The extra care facility is run extremely efficiently with excellent communication from senior staff. Carers are well trained and many have been in post a long time. Care planning is thoroughly carried out and reviewed monthly. All concerns or queries are dealt with promptly. Any changes in circumstances
are quickly dealt with and needs reassessed.
The environment is clean and well laid out. Grounds are maintained to a high standard. A range of activities are in place, hairdresser visits, chiropodist too.
There is very good communication with local GP surgery and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Influenza and Covid vaccinations organised.

My mother has received great care and I feel they are doing all they can to make her quality of life as pleasant as possible considering she is 96 years old, frail and is often mentally confused. She is constantly being checked upon and the staff are very kind to her. Her physical needs are dealt with
well and she is kept clean and comfortable.

Good, caring care staff who work hard and were so good in the pandemic when things were so hard.
Concerns were listened to and nearly always actioned.
Communication with a specific care need not always 100%, but concerns are always addressed.

My father was a resident at Seckford Care for five years. He started in the terrace, which is for more independent residents, then moved into a flat in the main building and then finally, for the last four months of his life, into Jubilee House for round-the-clock care.
At every stage, the care he
received was excellent. Staff understood that although he was a friendly man, Dad did not enjoy social gatherings and so he was never forced to join in with things he didn't want to.
As his care needs grew, senior staff kept me informed of what our options were and were always happy to discuss things and just to listen. All staff looked out for me as well as Dad.
Dad was treated with respect at all times.
I feel very lucky that we had Seckford Care so close by.

Seckford Care is a truly exceptional home. Over the last six years, it has not only provided brilliant care for my father despite his profound Alzheimer’s but has supported my mother expertly both while she cared for my father and since his death. All the staff are thoughtful, kind and extremely hard-working.
The facilities are excellent, and the location is beautiful and safe.

Staff are always very responsive to Mum's needs, respectful and inclusive.
The surroundings are very clean and continually being upgraded. Gardens are well kept, and residents, family and friends are encouraged to enjoy them. Several activities are available to residents if they care to partake.
Mum's
health and mental well-being have improved in the two years she has been a resident.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.394)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.394) out of 10 for Seckford Care - Jubilee House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.794 for Seckford Care - Jubilee House is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 68 Ratings = 4.794

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seckford Care - Jubilee House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
