyone ensured that he was cared for with dignity, with a level of care that ensured we were able to support his final days with the knowledge that he was in safe hands.
Having visited other homes, I can wholeheartedly recommend St Josephs, the whole ethos puts the Care into a Care home. I suspect this is because the manager, leads with vision, understanding and respect for staff and residents, which is obviously reciprocated.

I only have praise for the staff at St Joseph's, my mother is nearly 97 and they treat her with dignity. They pick up very quickly when she is getting a chest infection and act accordingly. The staff are generally always smiling and are always good to all the residents. I am extremely satisfied with
the way my mother is being cared for.

My mother went into St Joseph's Home at the end of August. At 91 and having difficulties managing at home she had a fall down the stairs and broke her hip, leaving her with no mobility. This made it impossible for her to stay in her own home. St Joseph's Home made her feel really comfortable from the
minute she entered. The staff are all really caring and take great care to make all individuals feel at home - everyone is kept really clean, food always looked good very tasty and rooms and grounds lovely.

My mother has been living at St Josephs for nearly three years now. It was her 97th Birthday on Sunday and the staff and chef did everything possible to make this a very memorable and happy day for her, my sister and myself who both travel long distance to visit our dear mum. We were given a lovely
Sunday lunch and a special birthday cake for my mum. As we watcher her mental health progressively deteriorating we are touched by the respect and care given to her and to ensuring she has dignity and peace of mind as far as possible. I am very impressed by outstanding care and compassion shown to our mother.

St Joseph's has provided wonderful care for my mother. The staff are absolutely lovely, the setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is like a relaxed country hotel. The whole place is run by the amazing and tireless manager whose unfailing kindness and commitment I have come to admire enormously. I
couldn't recommend St Joseph's more highly.

I am very happy with the way in which my mother is being cared for at St Josephs but much more importantly my mother is really happy, which she hasn't been for a long time. The staff are very friendly and caring. I did worry at first that there wasn't enough done to entertain, or keep the residents
active, but they have appointed an activities co-ordinator which as made all the difference to the residents.
