Manor Farm Care Home in Kessingland, near Lowestoft, is situated near a beach.

The home offers short breaks, respite or long term care packages and also adopts a systematic approach to the requirements of each individual.

This small boutique care home has a focus on the individual being at the heart of everything they do.

Activities are offered 7 days a week that are tailored to the individual needs of the residents. The residents have weekly trips out and they love to go somewhere different every week.

There is five-star dining with the chef cooking wonderful dishes that the residents have had input choosing.

In my opinion, the home is very well run. I find both the management and staff to be kind and caring people who are prepared to go the extra mile in these difficult times.

My mother and father are both residents at Manor Farm. They have both being extremely well cared for and are both settled and happy. All the staff are very attentive and caring and have gone the extra mile during the pandemic crisis. The staff take the time to understand both their needs and their personality
in a very professional manner in order to engage with them and help them feel part of a family. Catering is also top-notch! The building facilities are not the most modern, but you can excuse this as they are always exceptionally clean and well presented.

My father was in manor Farm Care Home for 20 months with vascular dementia.
In that time all the staff were so caring and kind, both to him and us.
The food was very good and his room was clean and tidy. It's a very homely place and we were always greeted with smiles and hellos when visiting. We were
always informed of his progress.

I am very impressed with the care and compassion given to my dad by all staff, nothing was too much trouble and staff always went above and beyond. They are all very dedicated. All staff offered me a great deal of support during my dad's stay. They are all amazing. Thank you.

I would recommend the home. The staff is very friendly and caring. Looked after my Mum right up to her death on 3rd January. They also were very caring to me on the sad occasions, lots of hugs and kind chats. If I needed a chat they were more than happy to listen and help. The rooms were well equipped
and always clean and tidy. The manager was also very friendly too, always ready to help and listen when I needed a chat about anything. I couldn't find fault with anything there. I can only praise them all up always.

My mother has been in the care home now for over two years and in that time her mental wellbeing and confidence has increased considerably. I consider this is because the carers are always available and attentive to her needs and she knows that they will help her with any problem that may arise. All
the carers are always polite, helpful and respectful at all times.

I have been visiting for 11+ years. There have been many changes which are improvements on improvements. The staff all seem to be caring and conscientious making for a happy and content atmosphere for the service users. Overall comfort and cleanliness are to the fore and the well being of the services

Staff very friendly and helpful, bedrooms lovely and clean, meals served well. My mum has settled in very well. I would recommend Manor Farm to anyone with a family member who is looking for a care home.

Since new management have been in post the appearance of the home has been transformed for the better, along with regular outings and in-house activities for the residents. The chefs provide a great variety of home cooked food and the mid-morning and afternoon trolley service is well presented and has
a good varied selection, much improved, well done. The care and attention of the residents is excellent. On my visits I am always welcomed and treated with respect.

A dear friend has been a resident at Manor farm for some time. The care she receives and the welcome afforded me has always been excellent.
The home is beautifully presented, with great attention to detail. The lounge looks like one you have at home, residents sit in groups, not around the edges of
the room. Furniture, clean and modern. Television available but not on all the time, as residents encouraged to participate in activities of all sorts. Always something going on.
They have a variety of outings, at least once a week, chosen by the residents. A library of books available, and quiet places to read if they wish. Tea and coffee making facilities available in a small cafe for friends and family to use adjacent to the resident's lounge. A wonderful and varied menu is available every day and is displayed outside the dining room and on each table. Professional chefs take a pride in what is presented.
She has a named carer, a beautiful room, and is immaculate in her appearance. Happy.

My wife and I have seen a huge improvement what a difference a year can make with the correct Management in place, the personal care is much better, food is prepared and tasty, and details of how much and what is eaten, access to the building and garden has been sorted out at last, before access to
the garden was via the laundry room which has never been actable.


The management and staff have made the home much nicer, more pictures and day trips are a welcome addition to morale.

Kylie

Kylie Child

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2014

Kylie joined us in 2014 and was promoted to Head of Care in July 2019, having previously worked as care/team leader. She became Deputy Manager in February 2022 and was promoted to Manager in 2023. Kylie is responsible for the smooth running of the home and care staff development. When she isn’t at work, Kylie enjoys family time with her husband and two children. She particularly enjoys her time at the beach, even in the Winter!


Shona

Shona Boyle

Job Title: Head of Care

Joined: 2008

Shona joined us in 2008 and was promoted to Team Leader in 2011, having worked here as a carer and activities coordinator. She became Head of Care in February 2022. Shona has also worked in Manor Farm's kitchen as a cook, and as part of the domestic team. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her partner and three stepchildren. Shona loves fishing and shopping and has a very musical background. She has a great interest in the royal family and sang to HRH Queen Elizabeth at Snape Malting.

Kate joined us in 2019 and this is her first position working in care. As Manor Farm's Administrator, Kate is responsible for our accounts and office management. When she is not at work, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls and she also breeds working Labradors. Kate enjoys walking the dogs with her girls, especially on the beach.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

Lilli is the head housekeeper at Manor Farm. She joined in 2022 as a housekeeper and was promoted to Head Housekeeper due to her great working skills.


Lilli is passionate about her job and is also an infection control lead. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her horse (Seren) and going to the gym.

Nathan looks after Manor Farm's maintenance. He began working at the home in 2022, changing his career completely having previously worked offshore and in construction. Nathan's hobbies include golf and fishing, he also supports West Ham football club and enjoys going to watch them play.
